@pedrinme Doyle II grew up with the Vaughan family and it was Stevie that referred Doyle II to Jimmie Vaughan when he was looking for a second guitarist to tour with the Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1988.
Man that Green Light Girl Main Riff ls so addictive, this guys ls just like me, obsessed with tone, Tone makes lt honestly and this guy has the most knowledge about pedals and gear and has a great feel for tone. He ls my lnspiration
This guy gives me more faith in music. Don't believe the hype, there IS great music still being created. It's just harder to really access. This sounds nothing like my wonderful albums of the 60's 70's etc. I can only imagine how this would sound on a good stereo and turn table. Obviously, live is best! But, albums sound 3 dimensional...
Always loved him, his band and especially when he played with Arc Angels. As for this venue, Great Wall and all that, but the band is soooo far away from the crowd. Kinda messed up.
Michael Landau married Doyle Bramhall, they had a child. That child was John Mayer. Although he tried to be like daddy and daddy...he just didn't have 'it'. :-)
@voodoovibes007 Dude what are you talking about. Everybody got his own sound, it depends on style etc. I Think john mayer has a nice sound. And yes, John mayer HAS a typical strat sound. mostly because he uses (most of the time) a strat with the same pick-ups as stevie ray vaughan. and you can't deny that that ain't a typical strat sound. its not a game of 'who got the best sound' Its just what YOU like. there is no 'Suposed to be like that' sound.
Yeah, it's good to see that there are artists who know how a strat must sound. A Strat has to sound bitchy and dirty. Just like Doyle Bramhall or Eric Clapton. Against that John Mayer's Sound is sterile. A Strat must behave and sound like a bitch, when you play it. John Mayers strat sounds like a tamed donkey.
This guy should be known worldwide..why the hell not!?!?!?
Drums, bass, and guitar all played to their fullest! Awesome!!
One of my favorites from him!, love the studio version as well!.
yah, the studio version kicks it Very Hard. i found the CD at a garage sale. never heard him before. what a surprise!
Yet another amazingly talented Texas guitar slinger. Rest In Peace Doyle Bramhall Sr.! ~ Soul to Souls ~
Better than any current band around, or past. Bramhall is the best! And sexy as hell ...
JJ Johnson playing drums!
I just live his voice and the wonderful beat in so many or his songs. This guy is amazing but humble too. Rock on Doyle.
You gotta love Doyle. One night he's playing Antones, next he's playing a venue where the stage is bigger than the whole Antones building.

Now I know why Clapton, Waters, Sheryl Crow, BB King. have worked with Doyle.
