Around 1:06:00 they are talking about algae and it makes me think about making a fish take to fill with my RO waste sludge and introducing microbes and algae to break that down into a refinable nutrient. Or something I could reintroduce into my grow.
Seen someone say take entire whole fish maybe gutted or not not sure but said plave fish 3 4 inches down into ya soil n will feed ya plant allway through itife cycle loll sound gross an prolly isn't true lol
@gordongilley6103 nah that's absolutely true. Think about how much vegetation you see by lakeside where all the dead fish wash up. Super nutrient rich. Just run the risk of heavy metals and stuff since fish are "bioaccumulator"
We do controlled burns here. The blue berries grow great in burned areas. Don't forget bio char adds pot ash great source potassium. The old method of making potassium carbonate (K2CO3) was by collecting or producing wood ash (the occupation of ash burners), leaching the ashes, and then evaporating the resulting solution in large iron pots, which left a white residue denominated "pot ash".
Terra preta, bio-char, and hugelkulture all work to put carbons in the soil. Lots of different carbons for bacteria and fungus to live on to break down nutrients into plant usable nutrients. We actually grow more wood in the planted forest (cfa land) than what would grow naturally.
Walmart is now selling bags of Wakefield biochar/compost/mychoraizza mix for 5.97 a bag locally. Great stuff, just mixed it into my living soil recipe and the stuff looks amazing

I use a pelletized and micronized product called HumiChar. It has worked very well out in the lawn with sandy soil. When exposed to water it instantly breaks down into an extremely fine texture. Some say sequestering of nutrients is a problem, but all is needed is a little bit of time. The Micronized stuff is extremely quick. The texture of the product you get from BAS does take a little longer, but organic people using this technique will usually let their media cook a minimum of 3 to four weeks. That is plenty of time for an actively cooking tote to fully charge the char. I'm re-amending my 20 gallon no-til pots today.. All the amendments are already mixed altogether. I'll lay down a little bit of bokashi on top of the chopped cover crop and then apply all the amendments. All that gets watered in with a little bit of playing compost tea with some soluble Great White. Cover crop will be planted a couple days later. I'll probably plant in a month.
Considering how tight you all are with J. R . , I'm surprised you haven't brought up Grove Terp-loc bags for curing, storage and travel. I think they're great.
Just a side note, you do want to charge that biochar before amending with it. Other than microbes from the ground (your local IMO), you can use L.A.B., collected I.M.O.’s or J.M.S. to add microbes and help charge your biochar. Since you mentioned mortuaries. You can find a bunch of videos about making bio char on RUclips. It's a matter of getting it very hot without burning basically and it can be done lots of ways.
