An elderly friend of ours who had undergone a rather serious ripoff by a local service center brought her son to this video. He called this morning and I was at his moms house and he told me the instructions for programming the key. I went outside and got in the 2006 rendezvous and started the process. Thirty one minutes and fifty seconds later the car started right up. I duplicated a second key and I told her to call her son and tell him it worked and to find this link and tell them it worked.. Thanks guys well worth the ninety seven degree heat in shade to get this fixed for her.
I replaced battery in my key fob for 06 and it wouldnt work many times and it finally locked and now idk how long it will take to unlock. My lock on door is messed up too. Do i need to reprogram fob. It worked once so i guess not
I have a Buick rendezvous CX 2003 and I just replace the new ignition cylinder and ignition switch and I did the whole procedure of 10 minutes and then another 10 minutes and another 10 minutes but I didn’t know that I had to leave the key in there maybe that’s why I messed up
I HAVE A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS, I JUST CHANGE THE WATER PUMP, THE BELT, AND THE STARTER, BEFORE I DO THAT, THE CAR WAS RUNNING, AND NOW DON'T, IT JUST HAVEN'T A CLICK, DO I HAVE TO PROGRAM,?
Quick question. I just got done working with a locksmith on my 2006 Rendezvous, and they could not for the life of them figure out what they were doing wrong in this process. I'm about to take over where they left off, so is there anything with my specific year model that might be ruining this process? Thanks!
I'm positive! I got the cuts from the dealership. I appreciate you checking in! I ended up being able to get it done, albeit with a couple hours of trial and hour. This video was an absolute lifesaver. Thanks for making this information accessible!
I got 2 new keys cut and followed your directions. The car started but the security light on the instrument panel is lit up. The car is drivable but I'm bothered y the illuminated "security" light. How do I get it to disengage? Also, Will that cause any damage to my vehicle if I continue to drive with it on?

Bought a 2002 rendezvous from auction. No key. Will this work if I replace the ignition switch and key?
Yes it will
What if the key I want to program is a key that is already for another vehicle of the same type?
You will no the able to use a used key - the key will be cut differently than your vehicle and the chips in the key lock to a vehicle once programmed.

No, this procedure should not have anything to do with the water pump or starter
replaced a starter, no start. Click

There shouldn't be - are sure they were using the correct key?
