Great videos. I start bus driver training for Arriva Wakefield on 21st Feb 23 I'm looking forward to it. Maybe not the theory test as there seems tons of questions you have to get right.
Well Done Shaun walk round checks are so important and this was another fun informative video i am now a Duty Manager at SPS in Somerset and stress to Drivers all the time that they are Professional Drivers and these checks must be done properly keep it up

Well done! I think it's good for buscompanies to show passengers that they take the safety and quality of the bus serious! Q. Do different bus-types have different checks? Do doubledeckers have specific checks? And which failures are that serious (except engine-failure) that you can't leave the depot. Did this ever happen to you?
Each bus are checked the same but they might be slightly different way we check stuff. Double deckers are checked downstairs and then the same upstairs, I’ve had defects or failures at a previous company I’ve worked for where I could not take the bus out of the depot.
Serious failures are like passenger seats not secure, emergency exit not working, air leaks, bold tyre.
Safety is paramount and the vehicle must be safe. Or it won’t leave the yard.
Demisters not working is a serious fault. Happens all the time on the scanias. Had an adl with a broken ramp handle.. serious fault.

Pretty good video! Of course the reality is when ya want to report a problem...then ya get to know whether the outfit ya working for is good or bad! lol My experience until this year...my 35th year...of the UK and Canada and later this year back to the UK is...if ya in a privatised operation....share holders payouts come before safety!!! lol

That Yorkshire Bus Driver that's good, yeah I'm ok today my mum took me on the ferry to France & back today. It was nice & sunny. In Calais & Dover. I'm back home in Medway now. 😊😀

Hi all just found these guys by accident whats better bus driving or get my hgv 2 bus depots close to my home would save me £160/200 a month which is what i spend now on fuel to get to work and back 36 mile round trip daily to work where as bus depots walking distance or 5 min bus ride worst scenario push bike any thoughts be greatful bearing in mind im 55 would i be able to unload a lorrys in my 60s around the corner any advice thoughts be greatful thanks

Why are some bus drivers in general awkward about getting out of their seat and lowering the wheelchair ramp when they are asked to??? This is a running problem that I get a lot with my local bus company. I'm beginning to feel like they should offer me reduced or free travel every time that I have to hurt my back for days hauling my shopping trolley on the bus because they won't make my day easier by letting me use the ramp provided.
I’m not sure, I’m more than happy to oblige getting the ramp out If it was to make the passenger board the bus more comfortably.
Maybe sent your local depot a letter about the issue.
@@ThatYorkshireBusDriver I may have to do that if it becomes an issue on a more regular basis... but that is one of a couple of incidents that I've had with some bus drivers.
The other being that I was unable to transport a prosthetic leg home from the hospital on the bus. Just to clarify, it was in a bag and I wasn't making some huge scene about the fact that it was what it was, I just needed to get it from hospital to my home 10 miles away.
I ended up having to leave the limb at hospital and send someone else a day or two later to collect the same limb in a shopping trolley to transport it from hospital home on the bus.
icecoldprincess2009 that doesn’t sound great, some drivers make rules up as they go along and give the rest of us a bad name, what ever happened to use your common sense :(

And again it's a video where people get to see what we have to do. No one ever thinks that the bus is checked over for safety and defects. No one knows what a PG9 is. All people think is that we just "drive" and nothing else. I do feel lucky though as our ramps are button operated....BUT you have better destination blinds.
The led blinds are harder to read in direct sunlight, but yeah most don’t know about the checks we do everyday
