    Good to see someone get as excited as me to get new kit through. So lucky to have the woods and land owners permission haha. All the best.

      Ooh I love new kit. Especially when it’s dead good too. The landowner is a very amenable chap, he lets me do pretty much anything 😁 Thanks for commenting.

    Loving your exuberance, yeah I agree love mine. Been using the Hunka XL a lot but the side opening on this is so much easier. Wish the mesh 'window' was deeper but I just opened it up to look at the stars. And roomier than I expected, another great piece of Alpkit gear. Haven't weighed it but impressed to hear it's underweight with pegs. Oh and nice to the see the billhook 👍.

      Thanks for the nice comments, I appreciate it :)
      So much nicer than a bivvy bag, I'll use this a lot. I'll with a bag for stealth missions maybe :D
      Well spotted on the bill hook, most people don't know what it is. It's a very old one (given to me by a friend) but it does a lot of work around the wood.
      Thanks
      Neil.

    Do I still need a tarp with this if in bad weather. im guessing the tarp would help for additional porch shelter for changing dry/wet clothes and cooling ?

    • @chasetherainbow
      @chasetherainbow  3 года назад

      Hi, thanks for commenting.
      Yes I’d say so. It’s a step up from a standard bivvy bag and offers a bit more comfort and protection. If you’re heading out in unpredictable weather then the standard bivvy bag/tarp combo is fine. I actually like this for the summer mozzie protection more than anything.

    Nice review,
    But have you tried the Dutch army bivvy bag?
    Knocks everything out of the park.
    Give it a go.
    Regards.

    As soon as you mentioned you were a brand ambassador for Alpkit there was no way this was going to be an unbiased review 😂
    That said it's decent bit of kit at a great price point.

    • @chasetherainbow
      @chasetherainbow  3 года назад +3

      Hi, thanks for commenting 👍
      I’m a brand ambassador but I’m a look so a massive Alpkit fanboy 😊
      I was a long term Alpkit customer before I became a brand ambassador. Also I get some discount but I still buy the products with my hard earned cash. I might be a bit biased but that’s because I’m a fanboy not an ambassador lol 😂 Excellent products at great prices.
      I never accept free products from anyone, in order to maintain my integrity whenever I do a review.
      I am always prepared to highlight flaws in a product as well as the positives, and I try to be as honest as possible. Honest 😂😂😂

    Good video Neil however that looks identical to the snugpak stratosphere,so what makes this better? I see the HH is higher and there’s a loop at the foot box but it still looks like a complete copy. ATB 👍🏻

    • @chasetherainbow
      @chasetherainbow  4 года назад +1

      Hi Paul, thanks for commenting. I agree it is very similar to the Snugpak, It’s just better quality, 200gms lighter, and less money. I looked at the Snugpak a while back and decided against it.
      Cheers. Neil.

    Great video mate. Just subscribed 👍 One question: I’m 5 foot 11 and was wondering, would a rucksack fit in the bottom? I’d usually hike with a 58 litre. Thanks 👍👍

    • @chasetherainbow
      @chasetherainbow  4 года назад +1

      Hi Jamie, thanks for commenting.
      It is quite long but I’m not sure that you’d squeeze a big rucksack in. I’m only 5’7” so I’ve got a bit more wiggle room. I could definitely squeeze in a couple of pieces of Bikepacking luggage.
      It’s 225cm long (which I think is about 7’4”?) I reckon you could probably get a 40l pack in there. I’ll try it out when I get chance and let you know what I think.
      Cheers
      Neil

    4 years in development and its a direct rip off of snugpak. I'll stick with my carinthia.

      I can’t see any difference v the Snugpak. Is there any difference? I assumed it was the same, rebranded?
