A really good upbeat review! No bull, not unnecessary chat just the facts as you see them! I have on of these and it is my most used bit of kit. I’ve also used it with willow saplings when I forgot to pack the hoops and it worked just as well!
Hi - Looking into getting a bivvy and seeing this one looks good. Does it actually need to be pegged out or can it be used anywhere e.g on sand? Thanks. Very informative vid. Thank you.
Bought one of these last week. Put it up in the garden in torrential rain all night and it was as dry as a bone. I'm thinking as a newcomer to a bivy that there is a lot to learn. Have you slept with it closed yet? Feels a bit stuffy. I would be interested to see how you get on.
Used mine a couple of times and im a chonky boy and theres plenty of room, i dont feel crammed in. I have the vent at the head pegged out, the bottom pulled out with a trekking pole to make it into a kind of tunnel for ventilation, and in light rain you can keep the outer zip open and the mesh zip closed without getting wet.
Hi Andre. Two short questions: - How good is the breathability and can it be used in summer months? - How good are the mesh panels for star-gazing? Great review, really nicely shot. Thanks.
I’ve used it in the rain many times but I don’t think it was as cold as it is there I don’t think. The colder it gets, the more condensation you’ll get. That’s the nature of a single wall tent unfortunately.
But maybe it enables you to take a much lighter sleeping bag as it is warmer.less wind resistance as well. Can get into smaller sites behind log downs and boulders for extra protection,I have a tarp tent of the same weight and it all depends where I am hiking 🙏

Mine is arriving today !
Hi Andre kind of like that was it expensive 🤔 I'm gonna wait till my bushcraft course next week B4 I get my tent that might be an option 👍
130 pound I think it was.

It doesn’t need to be pegged out, it’s self supporting ;-)
@@TheMidweekEscapeArtist great. I guess I'm buying one today then :)

I don't mind the cozy feeling, just make sure the back vent is open for fresh air.

Yes it can, but condensation can be an issue.
the condensation in this bivi is bad i used this for a 1 night wild camp in the highlands of scotland when it was heavy rain n 30 to 40 mph winds
If you don’t leave the ports open, it will build up inside especially if it’s raining and the air is moist.

No way is a 1KG bivi bag that weighs the same as my tent ultra light. No hate just a statement.
