I still remember that steak well, must do another camping steak soon! The bungee cord works for me because I’m lazy- it’s just the easiest way to attach the point to the tree. TFW, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Me too! It's awful listening back. The learning point for me is either to i) bring a plate or ii) cut the steak half way through then turn it over and then cut it from the other side. The pan is fine though and so is the knife. Grand night out though wasn't it!
Nice camp, the woods were nice being not to dense, I must find a open woodland for a camp. Glad you used the tarp, keeps moisture and rain off while being “outside” rather than in a tent. Nice dinner although a bit raw for some.
Thanks, it's pretty easy to work out where I was but if you want to explore the area I'll happily send you the co-ordinates in a PM. The steak was definately rare, perfect for me. No one would guess I used to be a vegetarian! Cheers and ATB 👍
Thanks man, steak was lovely, coincidently I've just been watching your video on good-to-go chicken pho, think I'll stick with the steak! Thanks for watching. Just subbed to your channel ATB
Graham: “we gotta be quiet as we think we’ve heard a quad bike around near by…” 10 minutes later Graham: “HEY SIRI, PUT ON A TEN MINUTE TIMER!!!” Another great video mate. Love watching these just wish I had time off to get out with yous.
Love Spylaw!! Top of my list for solo camps when i want to get away from the rat race. And has running water 😄 I've been about 4/5 times now in my Hammock. My last solo visit was June. Came away with some rubbish but myself and a mate were there last July. Met some of the people who run in. (Pics up on their FB page) But whilst there we noticed someones tent but was very quiet. Turned out that they'd just packed up and left leaving it with some other stuff. We both left with nearly a bag for life each full of other peoples crap 😡 Oh and a Tent 😉
It’s a good place for hammocking, isn’t it? Well done for carrying rubbish out. It boggles the mind why some people just leave their kit. Tbh I totally forgot about those two sleeping bags we found- they’re still there. My bad. thanks for watching mate 👍
There was a quad bike buzzing really close for about half an hour, enough to make us put the fire out and go dark. It was probably just a shepherd doing a final round but it made us nervous about getting rumbled. Cheers Mark, thanks for watching 👍
@@grahamswildcamping Looks a good place to camp, shame about the rubbish. The sound of creeping around the tent is interesting. I've got a comment on my latest video from someone who camped in Harwood near the gibbet. Something touched the outer fly of his tent, pushing it in till it touched the inner fly. He got out to have a look and nothing there?.. he hasn't camped there since. I've been contacted by many people with similar stories over the years since starting the channel. A couple of them are RUclipsr's and know them quite well. Mick, who's channel is blamhof was camping in Thrunton wood and something messed with his camp, he felt uneasy and left. Mark Thompson who's channel is Tin Mug Adventures was camping in upper Coquetdale and woke the next day to a crushed titanium kettle. There were no cattle in the field which could have done that. There is definitely something strange going on in the Northumbrian countryside.
Sometimes heard people talking outside the tent when no-one there and I remember one night the outer fly being pushed down right against my head. Absolutely no one about. Scary, It all seemed very real but I put it down to a vivid dream. But who knows? The story about Marks kettle being crushed is interesting. Don't know what could have caused that.
Great idea about the bungee. That food looks delicious. Steak looked huge. I think I would butterflied it though. I like it medium. Mouth watering.

The sound of that blade on the cast iron wounds my soul but it was a brilliant night

Oh that's a lovely looking steak. I can smell it from here. I haven't been tarp camping in a little while, but it's always been my favorite way.
