Impressive. It must be nice being able to memorize patterns and tells. I've played every MH game since MH2, and every time I fight a monster, it's almost, but not quite, as if I'm fighting it for the first time, every time. I can memorize names and looks of most monsters for the most part, but when it comes to their attacks or movements or tells, I can't for the life of me ever remember even the tiniest bit. I get by relatively fine but I always exhaust my potion and med kit supply every hunt.

Finally someone I can relate to haha. There are some monsters I can predict a little better but overall I cannot memorise all their moves and simultaneously estimate what areas are safe when monsters do these moves (like half the time when I can see what's coming I still get hit lmao). I'm over 1000h in and I still can't dance around monster as well as I'd like.
People who can do that shit seriously impress me.

Makes it very easy to learn all these new mechanics on them, like counters and such because my brain knows when it is happening already, and just need to act within that window

For anyone curious, here's the stats on damage dealt:
87,469 damage just in greatsword swings alone.*
    1,187 damage in explosions (200x2, 787x1)
    1,094 damage by breaking infection
    89,750 total damage*
She hit the poor Tigrex a total of 32 times, almost all of which were to the face. The average damage per hit (not counting explosion/infection) was 2,733.4.*
*On the very final hit I played the video back at 0.25x speed to try to get the number but the first digit was off-screen as soon as the camera cut to the kill view and the one frame where you *could* possibly see the whole value before the cut shows it as one bright yellow blob. You're very clearly able to see 975 as a damage number in one frame but the previous swings from TCS all hit between 3000 and 7000 damage so it was impossible for me to say "oh that was probably a 5" with confidence. As such, the TRUE numbers are slightly higher than what I have listed.

Earned a new subscriber! This is one of the great things I love about Monster Hunter. Being one with your weapon & capabilities, and recognizing the monster's movements so you can not only avoid getting hit, but counter them with precision!
I remember my first time doing this was with Lance back with 3u, I was still very much a noobish Greenhorn, yet when I was still getting used to soloing in G-rank I met a Brachidios much like this. Being extremely aggressive because I knew when to block, to counter, and when to fiercely poke.
Back then I was terrified without a shield. 4u made me lovr having pet bugs, Bro challenged me to use Hammer and I finally understood.... don't need to block if you can just-- sidestep away. Then came my Dooting... its many years later and I still consider myself a Huntinghorn & Lance main. O ly weapons I haven't fully figured out are the Guns & bow. ._.

Feel the same way. I was expecting this video to be them perfectly dodging and positioning, knowing what Tigrex is going to do and preemptively outmaneuvering it.
But… this is effectively just someone using the equivalent of valor and parrying every move. Like, call me crazy but that’s infinitely less impressive.

@@atomickaiser1934 Sorry man, you can have your opinions on the game, but by the time you get to the Anomaly grind you're doing enough damage where monsters need this kind of HP to fight back. You were just building your character incorrectly

@@michaelmcdonald2005 "Building my character incorrectly" bro it's monster hunter. It rewards skill and timing more than your "build" And the anomaly grind sucks. I'd also say it's a fact this game is garbage. The minority that still enjoy it all they want. Wilds is the true mh experience people want.

@@atomickaiser1934 Skill, timing, positioning and the like are obviously important, I never said they weren’t. But if you really think that building sets isn’t an important part of Monster Hunter, then you don’t really know what you’re talking about. You sound like somebody who started with World, or you’re just a mainline elitist for no reason. You never hear this sort of toxicity from real fans of the series that have been playing for a long time
