High level MH play puts me in awe because there are multiple levels of mastery that come together. This show case really demonstrates just how perfectly Aris knows the Tigrex.
Similarly in dark souls 3 when you read midir like a book and you space it out perfectly so your charged heavies land directly into its face is extremely satisfying.
The way you just casually walked to the sides as it tries to swipe and bite you are hilarious! Reminds me of an anime fight we're one character is dodging attacks with just the slightest movements. Tigrex always gives me trouble, so thanks for showing it who's boss.

Impressive. It must be nice being able to memorize patterns and tells. I've played every MH game since MH2, and every time I fight a monster, it's almost, but not quite, as if I'm fighting it for the first time, every time. I can memorize names and looks of most monsters for the most part, but when it comes to their attacks or movements or tells, I can't for the life of me ever remember even the tiniest bit. I get by relatively fine but I always exhaust my potion and med kit supply every hunt.
Oddly enough, the foot Wyverns like Tigrex, Barioth and especially Nargacuga are surprisingly simple to learn, I guess that's what makes them so great.
Finally someone I can relate to haha. There are some monsters I can predict a little better but overall I cannot memorise all their moves and simultaneously estimate what areas are safe when monsters do these moves (like half the time when I can see what's coming I still get hit lmao). I'm over 1000h in and I still can't dance around monster as well as I'd like. People who can do that shit seriously impress me.
@@Hooy-Jaymay nargacuga is almost the same as when it debuted. Same timing for rolls from mhfu all the way to rise. Tigrex (mhf2) too, but now we have such nice hit boxes we can roll under his arm. Even his roar/enrage animation is the same amount of time Makes it very easy to learn all these new mechanics on them, like counters and such because my brain knows when it is happening already, and just need to act within that window
For anyone curious, here's the stats on damage dealt: 87,469 damage just in greatsword swings alone.* 1,187 damage in explosions (200x2, 787x1) 1,094 damage by breaking infection 89,750 total damage* She hit the poor Tigrex a total of 32 times, almost all of which were to the face. The average damage per hit (not counting explosion/infection) was 2,733.4.* *On the very final hit I played the video back at 0.25x speed to try to get the number but the first digit was off-screen as soon as the camera cut to the kill view and the one frame where you *could* possibly see the whole value before the cut shows it as one bright yellow blob. You're very clearly able to see 975 as a damage number in one frame but the previous swings from TCS all hit between 3000 and 7000 damage so it was impossible for me to say "oh that was probably a 5" with confidence. As such, the TRUE numbers are slightly higher than what I have listed.

Earned a new subscriber! This is one of the great things I love about Monster Hunter. Being one with your weapon & capabilities, and recognizing the monster's movements so you can not only avoid getting hit, but counter them with precision! I remember my first time doing this was with Lance back with 3u, I was still very much a noobish Greenhorn, yet when I was still getting used to soloing in G-rank I met a Brachidios much like this. Being extremely aggressive because I knew when to block, to counter, and when to fiercely poke. Back then I was terrified without a shield. 4u made me lovr having pet bugs, Bro challenged me to use Hammer and I finally understood.... don't need to block if you can just-- sidestep away. Then came my Dooting... its many years later and I still consider myself a Huntinghorn & Lance main. O ly weapons I haven't fully figured out are the Guns & bow. ._.
The most impressive part of this is the fact that you hit its face, and ONLY its face. It takes some insane skill, knowledge and foresight to pull that off. Nice run.
I... I got Rise recently. It's my first MH game. I am still struggling to dodge Tigrex's charge AT ALL and being carted back to camp every other fight with my little bowgun... Meanwhile, there's someone with a far bigger, heavier weapon making this fight look like choreographed dance. I love this franchise and I only regret not getting into it sooner.

Hello! I'm very happy to read that thanks to a video of mine you have decided to play MH. The main thing is that you enjoy the game, see which weapons you like the most and start practicing with them. For example one of the main things about the Great Sword is to learn the patterns of the monsters, that will help you to anticipate many moves. I hope you enjoy the saga and you are encouraged to play old games and the new MH games.

Look don't get me wrong this is insanely impressive. But am I the only one that feels like in Rise and Sunbreak, they added a parry to almost every weapon that more or less trivializes almost all monsters in the game, and greatly simplifies the rest? xD
Feel the same way. I was expecting this video to be them perfectly dodging and positioning, knowing what Tigrex is going to do and preemptively outmaneuvering it. But… this is effectively just someone using the equivalent of valor and parrying every move. Like, call me crazy but that’s infinitely less impressive.
Man wtf is up with the health on this tigrex. Its one of the reasons I hated playing this game. Without your knowledge and set up this fight looks like it'd take forever.

Personally I can tell the moves of all the monsters. Problem is I always overshot my attacks, making myself unable to evade.

High level afflicted monsters have huge HP pools.
their hp is balanced around hitting qurio spots which bomb for several thousand damage. as such, if you want a challenge just ignore the spots
The Qurio clusters explode for roughly 1% of a monsters total health. These here did around 1090 damage per pop, so the Tigrex had around 109,000 HP.
