    i play with the 97L racket and i love it. i’m a 3.0/3.5 player, i have a very flat shot and i can generate my own power. the control of this racket is amazing, but it can be unforgiving bc of the small sweet spot / head size. i strung my racket with alu rough so i can have some access to spin. similar to you, i tried the regular ps and i only lasted a week and got elbow pain. too heavy. so i switched back to the 97L 🎾

      Surprisingly I tried the PS97 night session (US Open) and I didn’t have the elbow pain. I think Wilson did some modifications. Let’s see what the v14 is gonna be.

    Good racquet apart from the high stiffness. Add some lead tape and its more useable that the 315g PS97.

    How is the pro staff 310 gr compared with head prestige mp 320 gr version ?

  • @mirthandir
    @mirthandir 2 года назад +2

    Hi man,
    compared to blade v8 98, how does it played? More power & uncomfort due to its stiffness?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  2 года назад +4

      Basically the PS97L has less power and comfort. The frame is stiffer than Blade but offers more spin and a little higher launch angle. I think the feel on this racket is very direct and responsive and raw. You can tell the ball is in/out/net the second you hit. Directional control is exceptional, and the ball rarely flies out. The drawback is that it has small sweetspot and lacks power when hitting off center. Not very good in defense.

    Does anyone think , it's head size is small and not comfortable to play ?
    I sold my old PRO KENNEX Graphite Comp , and bought 2 PS97L , but I feel same with pro kennex and PS97

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Год назад

      Yes that’s the reason why I switch to Blade 98. I think PS97L requires a bit too much input in rallies. It’s easier to hit with the blade even with just 1” extra area.

    How would you compare this one with gravity mp 2021 and new auxetic version?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Год назад

      In stock form, this one is way more stable than Gravity MP 2021. I haven’t tried the Auxetic MP yet but it’s even more stable than the Tour so I assume it to be more stable than the MP as well. Better control, less power, and it’s harder to play with.

    I am currently using ps97 v13, it is consistent and great in control, especially in volley it is so stable, but if I need to receive some quick and heavy shots or serves, I do not have enough time to prepare for the shot, and also in my serve, sometime when I get tired and it will be harder for me to pull up the racket, my swing-speed is slower than my usual swing-speed, although the quality of shots are ok, is the racket too heavy for me? Should I try the ps97L?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  Год назад +1

      Yeah if you are late and get too tired to swim then it’s probably too heavy for you. Try the 97L, most likely too light, add weight at 12 and counter balance at handle.

    • @IvanChan1804

      @@tantennis thanks! May I ask how to add weight to counter balance at handle? Because I have heard this term before but I don’t really understand about it

      @@IvanChan1804 two options. You can take out the grip and put lead on the wooden handle and then replace the grip. Or you can open the buttcap and put lead or tungsten putty inside.

    I do play with pro staff 97L with added weight. Regular 97 version is a bit too heavy for me. How did u customize your pro staff 97L?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  2 года назад

      I simply add a protection tape over the bumper. It increase a swingweight around 10-12 points. So now your racket SW should be around 327+-, which should be perfect for a man.

      @@tantennis Thank u for the tip. I was using PS 97 315g but it hurt my elbow and needed extra pop as it lacked power and has very small sweet spot. So I switched to PS 97L. It is much more forgiving and maneuverable but at 290g it needed extra weight. I added total of 12 grams, 6g between 3 & 9 o’clock and 6g inside the buttcap. Now it plays perfect.

      @@tantennis oh I see, yea I only tried the v8 but I just constantly see such good things about the v7. The v8 is so direct connected to the ball. Isn't the v7 much plusher/more dwell time or sink in than the v8 or something? And maybe more spin?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  2 года назад +1

      @@eyeofhorus1301 The v7 is softer and has more plush, also more plow because it is head heavier balance. I like the performance of the racket, but I don’t like the feel. The v8 has better feel but lower plow, but you can just add some lead to increase SW very easily.
