  • Italian and Indigenous cultures have come together north of Adelaide at a unique hydroponic herb farm.
One of South Australia's biggest basil producers has expanded into native alternatives.
And as Landline's Kerry Staight found it's been quite an education for everyone involved.

This guy is living my dream. It's great to see him grow hydroponics in a greenhouse using natural light. I've seen some of these hydroponic farms set up in warehouses and then they have to use a lot of electricity for lighting. This guy is doing it the right way.

As an Asian we use a lot of Basil for our dish. I love Basil to the point I had to grow some lol. Now my little garden I have Sweet, Red and purple Basil. I have it all year round. I hope Damian's kids will take over the family when he retire and continue their father's legacy.
