Shunsui tried to connect with Aizen better than Shinji did. Shunsui told Aizen about Hikifune while Shinji didn't share that information with him. But since he wasn't his captain, he only had rough idea about something being wrong.
Knowing the reveals of CFYOW (the light novel trilogy that will hopefully be included in the anime adaptation) makes the hogyoku scene so much cooler. And also helps you really empathize with Tosen.
As Aizen stated DURING THIS PAST MONTH. Urahara is already a year old captain here. And the time Shinji and Urahara talk and being spied by Aizen is when Urahara is a rookie. It means it was Aizen indeed that was spying on Shinji and Urahara when Shinji uncloaked Aizen

Then Urahara proceeded to blame Aizen even though he was in Sereitei(They did not know about kyokasuigetsu). Then they found hollowfication experiments in his barracks. I believe everyone would blame Urahara here.
Unfortunately, the full backstory behind Kaname Tousen’s motives are in a novel that released after the series ended, but they do go into it somewhat later on. It does put things into perspective for why he speaks the way he does.

Shinji can’t use his bankai in that situation as his bankai is special and can cause immense damage to friend and foe, Rose’s bankai would’ve been overkill, we don’t know what Luv’s bankai is as it isn’t revealed in the anime or the manga or novels but based on his shikai’s abilities that too would most likely be overkill.
