I’ve been waiting for this! I like the attention to detail Kubo did. As someone mentioned here, his Bankai literally means God Killing Spear. Gin’s battle with Ichigo was an excuse to use his bankai and keep it in that state for this moment while also having Ichigo retreat to level up in case he fails at killing Aizen. And lastly I just love how both Gin and Rangiku’s zanpakuto abilities have them turn to dust/ash. Such a beautiful yet tragic story.
Neel thought this was some Madara type deal were the main villain has to be defeated by betrayal. But Aizen is just that guy, he gets betrayed and only levels up.

You figuring out Gin's motivation in his flashbacks was spot on. I'll admit first time reading the Manga, I didn't recognize the Soul Reaper that hurt Rangiku or get what happened or why.

I’ll say this since he finished BLEACH already: Gin didn’t just Injure Aizen, he straight up killed him . The Hogyoku granted Aizen immortality because of it didnt he would have been dead . He’s the only person who’s actually killed Aizen since after this he’s impossible to kill no matter what. It’s pretty insane what Gin was capable of, even without Aizen’s level of intellect he would have been able to beat him if the Hogyoku wasn’t the single most broken object in fiction

Another cool thing is how both Rangiku and Gin's abilities have a mist/ash attribute, signifying their love for each other.

Why didn't gin open the gates and got sereitei right away ? Besides that he didn't have to die here and also nobody fucking knows about his sacrifice other than rangiku , maybe ichigo and his friends and wasn't made a big deal later in the series. They didn't even bring it up and expanded on it later in entire series . It's just stupid. So much potential wasted . It's like Itachi's story but incomplete or wasted story line. It's as if there was no fucking point whatsoever and insignificant and overlooked. Such a great character gin and also the badass subversion and the only one who made aizen fear other than Ichigo but it was later.
I'm stil not over Gin and Rangiku's story. It's not fair. I hate Aizen with all my being. He may be stunning and hella strong but YOU DON'T DO THAT. NOT TO GIN AND RANGIKU.
Gin went through Itachi levels of undercover to get that chance at Aizen. Imagine how hard it is to let those who loved and respected you believe you betrayed them and dealing with them coming at you with intent to kill. It makes all of his interactions more significant too. From "letting the ryoka escape" in soul society, to all of the nonlethal attacks. He let people take shots at Aizen saying "I didn't think you'd need my help" and even tried to reignite Ichigo's fighting spirit.
I think this section really showed how desperate Aizen was for something interesting to happen. He could've very easily finished his goal but chose to just fuck around, even letting both Ichigo and Gin get the chance to try something. For someone smart as him it's a large number of unnecessary risks that he willingly took, unless he was hoping for a challenge.
I think neel already guessed it, a lot of people do get a slight hint about Aizen's true feelings, but it's strongly hinted in the series that Aizen is secretly very lonely and actually wants to lose at several points, but also just wants to change to happen in a corrupt system that he sees.
Gin is a tragic character, he truly was a hero that tried to stop Aizen but was just unlucky. If he had done it sooner it would have been successful and Aizen wouldn’t died such a same RIP Gin.
Gin was not a hero he was a man out for revenge no matter the cost and sacrificed everything to get that revenge even the happiness of the person he’s doing this for Gin killed a entire village in the rukongai Aswell

Why didn't gin open the gates and got sereitei right away ? Besides that he didn't have to die here and also nobody fucking knows about his sacrifice other than rangiku , maybe ichigo and his friends and wasn't made a big deal later in the series. They didn't even bring it up and expanded on it later in entire series . It's just stupid. So much potential wasted . It's like Itachi's story but incomplete or wasted story line. It's as if there was no fucking point whatsoever and insignificant and overlooked. Such a great character gin and also the badass subversion and the only one who made aizen fear other than Ichigo but it was later.
I'm stil not over Gin and Rangiku's story. It's not fair. I hate Aizen with all my being. He may be stunning and hella strong but YOU DON'T DO THAT. NOT TO GIN AND RANGIKU.

Gin went through Itachi levels of undercover to get that chance at Aizen. Imagine how hard it is to let those who loved and respected you believe you betrayed them and dealing with them coming at you with intent to kill. It makes all of his interactions more significant too. From "letting the ryoka escape" in soul society, to all of the nonlethal attacks. He let people take shots at Aizen saying "I didn't think you'd need my help" and even tried to reignite Ichigo's fighting spirit.

Fun fact, gin learned the fact about Kyouka when Aizen stabbed Yamamoto, that's why he betrayed aizen so late
I think this section really showed how desperate Aizen was for something interesting to happen. He could've very easily finished his goal but chose to just fuck around, even letting both Ichigo and Gin get the chance to try something. For someone smart as him it's a large number of unnecessary risks that he willingly took, unless he was hoping for a challenge.
I think neel already guessed it, a lot of people do get a slight hint about Aizen's true feelings, but it's strongly hinted in the series that Aizen is secretly very lonely and actually wants to lose at several points, but also just wants to change to happen in a corrupt system that he sees.
The itachi of bleach
Gin is a tragic character, he truly was a hero that tried to stop Aizen but was just unlucky. If he had done it sooner it would have been successful and Aizen wouldn’t died such a same RIP Gin.
Gin was not a hero he was a man out for revenge no matter the cost and sacrificed everything to get that revenge even the happiness of the person he’s doing this for

So exactly like both aizen and juha who had noble goals but the ends justifies the means
Only he’s not like them he had no noble aspirations It doesn’t change that gin didn’t care for the big picture he didn’t have a noble ideal he didn’t care what was good and what was bad he only wanted revenge plain and simple
So much so he sacrificed not only his future but the happiness of the person he did it for away without a second thought
I’d argue he was closer to evil then aizen or juha ever were they both wanted to improve the world no matter how misguided it was on juha part
Gin just wanted revenge to murder aizen and steal back the part of rangikus soul that was stolen

Gin. My favorite moment with my favorite character. Everything was so great and epic. Then he dies for nothing and I lose all my interest into Bleach. Sad and disappointing, no matter how I many times I read / see it
