I thought that this was just a decent album but I did not like this one as much as their first two records. I felt like they really struck gold with Levels and Welcome To The Chaos but it just seemed as if they took a slight step backwards on this one. A lot of people were raving over this but there wasn't really anything unique to me that set it apart from those first couple of albums that they released.
I felt pretty disappointed considering that I'm a huge fan of FOF but the whole concept idea of the record just doesn't seem like their style at all. It's like they were trying to do something completely different from what they normally do and the majority of songs on here just felt like a bunch of slower alternative rock anthems with not much flair to it. Even the guitar work didn't seem like it packed as much of a punch compared to their older material.
Hearing this just really made me miss their kind of cocky style that they displayed on the first two records but they still kept it real when talking about depression. Hopefully their 4th album ends up being a lot better 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
PS: Now that this album is out of the way I'm just more excited to hear the 3rd album coming out from D.R.U.G.S. - Until God Shows and that's definitely my most anticipated release of the year so I'm just crossing my fingers that it ends up being good.
