My absolute favourite Squeeze song.
The version of this song is from Spot the Difference. Back in 2010 Squeeze made a record where they kind of added new bits to thier greatest hits. This was because they do not own the rights to their songs. So by doing this when a radio station plays these versions of their singles they get money. Squeeze are an amazing band. I've seen them live many times and saw the singer Glenn Tilbrook live a few times as well and he was great. Also I've seen Chris Difford the writer of the lyrics to all thier hits and the deep voice you can hear in the back ground last year as well and he was great too.
Love this version and I love that you can barely tell it’s not the original! Also, Glenn and Chris sound as good today as they ever have. Truly glorious band.
I've always loved the tasty guitar solo in this song.
Such good story tellers of things we all relate to.

My favourite Squeeze song and that guitar solo is amazing.
Such a great song on a great album. Their last with Jools which still saddens me. They were arguably the best pop songwriters of their day.
Not exactly the last. When they reunited in 1985 Jools also rejoined and did three more great albums with them before leaving for good.
Thanks again for featuring the band. As others have said, this is an older version but the differences are pretty small and it still showcases a very good track - Squeeze will always be a great listen!

It's a very good song.
I was flinching with slight confusion thinking ''this sounds like the Spot The Difference version'' before reading the small font in the video. This was a new recording of the 1980 song from the Argy Bargy album. The band was doing what Taylor Swift was recently doing, and reclaiming old catalogue... somebody can explain it better than I can.. .but you are hearing an older Squeeze singing an older squeeze song.. you're not hearing the young Squeeze.
Well. That means another revisit. Lately we're coming across a few of these.

I'm sure you've figured out by now that I am very particular about the videos you guys view when it comes to my suggestions. I will just email you a link to the exact videos I want you to view. I seek out the best sound and picture quality that's available on RUclips. I still kick myself for giving you a link to a glitchy Cold Chisel video (''My Baby''). I have a friend that had uploaded a 4K digitally remastered version of that ''My Baby'' video, and I still gave you that dodgy one. *Palm smack* Now I watch an entire video before passing you a link.
I've also noticed people making suggestions with the name of the song and the uploader of the video, rather than just artist name and song title alone.
I think to avoid things like poor uploads and re-recordings, it's best people make requests with the song title, artist name and video uploader.

We classed it as new wave (the genre)… nowadays, bands can be fluid around genres - I think new wave gave license to experiment a lot more hence some country and synth all mixed in there!

Great Squeeze track and lady you could not sit still listening to this.
This doesn't sound like the original, it's not as good but if it's recent, they're not doing bad lol
They're often touring but unfortunately quite pricey for an old band imho

I forgot how great Squeeze are.
Surprising solo and it's fantastic right?! I love this band so much. Their sound evolved over the years to this. Cool For Cats is so fun if you haven't heard that one.

Squeeze have quite a history, with Jools Holland and the trauma of a change of singer. superb musicians and just great music.
We're enjoying them thoroughly.

"Pulling muscles from a shell" and "black coffee in bed" are both good songs from Squeeze.

This is an odd recording and I cannot tell if it a remake or live by remake I mean one in which a band will redo a song and leave certain members out of it , for royalty purpose

I know. yes there are a lot of great american bands. But Brit bands seem to rule Power Pop.
