Watching Dennis Rodman play basketball was easily one of my favorite things to do. Unbelievable HUSTLE!!!, and a great teammate. Did WHATEVER it took to win a game. Rebounds and loose balls belonged to Dennis Rodman.
That's just how great he was. To have had the length of career he had, while often not scoring a single point in a game, let alone score a free throw, is unprecedented. He was the guy you love to hate then love.
@@murkwithasmirk6877 So you'd like to spend an eternity watching people worship Jesus and just sit there not even accepting him as your God. That doesn't sound fun. That's like choosing to watch your least favorite sports team play for an eternity.
I grew up with the bulls in the 90s being from Chicago and I would remember my grandmother would watch bulls games just for Dennis. Firstly to see what color his hair was going to be.
He could be a guarantee miss for every free throw he takes and I'd still put him in my starting 5!! He was an absolute rebounding machine basically his whole career and it played a major role in winning those 5 NBA Championships he has been a part of winning!
He played Basketball like it was just a game and he made sure everyone remembered that it’s just a game while also being one of the greatest ball players of all time amazing amazing legacy nobody can tarnish truly an awesome experience watching this man play the sport
He played like that when the clock wasn’t running, but when it was, he played like it was life or death. I’ve never seen anyone hustle like he did for rebounds and loose balls. That dude would dive head first into a concrete wall to save the ball, in the first quarter of a regular season game. He wasn’t the most talented player ever, but he played harder than anyone else.
Never think you are a bad player if you can’t shoot the ball. Dennis Rodman averaged about 7 points per game (I’m not sure) and like a million steals and rebounds etc. Point is you can still be a great player without making a lot of points.
@@johon127 Yeah. I personally don’t believe that scoring is the great key to being the GOAT. Like I said, you could still be a great player and not score a lot of points. Take Shaq, Shaq was not your guy to shoot your shots. Although, he was great at layups, dunks, rebounds, etc. Point is Shaq didn’t shoot, not the best either, but he still made it to the list of greats from doing other things.
@@gos_alex3743 Well Shaq was kind of a scoring machine, but my point is scoring is not necessary to become a great, Steve Nash is a true example to this
Rodman was a legend in my book. Growing up he was so fun to watch, yes he had his crazy moments.. But his love game and hustle for his team made up for it. Best rebounder of all time.
Especially in that era lol. Back then coaches only let about 3 - 4 players on their teams have a green light like that and Rodman was never one of those guys.
This brought back good memories Jordan Pippen and Rodman what a team wish I could have seen at least one live game with those three it would have been awesome. I never missed a BULLS televised game though. The good old days....
“The worm” my all time favorite power forward, specially those years he was with the bulls. Man, oh, man those blocks and rebounds and the irritation he gives to their opponents
Dennis made the game fun again with the heart of a child. That is so rare in high level competition. He knew he was an entertainer and he did it better than anyone in the game!
I saw him playing for Lakers at that same game where he bowed to ref he missed another free throw earlier and walked under the hoop, licked his finger and held it up like there must be a draft in the air. Hahaha Btw I sat right behind Carmen at that game she was smoking fkng hott
A beast of a defender, too. Imagine being able to put Shaq off-circuit on the court... Rodman wasn't a player as versatile as Jordan, but what he knew, he did with expertise.
There's a moment I remember seeing way back in the day where Dennis sank a free throw and immediately turned to the opposing bench and flipped the bird. I've never been able to find it.
What made the Chicago Bulls great was their great diversity of talent. They had players who were good but really excelled in a single way (except Jordan who was good at everything). The world-class all-around: Jordan The supporting 2nd: Pippen The shooter: Kerr The rebound specialist: Rodman And a number of interchangeable lesser although acceptable players like Kukoc, Harper, Longley, etc.
Skip my class just to see this bulls team.. specially finals..what I've got,fix school chairs to pass, and I never regret it..it's better to fix chairs than miss the bulls game...hahaha

Man I’m a 90s kid watching jordan pigpen and Rodman made me find my love basketball
Pippen
his rebounding is outstanding nobody can do it like Rod..
2:12 Gets his own missed FT on the rebound, launches up a 3 pointer 😂
I like how you can hear him say "awww shit" before he shoots 1:58

Great power comes with great difficulty in the line 😂
But there's only one Rodman can't replicate him
Those kicking the ball and heading the ball are straight ejections these days 😭
Saw Rodman play in person 5 times or so. Favorite moment was blocking a Robert Parish dunk.....from behind.

what a character, the only player who had people cheering for every rebound he got, one of the most entertaining people to ever play the game.
