I’ve never been a viper enthusiast but this film Has changed my perspective. The fact that this crew went to the ring without factory support deserves the utmost respect. Not breaking 7 minutes, in my opinion, adds to the allure of it. Everyone knows it could be done, but circumstances didn’t allow it. Great watch, thanks for the film.

If it helps, it ain't like the cars they DID make will suddenly disappear. If one of them stays out of collectors' hands and gets back to the ring (with an ace pilot like Jeroen Bleekemolen at the wheel), it's a sub 7-minute car. Maybe sub 6:50
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 would need the suppord of Dodge/SRT to unleash it´s full potenital. These guys are the real experts. Also the ACRs in this video have different gear ratios than stock, I think something they did with the previous record car (7:12 min) as well. I don´t know if this was something available from factory or bespoke record car gear ratios?! But yeah, that´s just my 2ct.

That V-10 with the manual gearbox, the width, the grip...insane car. Viper is a true driver's car. The new ACR has even more downforce, better brakes, insane everything. I hope to own one soon
Fantastic...really had my adrenaline going. The cars sound so wonderfully mean and the music you used captured the anticipation and anxiousness of the whole effort. My heart is still pounding.
What a truly amazing experience just watching the video. Hard work, the dedication, the love from the viper community. Had a chance to see both cars when I bought a viper from Bernie Katz. Such an awesome experience
At the end of the day it was FCA politics that killed any future attempt. The Viper is more than capable of dipping into the 6:50s but what would that say about FCA crown jewel Ferrari?....
Ferraris aren't built for the ring. Neither is the Viper. The Viper and Corvette are built around Laguna Seca. The Viper died due to a combination of cost and that they cannot legally build the Viper in the US anymore with new safety regulations that raise it's center of gravity.
No it’s because people didn’t buy them! Look at the new Corvettes, all the owners opted for the dual clutch by such a large margin that GM had no choice but to shelf the manual. Because nobody bought them. Big contrast to Porsche owners who I believe raised enough hell to bring back the manual for one of the 911s.
@@KevinSmith-qi5yn The vipers main competitor was the vette, and the vette was and still is much much more affordable, this is why the viper died. Also, the viper has always been produced in small numbers, but again this is most likely due to demand, or lack thereof. This car is an absolute legend, but it's an expensive legend. Even first-second gens I see going for like 40k, some as high as 80k.
Gentlemen, thank yoou so much for going out there and accomplishing this astonishing feat. I'll be telling your story to my grandchildren, guaranteed. Legendary car, legendary sendoff.

Congrats to the team and enthusiasts that made this happen. As an owner of a 2017 Viper ACR-E, I am proud of what the car achieved and the fact that it was a privateer effort. I cannot express how disappointed I am with Kumho tires. I have run them on my other cars and never again! I don't think I have ever experienced worse tires than Kumho but you work with what you have been dealt. Thank you team Viper for a valiant effort and a fitting way to send this car into its sunset :-(
A job well done team and Viper will always be in my heart, was lucky to buy one just over a year ago and fulfill my childhood dream and really love every moment I’m in it
Lots of comments on the Porsche being faster, but for a car from a country whose cars are known to be "unable to do turns", 7:01 is one hell of a time!

I will always love the viper. Fell in love with it when it was first released and it's crazy now how much performance has increased in cars from the early 90s to today. I remember thinking the first viper was insane with its 400 hp, and now I have a 435 hp mustang gt sitting in the driveway. I would love to own a viper one day though. A manual gearbox will always be my preference no matter how fast they make the automatics
Just got back from NVE3 in Vegas - I wish I had watched this prior to going - they did an amazing job rebuilding the wrecked ACR for the event such that we could check it out. Excellent video, thank you!
I will own a Viper one day. Probably not a ACR. But I just have always loved the design and I have always been drawn to mechanical things that are over engendered and over build. The engine is simple, beefy, under stressed and NA. The same goes for the manual transmission. It can be worked on by a normal every day mechanic. No expensive dealer only services and proprietary tools. Poor car...
Oh! The Viper. Incomparable. And I am a picky Brit. I can still remember when I first saw a Viper in a Chrysler dealership in Balham London. I have never had a reaction like it since. The best looking car since the GT 40.
I was never a big fan of the Viper until the 5th gen. I used to like them, but that was it. Even though, took a while for me to completly understand this poison monster. Today I love Vipers, specially the ACR, and all I can say as a petrolhead, is thanks, to all the people that made this possible and for showing all the passion put in this project that seemed cursed by the weather and circumstances that the video shows. It hurt to see the car damaged, but happy to see the driver is ok. Incredible how passion created this dream, and became truth without Dodge or FCA involved What a way to say goodbye you guys gave to this legend. Massive respect and greetings from México 👏👏👏👏
I never say this but God bless. To achieve such an accomplishment with crowd funding, a group of enthusiasts, A MANUAL GEARBOX, and on the hardest track ever built and to reach pretty much 7 minutes flat in terrible conditions
Fantastic video! Now I see how much of effort is needed to achieve something big at Green Hell, even for so huge company and iconic car as Dodge Viper...
I’d love to see someone come back and do this again. As a fan of the Viper since the beginning I’d love to see it make it into the sixes. Maybe around the time the new ZR1 does it. I’d really love to see a final special edition Viper with a special engine, maybe a Hellcat motor, do this run. A man can dream.

Maybe if you're military needed a high performance track/super/hyper car then you would probably have the best by now!! It's a shame Lockheed and their skunkworks department couldn't throw a couple of billion dollars into one!!! That would be amazing!!
Once you own a Viper, you really understand what true manual driving pleasure it is. It is you driving it, not the computers. Mine was a 1996 Viper GTS. Best supercar that I have ever owned.
Top TOP work guys! Great job!!! Fantastic film
Thanks for watching!
The Viper is still the coolest American car ever built, and I’m patiently waiting for its return
With Texas plates. Love it.
Always been more of an import guy, but I've always had nothing but respect for the Viper! Awesome inside and out, one of America's most iconic supercars.
bliglum That’s why they made a TV action/drama show called Viper back in the ‘90s. It was like Knight Rider of the ‘80s.
We're all car guys, mate. If we need our heavy-handed supercar fix we'll go check the GTR Nismo!
thanks guys for the effort, blood, sweat and tears you put in.This is true automotive passion and rightfully so. I´ve had the chance to drive the ACR for a day and was mighty impressed. The numbers are great, but the experience is even more amazing. Sad to see it go, but as they might say: legends never die.
Thanks for watching!
Sub 7 min for sure, maybe close to 55 but definately not below 55 on those tires. Maybe on a state of the art Michelin Cup 2 R, but that would require a Viper ACR specific tire development to have a bespoke tire. Then we might be talking. Also the ACRs in this video have different gear ratios than stock, I think something they did with the previous record car (7:12 min) as well. I don´t know if this was something available from factory or bespoke record car gear ratios?! But yeah, that´s just my 2ct.
I like how this documentary was uncensored, it allows the full emotions felt to come through
I wanna hug the driver who crashed
The interview with Winkles really brought me to tears. He heard the Viper V10 take its first breath but now he has to see it go.
We call him Mr. V10 for a reason. He's been involved with the Viper engine development since they beginning. A true legend.
Wow....I'm speechless. Beautiful video and amazing effort. The Viper is and will always be a legendary car. It's a real shame that FCA does not respect this car and it's heritage, as well as the engineers that designed and built it. I really don't understand why FCA would rather sell more minivans and stupid fucking RAM trucks vs. this amazing machine.
Could possibly be that there are more people looking for minivans and trucks than sports cars... maybe.
and Safety regulations killed the Viper off as well
Fix It Again Tony is fucking Mopar. They killed off all the motorsports teams (Viper was killing it in endurance racing) except for drag racing because of money issues, now they are killing off Mopar brands. Chysler now only makes 2 vehicles and Dodge is relying heavily on muscle cars to support itself. All the while, FIAT is stealing all of Mopars revenue to revive Alfa Romeo. Fuck them.
Thanks for watching! We'll have more video clips to post from behind the scenes now that we've completed the documentary. We also plan to submit to the
International Motor Film Awards in London later this year.
No safety regulation killed the viper. Thats just ignorant.
We're live!
That car without question is a sub 7 minute machine. I've always wished that the record lap attempt had more backing. Great job guys, yall done all us viper lovers proud.
When a car video can bring tears to your eyes!
Thanks for watching!
I cried when the car lost control & hit the barrier. 😭😭
This whole video was nothing less than fabulous. So much hard work, sweat, patience, emotions. 😔
Amazing display of effort. God bless you all.
wonderful documentary, viper is a warrior in an increasingly electrified world with electronic assistants, a car in its purest essence, we will never forget you viper warrior, never
the world will never see any car like a viper. long live the king
He's not King, he's just a snake.
he doesn't own any land or army.
He doesn't even want to be king.
But his passion and history can tell, this dream is the NA V10 at the front end, and no one's stopping him from racing.
7:01 is insane for a rwd manual car pure drivers car too(from what ive heard i have yet to drive one). Amazing effort from the people that set it up ans achieved that time. Million things effect the time around a 20km circuit. Few seconds here or there is nbd. On another day or another attempt im sure it wouldve done sub 7.
My Dad just got a Challenger Hellcat last year, now a Demon.
....But nothing compares to the joy when he bought his first Dodge Viper back in 1999. That V-10 with the manual gearbox, the width, the grip...insane car. Viper is a true driver's car. The new ACR has even more downforce, better brakes, insane everything. I hope to own one soon
Thank you for the feelings, emotions and tears.
Viper might be not in production anymore, but i'm sure it's going to come back at some point
Thanks for watching! We're all looking forward to the triumphant return of Viper.
It has to as it’s one of the TOP FIVE performers.
That's a 6 minute manual transmission car. The man mis-shifted a couple of times but he was holding on for dear life, can't blame him
At the end of the day it was FCA politics that killed any future attempt.
That was amazing!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Well done! Captured the highs and lows that all of us back home were feeling while watching for updates about the attempt. Great job everyone!!
Huge respect for the effort! The Viper ACR was an exceptional car and it really deserved the Ring record.
A true BEAST!
Sad they will no longer be in production
We feel the same way!
Maybe it will if they can somehow implement the same engine used in the Challenger Demon but would be a dry sump to lower that center of gravity.
Stefan Unson no it needs the V10. It's called legacy and heritage
G.O.A.T. - such a great car, would have been a shame to never have the best and last set a time
My respect for the fastest manual production car ever build.. because of this video, I'm buying a Viper for myself.. so emotional and respect!
Gentlemen, thank yoou so much for going out there and accomplishing this astonishing feat. I'll be telling your story to my grandchildren, guaranteed. Legendary car, legendary sendoff.
Thank you for watching!
The fact that they did 7:01 and still left something on the table is incredible
Thanks for watching!
The viper is the ultimate expression of how incredible cars are and how much joy they bring us. And a perfect example of the relationship between man and machine. I hope the feel cars bring us doesn't dissapear over time cuz this is something very precious, the joy of driving a car by yourself is just... unexplainable
Man I was almost in tears close to the ending. This is the best car documentary I've ever seen. 🐍🐍💚💚😭😭
Thanks for watching!
This will always be my first ever dreamcar. Hopefully you guys can return and break this record. Thank you for the movie, it was awsome. 👏
Thanks for watching! We'll have more video clips to post from behind the scenes now that we've completed the documentary. We also plan to submit to the
International Motor Film Awards in London later this year.
Great effort. Really saddening to see it go out without a fair shot.
LEGENDARY attempt and a fantastic achievement. This car will do under 7:00 for sure
Absolutely well done!!! Way to capture the anticipation and emotion behind this record attempt!
I actually am crying. Thank you, i really needed this. With honor and respect, come back again viper
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Thank you team Viper for a valiant effort and a fitting way to send this car into its sunset :-(
Great documentary. Love it. Unfortunate that you didn't get the clean run you wanted. When tires explode, there's nothing you can do but ride it out.
Thanks for watching Steve
A job well done team and Viper will always be in my heart, was lucky to buy one just over a year ago and fulfill my childhood dream and really love every moment I’m in it
Thanks for watching!
What a great video, I've watched it for many many times and never got enough of it.
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic! I was lucky enough to have been watching the attempts at Brunchen! 👊
Thank you for this.
Thanks for watching!
Lots of comments on the Porsche being faster, but for a car from a country whose cars are known to be "unable to do turns", 7:01 is one hell of a time!
Direct hit right here.
As a fellow (still fairly new) RUclipsr, I have to say that this was shot and edited beautifully. Even better that it was about my favorite car. Hope to see more from you guys!
big up for everyone involved ! Saw one car while enjoying a beer at Breidscheid, the viper has such a great presence on track (Y)
The shot of them both cruising might be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
LIKED, ADDED TO FAVORITES, AND SHARED. From a Dodge enthusiast and owner, THANK YOU.
Thanks for all the GOOD things! We're happy you enjoyed the film, and we hope everyone who would enjoy this learns about it's existence so they can watch & enjoy as well!
Awesome! This had my heart pounding, and I was on the edge of my seat. Still a fantastic run, and a great car.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for that Amazing job, I'm proud to be a small part of the Viper community !
I'ts so sad that Chrysler don't produce anymore this piece of art. Great work guys.
Thank you for watching!
Been watching vipers since childhood. It will always be my first car love!
5:17 Monday was on the 24th of July, I remember because that was the day I was there for a drive :), I heard the Viper.
Thank you for making this entertaining & informative video
By my deeds I honor him. V10
Amen
Witness!
Just got back from NVE3 in Vegas - I wish I had watched this prior to going - they did an amazing job rebuilding the wrecked ACR for the event such that we could check it out. Excellent video, thank you!
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Thank you all for making this happen, proud to have helped in a small way.
Well done! If there hadn't been that accident, the Viper would be nearly as fast as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. 7:01.3 is an announcement.
Poor car...
The sounds of him yelling as he crashes is chilling.
Oh!
Valiant effort, well done chaps.
Thanks for watching!
I never say this but God bless. To achieve such an accomplishment with crowd funding, a group of enthusiasts, A MANUAL GEARBOX, and on the hardest track ever built and to reach pretty much 7 minutes flat in terrible conditions
Respect. Thanks for watching!
wonderful video! have a good day
Fantastic video!
I'm always in for filming at the 'Ring.
Great video and thanks for sharing the experience guys. Finally giving us closure on what happened.
I was fortunate enough to have seen you guys doing the record attempt. Such an amazing car and such a shame Dodge stops building them... I would say: rebuild those beasts and try again later on!
Thanks for watching! We'll have more video clips to post from behind the scenes now that we've completed the documentary. We also plan to submit to the
International Motor Film Awards in London later this year.
Mmmm... often come back to this video every few months and have to say it’s just INCREDIBLE! Hats off to all that were involved with this project. This is a true reflection of the passion for genuine automotive sport and culture. Completely BALLER! ✊🏼
Awesome car and achievement!
Biggest let down is the front tire profile - can't handle the heat for such a long track, and that's also why they crashed - front tire exploded - because of the heat.
Thanks for watching!
Truly remarkable effort for trying to show the true potential of this amazing Car, it always be a legend. One of rawest cars made for unique drivers, long live the Viper💪
Fuck yes. This video is *perfection* 👌 THANK YOU DEARLY FOR THIS
One of the most Beautiful machines ever created 😍
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the positive feedback!
What a documentary, this is true passion.
Thanks for watching!
awesome video guys it broke my heart to see him loose it into the rail so sad this car can get into the 6s,thats a rear wheel manual car too amazing i drive 14 gts candy red stryker every time I get in it like first time, my dealer dying to get it back lol
Thanks for watching!
God Bless Bernie Katz - miss you brother! What a consummate enthusiast Bernie was! Fun seeing Bernie's contagious enthusiasm here again.
Just awesome. Such a cool car absolutely capable of running sub 7. Shame it didn't happen but kudos to everyone for giving it all they had.
Great documentary. Love it. That crash was scary as hell - glad he was ok.
The 5th fast lap time by a production car is really quite amazing if you consider its under $150K. It would be 7 if you count the Radical cars but they aren't street legal everywhere, plus its not a true production car.
Fantastic Doc! Love the Viper and the Nurburgring!
