Nice tips. Think we are going to our local wildlife park this week so I may try it. Never done animal photo before so should be fun. Really liked the last image of the lion. Ya captured that perfectly.
If you put the Z7 in DX mode you'd have the close up view like you said this D500 gave you. I live near the San Diego Zoo and also their larger Safari Park facility. Both are awesome zoos - world famous I think, but they give almost no thought to making it good for photography. I'm sure their staff people can get good shots from better vantage points, but not the public.
Yeah, that's true - I am planning to do a video on the Z7 in crop mode at some point. Shame about the photography limitations at the zoo - I guess they have to think about safety and stuff first, but it's always nice if these places are photography friendly. Thanks for watching. 😊
@@Robert-Bishop It would seem like the zoos could set up a few photo spots and charge an access fee for a little more revenue. What would we want? A clear view, uncluttered background, light over our shoulders instead of head on. They could add a little lighting to partly fill shadows so we wouldn't have to annoy the animals with flashes. What else? I was talking to a museum worker recently and she told me some of the animals are looking away a lot because they don't like being stared at. We were talking about the apes at the moment but I suppose that's the same for the monkeys and others. The photo spot might have a blind to shield the photographer from the animals. Any other ideas?
Hi Robert, i would like to know if you could send me the icc profile that you use for your prints, i have the same printer as you and want to print with the same canson paper and from where i live i almost have no possibility of sending the test sheets to fotospeed for getting the icc profile. From where i live in the caribbean, i have no possibility to send it to the uk.
All good tips Robert - I took the kids to Blackpool Zoo a few weeks back and utilised all these techniques. One thing I would add though is be aware when pressing your glass up to the fencing…..my lens was attacked by a parakeet, I didn’t even see it coming haha whipped it away just in time - got a nice photobombed pic though 😂📷🦜

What a nice video. You've given me some good ideas!
Thanks, that's great, I'm really glad you found it useful. 😊

Thanks Paul. I hope to see your images from your local. 😊
That is such a nice park. I like it. 😊
Yeah, it's pretty good Sandra. Nice and close to where I live too. Thanks for watching. 😊
Great shots Robert. I've been to a few wildlife parks but not YWP - it looks great for photography.
Cheers, Andrew. Can get very busy, but really easy to get some good shots of the animals. 😊
