A lot of fans complain about Isidro as annoying but I've always liked him for a few reasons:
1. He was one of the first people to meet Guts post eclipse and not be afraid of him (In fact he fan-boys instantly like the rest of us)
2. He saved Casca multiple times during the Conviction Arc
3. He protected Schierke during the Troll Slaying Arc
4. He provides a lot of comic relief. In a dark world like Berserk, I find Isidro's comic relief a breath of fresh air.
Edit: 5. Isidro got Casca to smile for the first in years for Guts to see in chapter 236. It was thanks to Isidro goofing around in the ocean and Casca having fun with him was when Guts got to see the one he loved most happy for the first time in years.
couldn't agree more
Agreed! I also think it's cool that Guts trains with Isidro. He never trains with anybody else. It shows that Guts thinks of him like a son, or little brother or something.
You said everything i was about to say 👍🏾
Disagree at number 3
He was afraid and helpless to help anyone
Re-read please
@@gitgud4737 he was helpless during the first encounter but when the group was exiting qwilphoth he protected them with guts’ bombs and the salamander dagger. W Roderick and the pirates around along with Isma and the cutlass it seemed like he was set for a swashbuckler arc we never got.
I like Isidro. Him and Puck give the story a light heartedness that is necessary.
The problem is that levity they brought turned into mere shtick. They've both been flat characters for a while.
Now that puck is gone I doubt the light hearted parts of the story will remain
I agree, i love them two as a duo, but also still hope for isidro to get some more story and depth maybe
I hate Isidro.. He has no place being in such a dark story like berserk.. He basically ruins the dark themes with jokes and has made puck into an obnoxious character.. I honestly dont know what Miura was thinking.. Whoever wanted him to put that kind of character into the manga needs to be shot!! U prolly thought Batman v Superman was to dark as well right?
@ryanr9299 he does have a place in the story, if you cant accept some jokes in a dark themed story thats your problem. Imo he and the other people around guts symbolise well that guts has people around him now and show his character developement from being the lone guy who only fights for himself everyday
If anyone could use some of Rickert's funky weapons, it's Isidro
If Miura had plans on making Rickert and Isidro meet and Mori decides to stick with this plan, their future interactions will be pure gold!
Always liked Isidro. He's a brave little man.
Isidro is the annoying little brother that cares very deeply about you and help you and you do the same for him!
I think isodro is bout to be like guts looking for his women and fighting for her
Isodro in my top 3 serpico is next then guts
And failing to find her
@@loganyoung6487 So Donavan and Griffith are spot 1 and 2?
Isidro represents Berzerk fans; who admires and inspired by Guts to the bone, but at the same time, a vulnerable real life character. As represented when the Kushan approaches him, and he nearly got killed. Isidro is also used to represent, how Berzerk fans can follow the footsteps of Guts and be stronger. :D
Don't pretend like that rebellious youth side of you (at one point) wasn't a thing. We all grow up. So, you grow up too and appreciate Isidro.
Scheirke is like this as well for Guts, except he is a lot more gentle towards her than he is with Isidro for obvious reasons.
The moment where he allows Schierke to cling to him as she cries when they are on that beach together is where we see that guts is light years in distance from where we saw him in the Black swordsman arc. Both characters have been essential to his growth.
A big part of Gutss character is his disregarding of "childish" ideas, which was built through his understanding of how cruel his world really is, we see it in the flower chapters where Guts clings on to a wholesome happy idea of chich reaching the field with him and fights for her, reaching his hand to try and save her and still makes it there even after all hope of that positive idea was lost. So when Guts starts to soften up, we see Isidro, who is in his essence this cheerful, young, fun and positive character who imbodies a lot of the stuff Guts always disregards about himself.
Isidro was always a character I knew would have to go through something terrible, it's a challenge to his ideas and a boost to his progression as a person. Chapter 369 puts Guts and Isidro in the same state, and it will be incredible seeing how the two deal with what happened to them, personally I hope Guts can be Isidros support figure while understanding his softer side and taking some of it into himself, not letting himself disregard his "childish" ideas again and achieving something of resemblance to what his child self would have wanted, while understanding how it fits in reality. Or maybe Isidro will be what shows Guts that he shouldn't give up and the situation would be the opposite.
Well written
I don't dislike any character except Griffith and Sonia really...
Isidro is gonna be a Guts that lost Casca, but the Band of the Hawk survived to support him.
I liked Isidro since I first saw him, kiddo is literally me fr, I found it annoying that he couldn't be a great thing at the beginning of his appearance, but after the current chapter I really think he will be something everyone will look at.
I also hated how he was getting treated by the crew, like only Guts and Isma treated him good.
Did guts really treat him good though? He didnt mistreat him dont get me wrong but aside from hitting him with a stick and giving advice (which really was the least he couldve done conisdering isidro went through heaven and hell for guts and casca in conviction) what has he really done? Hes always been pretty dismissive of him despite isidro clearly showing his admiration, respect and compassion for guts on a fair few occasions. Really Puck and Isma have been the only two that have ever treated him like a human being, and now theyre gone.
What agreat video. I always loved Guts & Isidro's dynamic. I also agree about Rickert.
Isidro who finds purpose from idolizing Guts, even if he wont admit it, he wants to be like Guts.
i feel they really should focuses on the father son dynamic between Guts and Isidro.
i feel after Guts somewhat recovers from his trauma of loosing Casca and somewhat gets brought back from the murderous rampage. i feel they really should have Guts and Isidro bond more together. considering that we've got Casca's relationship with the moonlight boy but Guts clearly hates the little shit because of what and who he is tied to Isidro on the other hand is very much like Guts and i think having Guts take a similar and hopefully less abusive role as Gambino did with him would be a great way forward for Guts and a way for him to move on from Casca and that would be to train and raise Isidro.
i absolutely believe that Guts character needs to evolve beyond just Casca and Griffith and him fully embracing a father/mentor role for Isidro and fully training him up to be as good as Guts is himself (with the help of couple time skips perhaps). not to mention the blatant unrequited thing between Guts and Farnese which has been up in the air for years and never really been addressed. I reckon a potential Good ending for Guts that doesn't involve him dying taking Griffith out i think would be that he and an older Isidro end up forming their own Mercenary company.
More of a big brother lil brother relationship since Isidro is already teen but I agree
or you know, moon boy ( guts actual son ) could fill that role
@@Pandemomium4Life regardless it is still an dynamic that needs to be explored more.
i feel Guts and Casca need to go their separate ways and be their own people before being reunited because clearly both together weren't fixing each other.
You forgot to add that Gambino was drunk when he tried to kill Gut's that is important
Darth monke is one of my fav characters
I've never liked his character, but always knew why he is important for the progress of Guts as character.
When Isidro was first introduced.. I thought it's like we got Naruto in the berserk world... Hopefully he gets the growth he needs..
I can see guts and casca dying in the end isidro living his life as a fast talk swift roug cutting and slashing his way through demons to avenge there deaths
Well I think the dynamic between Guts and Isidro is more like teacher-student one rather than father-son type
I always assumed he represents the cycle continuum, history repeats itself… there will always be a Griffith, Guts, and band of hawks
i always liked ishidro
I like isidro more than i like casca
He has lots of room to grow
Great video
But goodbye for isma and puck, they will forever be remembered😔
Isidro and zenitsu has the same VA so no wonder they always run at first ehehehehe
tbh XD i didnt even really noticed him till ur vid XDXDX
Someone's gotten a +5 on dialogue upgrade.
He's gonna sneak casca out while guts wages war after his buff , same role isi played before
Calling it now it may be the shrooms but aye
Well he has Schierke now

Bro the add was so much louder than the rest of the video it woke up my dogs rip lmao
Isidro is my boy! I fear for his safety everyday 😆 I love his character!!!
besides Gutts, my favorite characters are Judeau, Rickert, Isidro, and Puck. I like Farnese out of the females..
Captions Isa draw
I think Isidro is shipping with Schierke
I like isidro
locus really???
isidro was a mistake, end of story.
Fuck! He's still alive??!?! Him and puck are making the conviction arc more dumb.. Not gonna lie.. Feels like a marvel movie trying to force humor in making it worse..
He replaces Corkus as the hated person
14K 1y 82.1K subs
Didn’t that there’s people out there that didn’t like isidro. I always really liked him
Cmon Farnese is still weaker than him too. Don’t underestimate my boi
I don’t hate Isidro I just find his comic relief moments annoying sometimes
Think about your feelings on lady Farnese, now imagine playing the long game with that character arc with Isidro. It’s gunna be a banger ending.
5th!
People don't like Isidro? Wack
Its obvious that Nuts is going to end up selling Isidro for 3 silver coins
outjerked yet again
Natsu*
I hope puck ends up being a godhand member
🤣well he already has his betchy
Well he got thanos snapped out of existence
Isidro not only lost Isma but also Puck. Apart from the black swordsman arc, Puck has interacted the most with Isidro almost like his best friend. This is almost like a mini eclipse for him, losing his Judeau and also his Casca. Won't be surprised if he goes the dark path and Guts of all people bring Isidro to the light and also realizes the same for himself. Guts could be the good father figure he never had.
Your channel is goated bro keep up the awesome content
I always thought of Isidro as the kid Guts could have been if he didn't have such a tragic and traumatic childhood and I headcanon that Guts himself thought of that and that's why he kept him around
Now that Isidro lost Isma, I think he'll start to be more serious, angry and reckless, hoping that Guts will now have more of a father/son dynamic with him (even if Guts is at his lowest at the moment)
Isidro is a great character. He's still a kid after all with lofty goals. He will become strong.
my boy really suffer in less than 2 chapters i hope the behelit is not for him and use it for having his waifu back
you disrespecting rickert saying he didn’t have anything memorable until fantasia the hill of swords made guts completely reflect on how he was living his life after the eclipse he arguable did the most important thing for guts development into who we see now
i always liked isidro and i pray for his safety all the time 😁
I fuckin LOVE my Lil mini guts!
Well he did want to be like guts.
I dunno about you but ive always respected the shit out of Isidro and admired him for the things most people hate him for. I think the fact that after all the shit hes seen and gone through he can still not only be a kind person but still so much as smile is goddamn impressive. People always say Isidro's had it too easy, completely ignoring the fact that this kid at ~11 years old has been surviving in berserk's world by himself. Hes been going to sleep everyday not knowing if hell wake up the next morning freezing, and starving, witnessing atrocities no human should ever be forced to witness on an hourly basis, going days without food and drink, being called anything and everything by full grown men trying to constantly kill him and on top of all that, its implied that Isidro grew up in a pretty abusive home. Out of the entire cast I'd argue that hes probably had the roughest childhood behind Guts, even including Casca and Serpico (Though Isma is a close contender)
He has every right to be a cynical jaded nihilist exploiting and manipulating desperate people like him to score some food or what have you, but instead hes one of the kindest characters in the manga. He fights off an entire cult singlehandedly to save Nina and Casca, followed Guts into the tower of conviction to get them back, dove from what looks like a 12 storey wall into flames to get casca out, fought a horde of trolls and crew of slavers to help Schierke, distracted a Makara to save Guts, led the elfhelm evacutation and never expected, or got, a single bit of recognition for any of it, by the characters or us. The fact that this guy still does his best, has any bit of optimism and goofiness isn't a flaw, its a display of resilience. The only two people who have ever treated Isidro like a human being and not an animal pet following them around were Puck and later Isma, and now theyre both gone too. Dude might be at a bit of a breaking point and I dont think anyone in the party at the moment is gonna help him.
interesting
the chussy
I’ve always loved him, he’s Amaya’s got guys’d back and Steiger yo fights with little explosions, he really grew on me more as the ma ha went on
He be like enough being malnourished, he then starts doing pushups and etc.
Isidro is child guts without the loss of innocence
Great video!
Real Berserk died with Miura Nuserk is just bad, barely 15% of what it used to be
Wrong Berserk is in good hands

Literally how? Aside from Bubbles of Futility and Casca's dreamscape this has easily been the best part of the Fantasia arc.
