Those 2D shots looked better than this, most of the time, but LowkeyMochi was right about these cutscenes being more accurate to Miura's style. When it comes to colours, and shot composition, editing, grittiness, tone and so forth, this feels like it's exactly how Miura would want it. It'd be great if there was a PS4 port, with improved textures and models. That said, I don't think accurate necessarily means good, the Ghost In The Shell animated movie is a testament to that. Talking about how good the 2D shots were in the new anime, the Blu Ray version is planned to have a lot of the CGI replaced with new 2D animation. When that comes out, I'll definitely be giving the series another try.

These cutscene 3D models from the ps2 era stands a good test of time, the art style is very close to the manga's characters, animation and art style feels much better than the new anime. That talks a lot about the artists that worked on this ps2 game. Wish they could use these models and animations for the series.

This is a different method of animation with different objectives. Berserk 2016 makes heavy usage of 3d models that poorly attempt to look like 2d anime animation because the studio that's making that trash is completely unmotivated and unskilled but this game was meant to look like a game.
My uncle had this game. He was a big japenese games fan. He discovered this game at 2009 and he loved it. He discovered there was a comic about so he read it. Berserk is his favourite manga of all time. He share this manga with me. My uncle is the best.

I had this game and 100% it back in 2010, the characters modeling is surprisingly really good for a ps2 game. I really loved that little fairy thing " Puck " so cute! even though the game is really dark and bloody but puck manage to put some comedy in the game.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Not overall of course, but this generally felt good watching. Sure the movies had some kick ass animation here and there but it also had a lot of at least equally laughable flaws. And thats just the animation, dont even get me started on the cuts and changes in the story. And thats the bigger issue if you ask me.

The movie looks better than the movie. I was telling me friends that if the movie quality transitioned to the anime (which it should have come on it's cheap ass fucking CGI) the anime wouldn't be too bad. It makes me upset that the quality was greatly downgraded.

The Berserk series has been ongoing for 27 years since it began, I think the berserk series will end at Volume 50. Which I assume that after this arc of the elf island, there will be one more arc after this which will end the series, I can see that when guts see's The elf king, Guts will be set free from the brand of sacrifice for he had for a while. To be able to defeat Griffith and the god hand. Guts cannot defeat them, because darkness cannot win against darkness, especially with the berserker armour which is the representation of darkness. I imagine that guts will receive a new armour, new power that doesn't cause harm to himself like the berserker armour. Guts will transform from darkness to light from the support of the Elf King, to be able to defeat Griffith and the God Hand. Also Kentaro Miura interview in the year 2000. The interviewer ask Kentaro a question and said "Is it even possible that we’ll see a happy ending? And Kentaro said "I’d say it’s possible. I used to have the final moves planned out, but lately I’ve been thinking I’d rather figure them out when I come to it, so now it’s hard to say what could happen. Being the sort of person I am, though, I actually don’t think I could let such a long grim story end with a grim ending - like, say, having him suddenly die. This game is a much better tribute to Berserk than the new anime. Even the lyrics of the opening kinda fit the story, and that's something you wouldn't expect from a game.

BH2ify Well, Puck was making contact with him. Puck constantly releases elf dust, which would heal him on contact... so... that kind of is first aid. The armour dealt with any broken bones of course.
I really liked the subplot about that noble boy who became an apostle. Every time I see any Berserk material I get thirstier for the ending! I just wan't to see how it will end and if I'm right about certain things. Man troll entrails Slan is so creepy! Slan is the creepiest most unnerving member of the god hand anyway imo and frankly the only one who I consider genuinely unsettling.

They could use the models, but the current animators of Berserk 2016 wouldn't know what to do with them.

I dont think madhouse will pick it up unfortunately... I think David productions might be the the most realistic and best choice... I could actually see them taking it on AND doing it extremely well

I was looking up the references to Berserk in Dark Souls. I thought the Four Kings were most likely a reference to these Holy 4 Kings, but now i got this image in front on me. This so obviously inspired Ingward and the layer of the roof of New Londo's church where he is found: put this image on inverted lighting and you get a dark near-replica.
1:06:00 Truth be told, Grunbeld should've died in the manga too. It's called a *DRAGONSLAYER* for a reason y'know.
Not to mention i don't remember what noteworthy things Grunbeld did after this fight, like what he introduced some of the kids to his band or he's seen attacking Ganishka?
He should've died here and i'm glad the PS2 game goes through with this idea.

This game is a much better tribute to Berserk than the new anime. Even the lyrics of the opening kinda fit the story, and that's something you wouldn't expect from a game.

Well, Puck was making contact with him. Puck constantly releases elf dust, which would heal him on contact... so... that kind of is first aid.
The armour dealt with any broken bones of course.

I really liked the subplot about that noble boy who became an apostle. Every time I see any Berserk material I get thirstier for the ending! I just wan't to see how it will end and if I'm right about certain things. Man troll entrails Slan is so creepy! Slan is the creepiest most unnerving member of the god hand anyway imo and frankly the only one who I consider genuinely unsettling.
I almost thought the tutorial was gonna be in the Eclipse. That would have been awesome!
