    Very nice and very well informing👍👍👍 I have axolotls for 25 years now. The oldest became 17 years and produced 7 times eggs that resulted in 100+ babies. Now I'm in the process of building a 500liter tank. Your channel is an inspiration for building your own aquarium. Thank you and keep on going❤

    So cool to see this. I've been having axo's for 25 years. Oldest became 17years old whit a lot of offspring. Now I struggle to keep them😢. None the juvenile once (2/3cm torso's) make it to become full size. Yesterday may latest one past away. Food/PH/hiding places etc all perfect. I can't figure out what I do wrong😢? I love them and always put there health above my own. Animals you know. It hurts to go to this stage of the love and hobby towards the axo. I'll hope I can recreate the past and start breathing them again......

    I forgot to add to my previous comment.... the axo does not like heavy waterflow. Get a big filter, as big as possible whit out creating a heavy flow. Add on some plants. Plant base filtration will help you a lot. Especially whit fast growing plants who like water. Ferns and sweat potatoes are very good. Also waterplants which do not need to much light. If you do this right you can have the axo for over 10+years. Believe me, my oldest became 17years old and produced 100+ successfully pups.

    Also do not forget to keep a low temperature in the aquarium. 21°C maximum, the can suffer from heat stress. In the summer I'm changing 33%of the water every other day. Conditioned water. You can save it your water in bottles and cool them down in the fridge. Be care full so that it feels like a rainstorm, natural cooling. And if you have the money you can use a filter whit inbuilt cooling. But they are expensive

    • @ferretwonderland
      @ferretwonderland  Год назад

      Great advice! Maintaining a low temperature in the aquarium is crucial, and your tip of keeping it at a maximum of 21°C to prevent heat stress is spot on. I appreciate the reminder about water changes, and the idea of conditioning and chilling water in bottles for a 'rainstorm effect' is a thoughtful touch. It's good to know about filters with built-in cooling, although they can be pricey. Thanks for sharing your insights and tips for keeping our aquatic friends happy and healthy!

    It's so sad they will probably die because of the gravel you used for the aquarium.
    They swallow everything they can fit in their mouth and sadly the gravel (if its enough large/badly shaped) stays in them so it's not possible to p**p for them. That is the reason why a lot of owners prefer clear bottom (with some plants and hidding places of course) or some fine sand. As well as sharp decorations are not good idea.
    I am sorry if my english kinda sucks, but I find the info important for you or people who will find these animals enough curious to keep them on their own. :)
