He just called the guy his son in a beautiful moment then he shows up and jokes about the time he got his back broken in a traumatic way and about the fact he just got maimed by animals. The writer only had to change one word to do all that. I mean he did it for a quick gag, but there's no way they considered how that affects the story.
Maybe this is the best time for superman to, idk, like fly through a couple 50 suns and come back 100 times stronger or something?? Or maybe flash can go back in time to warn everyone about the following events? Like come on, do the authors forget these god like beings they have? I swear one day there might be a comic where robin takes over the world
