@@april147 Me too, apart from kind of understanding they were replacing the rock on which the coral attach itself, I didn't get why this would help and what was actually the process to save coral. There are probably several steps to restore coral reefs. I saw a nice video about it a while ago on cgtn channel where they were showing how they were "planting" grown coral onto existing coral reefs.
@@wiiistful7499 It's great that people are caring more about coral reefs but i hope they won't fill the ocean with more plastic. Some months ago i saw a video where they used oyster coral reefs to tackle ocean erosion and it seemed a natural way.
@@april147 People don't really care about anything you know. They only care about their way of life and how to keep what they already have and get more. We care about the environment, but we still are on the internet, using our car to go on vacation, using airplane to cover long distance. Change can only happen if : 1-responsible governance, promote healthy change to better the future 2-understanding / supporting citizens, to comply with new laws and regulations even if it hurts their personal interest. In most developed countries, one of the two are always stucking change, when it's not both side that are not willing to change things. You can clearly see that with climate change has everybody knew by mid 1970s that climate change was real and a serious problem for the future. Now on the side of China, seen the CPC's satisfaction rate, I'm quite optimist that if the CPC is competent and responsible, China will solve its ecological crisis before 2050. Moreover, knowing that Chinese people are already facing climate change effect on a yearly basis, and Chinese are not very forgiving. I think we saw the same video about using oyster to heal coral reefs.
There’s only one way to restore the coral reefs around the world and that’s to stop the overfishing by the humungous Chinese fishing fleet which drags the ocean bottoms and destroys all fishing habitats and destroys fish nurseries. Or, like in Fiji, they just blow up the reefs with dynamite to make a passageway to a casino they want to build there.

Coral reefs consist of living creatures. Plastic reefs seem to just take up space that could be real reefs. Where's the real solution of the loss of coral reefs?
problem is, how do we commercialize this? how do we feed those people who work for us, and why would someone invest if its only spend not return? I think she needs improve archiREEF maybe with some Sauce, or a way to actually earn income so that archiREEF can exist for longer, and funded by the will of people.
Sad you don't spend more time explaining what archiREEF does exactly.
i was also looking forward to see how it actually works!
