NEW SERIES IDEA!!!! Better or Best: in this series you will list all the coasters in the park and rank them all until there are only 2 left. when there are only 2 left you will rank them by their stats and the rides you got on them if you have ever ridden them. after you rank the 2 coasters by their stats and the rides youve got on them you will choose which coaster is better and then you will say if you think its the best in the park or if its better than most coasters at the park but its not the best. (you can do this for parks like cedar point, kings island, SFMM, and many more) I think this is a great idea for a brand new series!

My wife and I rode dominator when it first opened as Batman at G. Lake. It was awesome and I hope we can make to Kings Dominion for our first visit this summer. Can’t wait to ride it again with my wife and our son.

Scooby Doo was my second coaster credit at age 8 but was the first coaster I actually enjoyed. It was the only coaster I would get on in the park at that age and it's actually a wonder that I did seeing as how I was put on Space Mountain at Disney World as a 4 year old. I wouldn't get on another coaster besides Scooby Doo until I was 13 when I rode the Loch Ness Monster. I'm glad Woodstock Express is still around no matter what they call it.
I'll be at KD in about a month and a half. Then going down to Carowinds. Can't wait to get back on I305!

3:30 as of right now it is being retracked and updated, such as Montezoomas Revenge (it isn't known yet if they'll put LSMs, but everything points it to continue to be a weight drop launch). Easily best coaster in Brazil
King Kobra was my first looping coaster back in 1984 😏
Rode king cobra as a kid. Shockwave was a ball buster and back breaker. Rebel Yell was awesome as a kid but jack hammered me in 2019.
The Scooby Doo is a classic coaster, it was always the first one we rode when we visited the park. I'm fairly certain it's the first roller coaster I ever rode.

I305 pulls so many g forces I can understand how it’s pacing is super high on the list
It pulls those forces because it rips through the layout. If they’d cut off the trim break it would have been higher on this list.

And you did get me, Chris. About halfway through I thought to myself, "He forgot Galaxi..." Galaxi was one of my first coasters (Scooby-Doo/Woodstock was my first). I had to have been 5 or 6.
I hope to 100% all credits this park this year, btw. I'm going to take my nephew to KD and, hopefully, he'll ride Taxi Jam/Great Pumpkin Coaster, the final credit I need. Although my memory of riding Galaxi is so hazy, it's almost a "Did I actually ride this?" situation....
I definitely get the hazy thing. That was me with Hurler in 08. I rode it but was it memorable? Nah

KD brings back those memories of Rebel Yell in the 70s being my first wood coaster ever, King Cobra, Grizzly, thank god its getting worked on, I don’t like Anaconda, Flight of Fear, never got to Volcano, rode Shockwave there when it opened, thought it was cool for first kind. I didnt like Hurler, but I havent been back for a good while cause of the crowds, you have people from MD, VA, WV, DC all within 2 hrs of KD.
Always love entries into this series. I only wish you'd more often show the side by side of Prime Ride Time against Pacing like in the Magic Mountain video. I love nerding out over the numbers.

I’m ready to go to this park. I have KI as my home park. My brother moved down to Virginia so we’re going there this year. Curious to see how it is. I’ve heard of this park all of my life
I used to have KD as my home park and never been to KI.
I grew up with KD as my home park and I actually had relatives that we visited in Cincinnati. I remember freaking out a little when we drove by the park on the highway. We never actually went to the park on those visits though. My uncle used to try to scare me when he talked about Beast.
Such a great time when I finally visited the park in 2014. My mind kept on getting mixed up walking around the park because it kept on wanting to orientate the layout to KD.
Glad this park is getting this always been curious about the history since it’s the park I’ve been to the most since a kid

Yeah, I didn't think an SDC Galaxi would top the list for ride time. I didn't know they had one in the past. Those are good family coasters, but I'll take a crazier ride with shorter ride durations over it. I am surprised at Hypersonic's pacing. I figured with the strong launch & shorter ride, that it would have better pacing than Volcano, with how Volcano seemed to slowly go around the mountain.
I have fond memories of King Cobra. I rode it one time after a brief rain shower and on the outbound trip, we hit the stop at the end of the track. It was a very quiet ride back into the station. Flight of Fear was actually a lot of fun. I was never able to ride Volcano because it was broken down on the three separate visits I made to the park. Too bad.

I swear man, your videos really brighten my evenings to watch, they are so much fun. Maybe we will hook up at one of the parks this coming season. I am headed down to Venice Florida on Saturday, flying down, long time there, can’t do the parks though, my hips and back bugging me, I’ve ridden the meanest coasters with my replaced right hip, fused neck levels 3-7, other hip needs work, and, over 35 injections in the back the last 3 years, but guess, I still rode Iron Gwazi, Steel Vengeance, Valravyn,…..etc. So, I go with the flow, just depends on my body, but, my son and I plan to go to Hershey for Wildcats Revenge, will only give me 3 RMC credits, CP is possible, same with Dorney and Carowinds and Kennywood and KD and maybe BGW, but doubt that one, they are all within 2-8 hrs in driving to different parks cause I am right off I81 and I70 comes together.
You seem to be in a good spot at least. Anywhere east of Kentucky seems to be good if you want to be driving distance of tons of great parks

We went over the summer. My boys did every coaster they had open. It was a weekday so it was empty. We only had to wait for front rows.
Same, we went on a very nice weekday in July and everything had basically no line
Alwayz a fun series to watch, the #1 was definitely a surprise.
I-305 Is a speed machine and definitely the #2nd best Dale Earnhardt based coaster in America.
If I had to describe this park after the loss of Volcano in just one word, It's at the 0:12 Mark 🤗

I was surprised that woodstock express was faster than tumbili even if only slightly.
Kings Dominion was the closest thing to a home park I had when I was a kid, but I was completely thrill-phobic at the time and never rode the coasters. My sister still lives near there but the last time I was there was *before* The Lost World became Volcano.
There were actually multiple rides inside the fake mountain, and Smurf Mountain was one of them, though that was a conversion of an earlier kiddie dark ride called "The Land of Dooz". The others were a horror-themed water ride and a Rotor/Gravitron type ride.
Crazy to have multiple rides in there. I would have liked to see that
@@AirtimeThrills It was kind of like Mount Prometheus at Tokyo DisneySea. Disney has had a lot of plans for this kind of multi-ride structure but Kings Dominion actually did it.

You have the chance to put any coaster into a park you're building. What are the 15 coasters you choose. Keep in mind it's gotta be a park that can survive more than 2 years. Gotta have "family friendly" rides.
I really feel bad for KD. Everything has gone wrong but not because of anything they did. Hurler was a mess, the get that going, Volcano ends up being so bad they have to remove it. I305 is just simply too intense for the GP (I hope they do something with it like remove the lift and turn it into a launch or cut the lift down and make it a lift / launch). Grizzly ends up so bad, that's being re-tracked. Anaconda is about done so they'll need to do something there. Man that's a lot for CF to tackle, it's a really nice park it must be frustrating for CF.
CF has really cleaned house there. In 15 years it should be cleaned out and renovated though. Like no Anaconda, all the crap coasters having been properly replaced
Volcano had two launch sections. The one at the beginning, then a booster just before the vertical section out the top of the mountain.
Yep they added that 2nd one after it opened, didnt think they needed it at first
And that second launch was always the biggest maintenance issue for the park.

Intamin would be the obvious choice but Gerstlauer is opening a launched invert this year so maybe they could have done it

@@AirtimeThrills That would only work if Cedar Fair pulls it’s collective head out of its own backside and work with Intamin again. I know they don’t like purchasing prototypes, but ever since the S&S Axis concept was introduced I’ve felt like that would be a perfect fit, especially if launched. KD also does need a suspended coaster and if they aren’t going to work with Intamin, they could maybe hopefully work with Vekoma. It’s definitely time for Vekoma to make a big US comeback beyond Disney and now Dollywood.

I’m a stat nerd and coaster fanatic, so this series is perfect for me! Kings Dominion is, overall, a good park, but doesn’t come close to parks like Dollywood and BGW.
Even though it's never had as many coasters BGW has always been the far better park IMO.
BGW is overhyped and overpriced, and the park is pretty filthy these days. SeaWorld has done a number on it, or lack of $numbers.
@@scottnelson9 I’ve seen the Oktoberfest area before Mäch Tower opened, (via outdated Google Earth) and it is definitely more lively than it is now. However, I will still never get sick of going there!

@@AirtimeThrills it is my all time favorite coaster. I don't care that it is much rougher than it was when it opened. It gave me thrill I will never replicate and for that reason, it will always be my number 1.

They use to give kings island and kings domain similar coasters but now they are very different and kings island is the way better park seems like they use to be closer to each other
I feel like KI was always treated a bit better than KD. There was always a bit of bias as KI has a higher guest count with less competition within driving range. Cedar Point is their main competitor. KD has to compeat with BGW, Six Flags America, Carowinds, Hersheypark, and Dollywood all within a one to six hour drive.
Cedar Fair really started this...KECO and Paramount were pretty even handed
