The Jungemann wrote lyrics for Preussen's gloria, and now for Luftwaffe march? And he sung it with that voice of his? I mus say the guy is not only gifted once, but gifted twice. Creativity to write lyrics, and good voice to sing. He's gifted.
This isn't originally a Luftwaffe march - it's a British march written by a British composer for a British film. It is interesting to note that two German composers reciprocated about 15 years later with Highland Cathedral, a bagpipe slow march composed originally for a Highland Games in Berlin
Strangely enough...I was searching for a Trad Jazz/Dixieland version of this. Loved this 'tune" from way back in the day. Saw the movie many times....my brother and I had an L.P. full of these wonderful movie themes. But this? I never heard! Sounds so ,so beautiful this way....thank you for posting.....danke schoen.

@@simjak_sk it's actually a British march composed by a British composer for a British film. In the same vein that Highland Cathedral isn't Scottish despite being written for the bagpipes, but a German song written by a pair of German composers for one of the Highland Games in Germany in 1982
@@simjak_sk also the Spey was one of the jet engine designs used on board the F-4 Phantom, which both the RAF and the Luftwaffe operated during the 1970s and '80s
Who composed the German Lyrics? Typical German Lied style...not a translation of English ( rather the other way around). Just like the Imperial Japanese Army Battotai March, still used today bythe JSDF for Parades...this March, even though composed by a Brit for a Film, should have been adopted by BRD in the 1970s to denote the historicity of The Luftwaffe. ( Similarly Panzerlied and Erika...)
God forgive us all for liking this song. Then I think of all those white crosses at Normandy. May there be no more wars fought ever again. Someday, peace.

The modern day Luftwaffe should (if it hasn’t already)adopt dieses lied as it’s official theme…”Lang lebe die Luftwaffe”
