Nearly 6 years old, the iPhone XR will run iOS 18- pretty impressive for what wasn't even Apple's major flagship option in 2018. Anyone using the XR? How's it working for you?
@@DarkLatexKing I still use an XR (it was my dads phone and when he upgraded he gave it to me) and it still works fine for the most part, my battery is at 80% capacity which is pretty good but I do experience lag sometimes but the biggest issue is how HOT the phone gets at times. Overall works fine but I do want to upgrade eventually I just don't have the money too and my mom isn't interested in upgrading me either.
I am not complaining much but Apple made their new A.I features of IOS 18 only available on the latest and greatest Iphone so for people who really want these features will have no choice but to buy the newest Iphone anyway.Kind of a douche move but it's Apple we are talking about so I am not surprised to be honest.
I still had an XR after iPhone 6 Plus (not mentioning about a small android phone cuz it’s stupid). This iPhone was my favorite one, but still I like using it.
The iPhone XR is my first iPhone, which I have had since November 1, 2018, and I still use it as my daily phone. It is a great phone and I will use it until it breaks or when apps no longer support it.
@@faizzulhilmi Yeah I'm probably going to end up bumping up in the next year or so... But not any earlier unless somethng REAALLY bad happens (and I can actually repair the screen myself for like $20 so smashing the screen isn't an issue for me).
i actually upgraded from a XR to a 13 about a month ago. The screen was an insane different between the two phone, and the speed is noticeable too. Also went from 64gbs to 128gbs
I bought XR for my mom 3 years ago. It still performing well day to day, but expect noticeable slower performance due to ever increasing demand in resources for apps nowadays. Battery health is at 79% and currently deciding to get battery replacement or giving her my 14 Pro instead when 16 Pro comes out. Another issue with XR is the famous image retention issues after years of using it. I'm disappointed because my older XS with OLED doesn't have any sign of burn in on it. LCD should last longer than OLED.
The XR might not have had MagSafe but while Apple and carriers were still selling the XR and 11 some manufacturers released cases for the XR/11 with MagSafe (and later for the SE 2nd/3rd gen).
Magsafe chargers are compatible with the XR and SE2 as well as 11 but only QI wireless charging is only supported, so a Magsafe charger to those phones are just no more than a regular QI wireless charger.
I had an orange one. I remember seeing reviews that all mentioned "Those Bezels, that screen!" so I went to a phone store and they had the XS, XS Max, and XR on display next to each other and the XR looked fine, so I bought one. Despite the simple camera I did get some really good photos from it, enough that a I printed and framed some. I'm an Android person though so went back when the Pixel 4a came out.
I still use my iPhone XR 6 years later with iOS 18 with 76% battery health. It still fails to disappoint me in day-to-day tasks like social media consumption, light gaming and even content creation. Sure it does slow down 6 years later but still going strong.
Not an iphone user, but I have a buddy who uses the XR up until now (probably still going until Sept 2024). Still going strong, battery health at 80%, a bit choppy on the performance but manageable. The one thing that he complains the most is definitely the overheating, and I kid you not, it is pretty toasty. We live at Southeast Asia, and its all warm and damp here, no snows, just rain and sun, all year long. He had it since 2019 (a year after the release but it is still old, stg). Mad respect for this phone, still able to sustain MLBB like a champ, and probably will do so for another year or two. From his words, its not worth the "budget iphone" option, a lot of stuff XR is getting outdated, and it's pretty much an ip 11 with one camera (literally). Might as well go for an 11. He also suggested me to get the 12 if I was to have an ip as my second phone. But we'll see how, I guess. Not a fan, but definitely deserved the recognition. XR is probably the peak iphone of its era, and I stand by that forever
It feels weird seeing this being 6 years old its the XR and not the X but i do remember that around the time a lot of people were talking about the fact they removed the home button now its quite hard to find a smartphone with one
For those experiencing slowdowns on XR, just disable auto update in app store settings. Installing apps in the background is the biggest culprit when it comes to bad performance just manually update apps while it’s on charge or something and don’t use it when it’s updating
@@yfkfernandoWell changing the battery would’ve changed that yk 😄 But still after that long it’s relatable to upgrade. I just recently changed the battery of my iPhone 11 and it works like a champ again…
@@campolindo18i did the same i have the 12 pro currently i got the battery changed a couple months ago and it’s like a new phone plan to keep until the 16’s or later
I miss having the iPhone XR but man it’s been a great phone for me before I switched to the iPhone 12 and now I own the iPhone 15, I probably get it just as part of collection but man being my dream iPhone it was decent.
yo i know ths is very shameful act but if there comes a time that you wanna dispose them, i hope i can get one if it’s okay with you. i only own the 7 cause i cant afford even the xr, but you dont have to brother if you wanna keep em :))
Watching from a Xr 64gb bought in 2021. Current battery life is 83 percent. Hoping to upgrade in a few months. Still working good, every now and then it freezes but not often. Camera is great. Just running low on storage from too many apps.
I’d still be using the XR if I hadn’t cracked the screen 2 years ago. Been using the 14 pro max since, and while I love the upgrade, it was the XR that truly convinced me to stick with iOS.
Nice had the same model bought in 21 as well my battery lately was dying fast so I upgraded in oct 24. I went with plus model it was on sale and the pro models are heavy that I’d begin to notice.. pros are great but ppl sleep on plus model phones. IMO my buddy has pro and 120hz is barely noticeable. To me all iPhones are same to a degree. A 14 or 15 plus is a bigger battery & bigger screen that is an upgrade I can experience and notice
got mine in 2018 and still use it to this day. battery health is 88 percent after getting a new battery over 2 years ago. I have no plans on upgrading.
I came on to see if it worth me getting a new battery for my xr , I find it the perfect phone , just my luck though I’ll spend on a new battery and then it’ll stop getting updates 😂 so far it’s on the latest ios
Had a SE series 2 for 2 years before it cracked & caught water damage, now on the XR, it felt like a upgrade despite it being older than the SE I love the screen & curves/face ID. It lasts as long as I need for battery, with me mostly using my phone for Spotify & Texting/social media scrolling.
My mother has a 256 gig XR which my father used previously and it's doing pretty much fine except having a somewhat bad battery. And there was something funny happened few years back. One day out of nowhere some weird black line was slowly emerging from the display and I thought my mom probably have dropped it and she told me she haven't.. The lines grew larger day by day and suddenly after few months the lines were gone. But the edges of the screen is now starting to get greenish. The early signs of the display dying. But all I can say is that the Xr is more reliable than modern iPhones. Heck we even had to replace the display of the 13 Pro because it went off out of the blue. Which is total crap. Never happened with older iphones though..
XR was our first iphone. We were happy using XR until 2024. Sadly we were forced to migrate to 14 because my town and nearby cities are getting worse and worse LTE reception to a point that we may lost connection for hours. The phone is stil seeing one to two bar of signals. But, there could be no data connections when we try to access the web. We were lucky to have the 128gb version. The XR UI feels reasonably responsive even at the latest iOS today. Battery heath were 96+ we last checked. I remember during these years we moved quite a few towns and countrirs. In some places, our XR receptions were always not the best when comparing with other newer iphones or Samsung. In a lot of cases when XR temp lost connections, our other phones were still capable of receiving messages and sending pictures. If LTE reception is not an issue, XR is a very decent iphone even on 2024.
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming is a technique used to control the brightness of a display or LED by adjusting the duration of pulses of light. It rapidly turns the light source on and off at a frequency, and the ratio of on-time to off-time determines the perceived brightness While it is a useful approach, extended exposure to high-frequency PWM displays can induce eye strain, headaches, and discomfort@@shaukatalimhlongo787y
@shaukatalimhlongo787y Pulse Width Modulation, it's something that affects around 10% of the population and causes a headache when viewing OLED displays that use PWM to adjust their brightness, which is means the display flicker at different speeds at different brightness levels and for most displays the screen flickering slow enough is usually at the lower brightness levels (usually 30%) or less. The screen flickering also at higher brightness levels doesn't affect these individuals because it flickers to quickly to be visible to the human eye. Finally, most manufacturers mitigate this issue by using other methods to control the brightness of the screen such as DC Dimming: DC dimming uses a constant voltage to control the brightness of the screen, rather than PWM. Higher PWM Frequencies: Higher PWM frequencies can reduce the perception of flicker and improve eye comfort. Hybrid Dimming: Hybrid dimming combines PWM with DC dimming to reduce the effects of PWM. Hope I helped you understand.
@@gehadsheha4775 Great explanation! I’m one of the 10%. Gutted to hear the SE 4 will likely be OLED, denying millions of iPhone users access to new phones 🫤
I’ve had my XR for over 5 years and it still holds up well. It lasted me all throughout uni and I have so many great memories with it, however nowadays it’s just too slow and battery health is below 70%. Looking forward to change it soon for a newer pro phone. Not having a telephoto lens just doesn’t do it for me nowadays
I keep my XR as a backup phone. I also replaced the battery about a 1.5 yrs ago. It's still great but hardly use it.. it does feel a bit hefty... but as a back up its fine... I'll wait with the beta for it, cause that would probably ruin the battery.
I've been using this XR for so long now; my prior iPhone was a 7, and it was my first. I'm about to upgrade, probably to a 15 Pro Max now that I'm an adult with actual money to spend. It was a good run. The XR exceeded my humble expectations and saved me a lot of money when I needed it. Unfortunately, it has really started to slow down. Opening/switching/closing apps has gotten worse and worse, to the point where lag can sometimes end up being 5+ full seconds of frozen screen. I tend to let RUclips video essays play in the background, but this practice now regularly overheats my iPhone. The one thing I gotta give it credit for, though, is the battery. I've never had any issues with battery life on this XR, even today. If new ones had no battery improvement, I'd honestly have no issues with it. Thankfully, the battery has still improved, so this upgrade should feel like switching from an iPad Mini to a MacBook Pro
The XR is still great after my 4y of use didn’t replace battery and still at 87% it’s smooth it places games well, the only thing is the camera not matching the new iPhones. It rarely lags and I don’t even feel the need to upgrade right now
Hello there, can i ask you something? Im planning to buy this phone, can you please tell me if apps like Facebook Instagram viber WhatsApp and RUclips runs ok? My fear is that Apple stop supporting the device and these apps stop working.. Sorry for my English, hope you understand me .. Thank you in advance!! Ill appreciate your answer..
@@hercules-86Hey buddy, I have the Same handset along with 87% battery life. I got it in 2020. As far as I know, XR should get 2 more software support & then security updates for a year or two. You will be able to use it till 2027-28. After that developers will stop supporting it. Post that you can buy a new phone & use XR as a secondary device (for calling & texting).
@thewonderer9551 Hey hello there my friend, appreciate your answer.. Really helpful! But I've already ordered iPhone 8 plus 256 gb with battery health 100%(cause of my limited budget).. Do you believe that this phone will continue work for a year or two? No games, just browsing, social media, viber and WhatsApp.. Is iPhone 8 plus a good device? Any advice would be great! My XR is a hand me down from my steph dad and it still has the original battery at 79% it only runs out fast if I do stuff like extensive social media scrolling and RUclips, but I have a desktop for those things now so I’m still happy with it as is.
I was using an iPhone XR from its release in 2018 until this past September when I upgraded to an iPhone 13. It was a very good phone, I just felt it was time to upgrade, but I didn’t want to get the absolute newest thing.
I’ve been Rockin iPhone Xr for 5yrs not a scratch on her, she’s been awesome the glass hardware is my favourite body of any iPhone i will keep her as long as possible won’t update to iOS 18 tho she only has 64gigs & i think iOS 17.7 will be her final update that being said i hope to keep Rockin her with any luck for at least 2 more yrs her battery life is at 85% so i will nurse her as long as possible! iPhone XR Is a Beauty
Yeah I have an iPhone 11 as my daily but I have an iPhone X in my collection and I’m debating on using it until I get myself an iPhone 12 or newer, even though the iPhone X can only run iOS 16 the OLED is worth the trade off
My mother bought her XR back in 2018 to upgrade from a Note 5 that was glitchy. She still uses it and probably will keep using it until it can no longer get software updates
just upgraded from a xr i've used for 5 years now to the 15 pro max (yeah i know the 16 is coming out i got a good deal on it) and it's truly life changing. be warned everyone i know (myself included) that had an xr had a case of a dead charging port, so if you're buying one be cautious or keep a wireless charger around.
Upgraded to iOS 18 on my iPhone XR 64 gig. No issue whatsoever. Upgrade it without a thought! Battery health was at 82% on iOS 17 and surprisingly it stayed the same and did not reduce on iOS 18.
Watching this on a iPhone XR that’s been with me for about 4 1/4 years. On iOS 18. Just got the battery replaced for the first time the other day. Battery doesn’t last quite all day with heavy use but not terrible. It’s definitely the biggest thing that would make me consider upgrading. The phone does lag a bit sometimes. (Delayed keyboard typing, animations pausing, etc.) It was really bad before I had the battery replaced. But now it’s much better but still a little laggy. Some apps definitely chug. Most of them seem like they should run fine, the apps just seem to be poorly optimized. (The McDonalds app is especially bad). Overall, I just graduated from college so I’m gonna wait until a I get a job and keep it for about a year before I consider upgrading.
I use the XR daily as a RetroArch emulator. I play all my Nintendo GameBoy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, NES and SNES games on it. It can even play Playstation 1 and Playstation Portable really smoothly. It's awesome with an 8BitDo Lite 2 bluetooth controller. I keep both devices in a little satchel and it goes everywhere with me. I've since had an iPhone 12 and now an iPhone 14 but I like having my XR with me as it helps not to drain my actual phone's battery.
With these older iPhones if you want to full performance you need to change your region to france. Otherwise it throttles. I have a XR with 77% of remaining battery health and its still fine and doesn't randomly shutdown.
Im planning to restore a broken xr for my mom the total cost of everything the parts and the phone is a 160€ , i have experience repairing phones should i do it
Had an XR on 83% battery life but it wouldn’t even last 9 hours. My XR would go from 100% to like 15% in 8 hours. I was given a 12 Pro Max for free a few months ago and took the upgrade as it had a much better battery and the storage amount was way more than what my XR had. My 12 Pro Max goes from 100% to 80% in 8 hours and the battery health is at 89%. I then got a 15 Pro Max to try out but sold it as my 12 was already the phone I needed. I’ll only upgrade really if I need to that’s if my 12 has major issues. I got my XR back in October 2020 and used it till November 2023.
I got a used iPhone XS in nearly mint condition in Jan of 2021, I got the battery changed from 3rd party in 2022 end. I truly have no reason to upgrade. It's smooth, it gets the job done and I actually spend the money to buy an M2 Air than a new phone. I will only upgrade when Apple shops shipping new OS for this (as I get really excited to enjoy the new core features) and move on to either iPhone 12/13 or 16 (if Apple Intelligence, really amazes me) and this phone will be passed on to my 17 year old nephew. Kudos to Apple for building such long lasting devices.
The battery health on my iPhone Xr was at 79% and it showed me a message that I need to replace the battery in order to improve performance as well as autonomy. I did replace the battery and it runs fine with the occasional stutters here and there but nothing major. I intend to keep using it until it no longer gets the latest iOS version (I think iOS 18 will be its last OS update). So I think I'm going to upgrade to the iPhone 17 on September next year. Cheers!
I am still using an IPhone XR with a nee battery and it gives no problems and plays games like CODM just fine , I do use this phone alone side a Samsung and I love this iPhone
I’ve had my XR for 5 almost 6 years and I decided to finally and definitely upgrade to the IPhone 17 when it comes out (I’ll go with 16 if I don’t like the 17) I’m really excited for the drastic change, especially since I’m not updating my XR to iOS 18 from fear it’ll lag or drain battery life. Ah I can’t wait for my 17!!
Had one until about a month ago. It was getting slow, lightning port was dead, and the battery was quite degraded. I kinda miss it. It was a very good phone.
Works okay for me running something like 18.2, my battery health is around 87% but I'm going to replace it when I have the funds. I just bought a Motorola Razr 2024 but I've gone backl to my 5 year old XR, I just prefer the way it all works.
Bought mine way back when it first came out. Still going, with no problems. Just never felt the need to upgrade. Probably will get a 16 pro later this year though. I still plan to keep the XR... keep it on wifi/bluetooth and use it as a smart home remote or something. Because... why not?
i had a coral Xr back in 2018-2020. i really only stopped using it because i had to, i wound up having an awful fall at my old job where i wiped out and my phone went flying across a large room and it smacked into a wall and then the ground equally as hard, and despite being in a very thin rubber case, both the screen and back glass spider web shattered everywhere, and the phone only continued to really work for about a month. to this day, id say 30% of the touch screen, the whole bottom of it almost up to the halfway point, the digitizer just died in that area, so it renders the phone useless because you can’t even unlock it. these days tho, ive found new screens for as cheap as $35, so im thinking about fixing it now to have as a backup iPhone and just because i forget what iOS it’s even on i think it would be fun to see iOS from 4 years ago. currently have a 14 Pro tho, and it’s still going strong after a year but im probably gonna have Apple put a new battery in this phone once it gets awful so i can keep using this one for years for once. hopefully i dont break this one.
Great video as always thanks. But do conventional LCD displays really drain less battery compared to OLED? I thought it was the other way round due to OLEDs being able to completely turn off the black pixels.?
I bought my mom a XR on launch and it become so laggy and slow not long before the 15s came out. My best friend also has one and it works pretty good still
I was an iPhone XR user and I changed it to 14 Pro. As in many aspects, 14 Pro is far better I didn't expect XR would have better battery life than 14 Pro (even after 4 years of usage). My XR was able to hold up to the end of the day while now I always need to have a power bank in my pocket.
Got mine refurb in late 2020, the XR and 11 were the last iPhone with face ID and LCD screens that has no PWM compare to OLED. If i would upgrade, it would be for a 11.
An XR battery is only $18 from Amazon. Mine works perfectly fine even though it says it's degraded on the battery health page I get a whole day out of it most days.
Xr was my 2nd iphone i used back in 2022, n i really loved it bcoz this was my 1st time i used a gesture over old school 6s plus (my 1st iphone). But now I'm using 11 pro max for better battery n speed performance over xr
So my daily driver iPhone, the one that my Sim card is in, is an iPhone 12. I think it's still fast on iOS 17. But I am watching this video on an iPhone XR which runs iOS 17 OK. The overall speed of the phone isn't bad, but touch Input is very laggy for some reason. Also the Face ID module is broken.
I bought the iPhone XR about a year ago for $230, and at that time, the battery life was at 83% and everything worked perfectly. After a year of usage, unfortunately, the Face ID stopped working and the battery health has decreased to 78%. Despite these issues, the phone still lasts me a day. However, I'm now faced with the decision of either getting the Face ID and battery fixed or upgrading to the iPhone 13 Pro.
I have 3 of these, my first new iPhone I pre ordered, got it it in Red 128bg. I have my Grammas red iPhone XR 64gb. (Rest her soul) we had matching phones and my mother’s blue 128bg. I absolutely love that phone. I eventually upgraded to an 11 and hated it. I sold it and went back to my XR. Used it for 4 years until I got a 14 pro.
I got my wives’ old Product Red version, it’s still unmarked and working well. I like to use it when I travel, overseas especially I fit a local SIM card and good to go.
I was still using a 5s at the time the XR came out, using a 12 Pro Max now and I’d never thought to myself that I would have a decent iPhone in a few years and would be stuck with obsolescence. I had a 15 Pro Max but didn’t really satisfy me compared to my 12
i love my xr on 16.2 jailbroken. battery isnt the best, camera, or even the performance but i can do so much with it and no reason to get a new one as it would just do the same things i asked it to just maybe prettier and smoother.
I had the XR for 2.5 years before I upgraded and it was a solid device. This phone got way more hate (primarily from the "tech enthusiast/community"). My only gripe with the phone was that it was a bit too wide for me, other than that it was a solid device for the price.
I'm still using my iPhone 8! I just replaced the battery. My g/F is still using he iPhone 6! I am on the fibonacchi upgrade cycle. I missed the window for the 13 Pro and will now have to wait for the 21! I should be retired by that time.
I managed to snag a iPhone XS in perfect condition with 83 battery health for 95$ only issue with the phone being no Face ID which I’m sure effects it if trying to use it as a daily driver but I bought it just to Jailbreak it since my daily iPhone 14 pro max can’t be JB but what I find odd and kinda annoying my iPhone 14 pro max is younger yet has almost the same battery health and I got the 14 pm 5 months before the 15 dropped
The Xr basically started the modern iPhone lineup. The 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 follow in the Xr's footsteps having multiple colors over the more bland Pro iPhones, honestly, the iPhone Xr is basically the iPhone 9. It was that middle step between the 8 and the 11 for the average consumer, while the X started the premium iPhone lineup going to the XS, and then the 11 Pro all the way to the 16 Pro. However, it's crazy how the Xr got iOS 18 and the X didn't.
I have a iPhone 8rn I’m looking to upgrade to this cause my only problem is the battery with the 8 I have and the larger battery should last way longer than the 8’s
I work from home, meaning most of the stuff I do is on my PC anyways, so my XR is still a decent phone for me. I also am running iOS 18 Beta by the way.
I have a XS Max running the latest stable 17.5.1 and another one running 16.2 and oh my, the 16.2 one's UI just flies. The 17 is just heavy. It feels heavy even in my primary 15 Pro Max during some cases which is sad. The dev BETA experience was horrible as expected so I downgraded back to the stable 17.
I am still rocking an iPhone 11. I went from the 7 plus product red to the 11 produce red. I really wanted to keep the product red line going so I'm hoping the 17 will have red. It is definitely laggy and noticeable but I did replace the battery and it's been a notable "upgrade" but its just a phone and does all the phone things just fine. I'm debating if I should upgrade this year or hold off. IOS 18 has fucked with an app I use so often that it is pissing me off to the point I want to get a new phone. Also the GPS laggs a bit when I first boot it up and having 5G would be nice. I'm gaslighting myself to keep the phone.
I think the 11 will be the iPhone that goes the distance. The XR was a good starting ground, but the 11 brought night sight or whatever Apple called it and I can’t remember how big a jump the A13 was compared to the A12.
My only question is, why does the red iPhone always have product in parentheses and all caps along with red next to it like we get that it’s a red iPhone
So I’m confused… I need help, I am thinking about buying a iPhone XR/XS cause I’m only 13 and don’t need the best newest phone. I’m confused on if it will be a good phone until 2026. Like does it still take updates and stuff? And if so when will it stop taking updates. And can I still use it if it stops updating. I’m just looking to buy a decent refurbished iPhone and a budget friendly one. I want a phone with the big Oled screen and no home button. I’m just wondering if this is still a good option. Thanks for reading this.
iPhone XR does currently get the latest update, but it may stop getting updates soon. Even if updates stop, 99% of apps will work on iOS 18 for a couple years. iPhone XR has a LCD screen, not OLED.
I still don't get how a phone of that premuim released when it did ... Did notcome with FHD just HD... Like does apple not know most content then and now is FHD and above and if not can be upscaled or just have more stuff on screen? Like no one find it funny that the AVP being full 4k over the quest 3 near 4K is pushed as a massive selling point. But then the XR bless it's heart does not need FHD? Any way It's a great phone may have even force Google to release the A models and I'm glad it sold well for the small phone fans.

Watching this on my XR… 😁
Edit: I did replace the battery at Best Buy with a genuine Apple product right after I bought the phone.
Lol watching this on my android
@ I can’t remember but it’s somewhere in the settings.
Does it run call of duty mobile?
My dad used a 5S all the way up to 2022 🤣🤣 9 years on the same phone lol he finally upgraded and got a 13 mini as that was still on sale at the time
Yeah my dad used the 1st generation SE, which was basically an iPhone 6 in a 5S body, for 4 years before we bought him the 13 Mini.
Still using my XR , got it pre owned nearly 2 years ago & currently has 87% battery health
Installing apps in the background is the biggest culprit when it comes to bad performance
just manually update apps while it’s on charge or something and don’t use it when it’s updating
About to upgrade to an 13 from my XR. I’ve had it since the end of high school all the way through college. Great phone, for what is is
8 (Plus) / X / Xs (Max), XR were peak iPhone design imo
they were the trinity of iPhone design imo.
remember when the xr was the battery champ
mine is at 79% 😭 had to upgrade to the iphone 15 pro max bc of this recently . used to last me 6-7 hrs now 3
@@yfkfernandoWell changing the battery would’ve changed that yk 😄 But still after that long it’s relatable to upgrade. I just recently changed the battery of my iPhone 11 and it works like a champ again…
@@yfkfernandosame i had a xr before i upgraded the battery health was at like 67%😭
@@campolindo18i did the same i have the 12 pro currently i got the battery changed a couple months ago and it’s like a new phone plan to keep until the 16’s or later
@@yfkfernando same I went from a XR with 77% battery capacity to a 15 Pro. Ngl the upgrade was massive and really shows that iPhones age gracefully
The 6 had touch disease
Xr screen replacement is pretty cheap
Don’t know about that one I’ve had 13 pro for 3 years no issues
Why is bro talking in second person
1:58 My battery life on my iPhone XR is awful. So my experience with it is unfortunately awful too...
Great video Love that Kichijoji music nod amazing soundtrack
My iPhone 6 and XR were my all time favorite phones I’ve ever had, I’m on the 16 PM now 😢
used the XR for around 4 years, an incredibly solid device even to this day!
The Xr, along with the 11 and SEs are still important for the 10% of us that can’t use OLED due to PWM
pwm ?
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming is a technique used to control the brightness of a display or LED by adjusting the duration of pulses of light. It rapidly turns the light source on and off at a frequency, and the ratio of on-time to off-time determines the perceived brightness
While it is a useful approach, extended exposure to high-frequency PWM displays can induce eye strain, headaches, and discomfort@@shaukatalimhlongo787y
Finally, most manufacturers mitigate this issue by using other methods to control the brightness of the screen such as
DC Dimming: DC dimming uses a constant voltage to control the brightness of the screen, rather than PWM.
I’m one of the 10%.

guys lets talk about how his dog is the cutest dog on earth. my heart cant take it
My aunt has had the XR since 2018 and hers works surprisingly well, and she has another one for work and they both hold on perfectly fine.
I just upgraded from my XR to the 15 . I had it since it came out
I've been using this XR for so long now; my prior iPhone was a 7, and it was my first.

Is a Beauty
Bought my xr back in 2021 and it’s still going great, runs ios18 update like a champ but definitely gonna get an upgrade 2025
11:55 my grandfather in fact using an iphone 5s to this day
This phone is still my main phone after all these years. Still holding up well.
XS is a better prospect purely because of the Oled and stainless steel build.
And the better cellular connectivity
+ its telephoto is actually pretty good
Tbh the older the phone is,the worse it is to have an oled
Yeah I have an iPhone 11 as my daily but I have an iPhone X in my collection and I’m debating on using it until I get myself an iPhone 12 or newer, even though the iPhone X can only run iOS 16 the OLED is worth the trade off
the xs has issues, all of mine have had problems with baseband, oled, battery etc
I've since had an iPhone 12 and now an iPhone 14 but I like having my XR with me as it helps not to drain my actual phone's battery.
im here wondering if the SE is ever gonna get a design upgrade... if it does it should be designed like the XR with the rounded sides
With these older iPhones if you want to full performance you need to change your region to france. Otherwise it throttles. I have a XR with 77% of remaining battery health and its still fine and doesn't randomly shutdown.
Why France?
Thanks for the video!
My XR works great! Thanks for the reassurance we are still good on this phone for now.
I just fixed mine recently and it hardly gives me a problem.
I use an iPhone 11. My daily driver is a 2010 Ford Focus.
@@ReadTheBible8 Lol.
If I were you, I would just use the money on another phone. I think it would cost quite a bit to fix the Face ID and replace the battery also. 😊
@@ibelongtohalo thanks i will get the 13pro maybe in a few month buy love my Xr tho
Why did you hate the 11?
The only color that the XR doesn’t have compared to the 5C is green, but that was replaced in the XR color lineup with black and red
well i would say that the xr looks better here 10:46 in terms of color, dynamic range and sharpness
I got my wives’ old Product Red version, it’s still unmarked and working well.
I like to use it when I travel, overseas especially I fit a local SIM card and good to go.

I’ve had the XR for a few years. Recently I upgraded to the 13 mini. I still prefer the XR. The only improvement I see in the 13 mini is the camera.
i remember watching videos about him using the iphone 6 when the xr was new, damn how i’ve grown up
I was still using a 5s at the time the XR came out, using a 12 Pro Max now and I’d never thought to myself that I would have a decent iPhone in a few years and would be stuck with obsolescence. I had a 15 Pro Max but didn’t really satisfy me compared to my 12
Just upgraded from XS to 13. No contest. Very different experience. OLED + higher resolution screen = better battery and more appealing function
Saving up for my 15 Pro Max. I'm halfway there. Watching on ny XR.
i love my xr on 16.2 jailbroken. battery isnt the best, camera, or even the performance but i can do so much with it and no reason to get a new one as it would just do the same things i asked it to just maybe prettier and smoother.
I had the XR for 2.5 years before I upgraded and it was a solid device. This phone got way more hate (primarily from the "tech enthusiast/community"). My only gripe with the phone was that it was a bit too wide for me, other than that it was a solid device for the price.
how you be chaging the app colors
I'm still using my iPhone 8! I just replaced the battery. My g/F is still using he iPhone 6! I am on the fibonacchi upgrade cycle. I missed the window for the 13 Pro and will now have to wait for the 21! I should be retired by that time.
i would like to upgrade my i12 to the 13 pro or 14 pro 🤔

I definitely prefer the rounded corners. Also nice to not have a huge camera bump. Not used the XR but the XSMax is my favourite design still.
Turned mine into a House Boost Phone! $10.00 month, Stays on charger and wifi! Great for calling myself when I can't find my regular cellphone !
I have a iPhone X should I upgrade to the iPhone 16 or wait another year?
Using XR now thinking about a 15 plus now or wait til price drops?🤷♂️
I also am running iOS 18 Beta by the way.
why xr downgrading it's stereo speaker? ear speaker is not as loud as the first production
I have a I phone 12 and I just switched back to my I phone xr as a backup and it’s 100 percent way better then the i phone 12
Should i get a 83 battery health?
