@@attachetravel The story about your grandma growing up in Shimla and you reconnecting with her through your trip was heartwarming, as was your depiction of the place.
absolutely beautiful video! im so glad you were able to make that trip with your family and your grandmother seems like she was a wonderful person. I'm so glad that you all had her in your lives! and thank you as always for going to places that don't seem to have as much attention and teaching all of us new things. also omg major props to your brother for doing all of that walking while recovering from an injury!
Nice one. These are the kinds of trips one wants to make. I don't see myself going to India, but if I would have a family member who would have lived somewhere far away, I would make a honorable exception. Instead, I tend to visit folks who I got to know online, who live far away to make a trip personal, instead of being a 'legal alien [...] in New York' so to say. This year I've been to Turkey and Ukraine just for this reason. By train as well actually.
Possibly our favorite of all your videos. At once elegantly produced, deeply moving and amusing - perfect for viewing on a holiday weekend. Thank you. This made us smile.
We've traveled recently to several countries and locations based on your films, Helsinki was the latest, but I want to thank you for this film, as it's so personal, and wonderful. Thank you for sharing this part of your family and your experience.
Gorgeous film…as always! Loved seeing Shimla, it’s on my ever expanding list of places I need to see. Though all the haze/smog was a shock (I’m not sure why I was shocked).
Your granny's diary should be made into a Netflix/RUclips series. 'My Grannie's Diary - The Story Of An Adventurous Woman in The British Raj India - Shimla Edition'. But you make it in classic attache style staying 100% true to her diaries. C'mon just think about it.
@@attachetravel , It inspires me to continue translate my grandfather’s book (from Java language to Indonesian). Just few years before he passed away in 1959, he wrote the book about his life from young age (start in 1900). After finished the translation, I will visit several cities in Indonesia where he lived.
Really well presented. Shame your grandma’s house was locked. You could have requested District Magistrate office to help you with some ancestry related queries. I was wondering if you guys did have any plans to visit Dalhousie where Dalai Lama lives and then Leh Ladakh. Would be interesting to see these place via your camera!!
I wish they spent more time in Chandigarh and Delhi. To stand by the wayside and claim what they claimed about Chandigarh and judging Delhi by its station alone was really unjustified. Living in lavish hotels removed from the rest of society isn’t really the way people travel these days anymore. Disappointed
Brilliant work guys - so glad you were able to include some of Jean's family photos in the piece which gave it so much more context.
Perfectly captured. What a trip!
This brought tears to my eyes
In a good way, right?!

I'm glad to hear that!
Thank you for taking us along on this beautiful journey, Alex. :) Happy New Year to you and your family.
Same to you!

New Attache merch. "If you open the windows,...be prepared to fight a monkey"
It's a bestseller.
I'm a simple man - I see a new Attaché video and I watch & upvote. Always a pleasure
Thanks!
I don't think someone can do it better than this. Thanks Alex and your brothers for showing my town and sharing these lovely stories of your grandma.❤
So, a much better version of The Darjeeling Limited film...
Haha, yeah but they had better music

We were there during a particularly brutal period of smog across much of India. It made global headlines. Delhi was particularly bad.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Stunning video
Thank you!

Ha, it's lovely idea!
Gosh, had never, ever heard of this place before. So arresting. Can you imagine if the diaries had revealed Shimla's cheapest, fastest and best?
Ha, now THAT would have been a discovery.
Thank you so much for sharing your pilgrimage. Simply beautiful.
Thank you, I appreciate that
Wow great film. You got it out quick too considering how soon ago it was on your gram stories
Thank you!
One word : WOW !
Thank you!

Dude, how many diseases did you pick up filming there? I acquired dengue in a week.
haha none, not even a burpy tummy.
