Who could not ever love Jerry? He was the best clean comedy, god fearing, family loving man. This man was a legend in his own way and when we lost Jerry in this life, heaven gained an angel. And i know he is spending eternity in heaven with our heavenly father and he is entertaining everybody up there. Jerry, you are loved and not forgotten here in your home state of Mississippi and deeply missed. I cant even pass through Yazoo City Mississippi without thinking about you. Your stories always make me smile and you make me very proud to be from Mississippi like you are.
Well said... we love him next door in Alabama to my friend! I'm a marine corps vet and I was fortunate enough to see him live at camp Lejeune in 1996 with my wife who was 9months pregnant with our 1st boy ready to pop any minute! Never forget how true and faithful he was to the usmc ... helluva man!
Grew up in Yazoo City and lived right around the corner from Mr. Clower. I used to ride my bike over to his house because he and my grandfather were good friends. Brings back some fond memories
I saw Jerry Clower in 1985 in Citronelle Alabama...a small town of about 4,000 people that's about 30 miles north of Mobile Alabama. He talked about loving the small towns in America & how he loved the family gatherings in small towns. I bet he's in Heaven right now making Jesus & God laugh!!!
Jerry sat behind me on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Nashville many, many years ago ... and I gotta telly ya, he was low-key entertaining us while we were waiting to push back from the gate. He was great!!!
I saw Mr. Clower live at Camp Lejeune, NC back some years ago when he recorded live An Officer And A Ledbetter. He did not charge 1 penny for his show for a packed standing room only crowd. What a privilege to be a participant and a show I still talk about today.
I think his first album was in 1968 or 1969, and he said in part I of this video that had been in "show bidness" for 20 years, so I guess this was recorded in 1988 or 1989. I had never heard of him until I started college in 1988 - my roommate had "Clower Power" on cassette. Been a Clower fan ever since.
Jerry Clower was a class act. Clean, hilarious comedian. His legacy will live on forever. I still love to listen to him occasionally. I'm 62 now and started listening to him with my dad when I was a teen. RIP Mr. Clower, you are truly missed.

I grew up listening to him. One of the funniest story tellers ever.

My Grandpa shared this with me. Anytime I want to feel happy and safe, I turn this on.

I heard a little bit of him all my life but never really listened to him,hes alright, hes pretty cool,i like him
He once said he would never tell a story that he wouldn't feel comfortable sharing in church or in front of his kids...and he never did.
Great memories thanks
For all you Liberals that hate this....Yall need Jesus!
He would've made a great preacher if it were'nt for comedy.
wtf66611 I agree. His delivery is a lot like a southern preacher.
You can have comedy in church. If folks ain't wit it, they know where the door is located to go somewhere where they can be as serious as they choose.
Sure miss "OL" Jerry

He is very funny without being vulgar. A real delight to listen to.
