Helpful, however, I knew something wasn't right when I couldn't display the show on a monitor. Per your suggestion, I did format the show to .mov but that still didn't work. All my holiday shows are in an MP4 format and play fine using a Roku hooked up to my short throw projector but I wanted something simple and found your youtube. Nonetheless, everything was smooth up until previewing the shows to a monitor and attempted to hook it up via HDMI but still nothing. Could I have a bad raspberry? Any other advice??

Sorry for the trouble, from a far it's hard to know, ideally it should work but there are quite a few potential causes. Does the same file work on roku ? it might be the export setting used to create the file, or it could be hardware, the cable, the connector on the Pi, I assume the monitor works via the same HDMI if connected to the pi. Mixing and matching hardware may help narrow down hardware issue

Great tutorial. Where are you getting your Prompts / scripts from for the Optoma?

Thank you. Sorry, which scripts are you referring to? If it is the CEC projector controls scripts they are pretty much standard that I found online, the same scripts work for my Samsung & Roku tv as well as my Optoma projector
