- Decent Windows XP gaming from this Dell?
Here is my review video of the Dell Dimension 4600. I installed Windows XP and as well as making some hardware upgrades. I will show off some XP era gaming as well.

"Dude, you're getting a Dell." Had to say it :) Like the look of those older Dells and for DOS gaming it's all free or dirt cheap on GOG.
This was my families computer with no upgrades from 2004 until 2010. After 08 hit we were basically house poor and couldn't afford to get a new pc. So basically the reason im into computers today!
Since my family purchased it in 04, the processor was 2.8ghz prescott with hyperthreading.
Also I reccomend using the internet browser Mypal, it's one of the few browsers still being supported for xp!
Agree 100% on Mypal, it's been so much better than trying to use an out of date version of Firefox or Opera.
@@retropcdurham Yeah! Ive been using it on my current xp gaming pc, which has a Sapphire HD 4870 toxic editin 1gb and a core 2 duo e8400 with 6gb of ram, I also threw in a ssd in since hdd's are slow. And man it's amazing! Also you can find the E8400 cheaper then a pentium 4 on ebay for some reason.
We still have a PC just like that from 2003 that we purchased new back then! The original Dell LCD monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse were replaced in 2009-2010 when the monitor died while the speakers did not sound very good by that point! They were all replaced with Logitech stuff while the monitor was replaced with a Samsung LED one which we still use today! :)

Thinking of picking one up today. Its untested. 70 miles/hour and a half away. 20usd. Also got an untested 6800gt 256mb ddr3 agp gpu for $15 the other day. This is the system I never had in middle school
I love the video ,I also have a dell 4600 that i painted and modded for my retro gaming!
So nostalgic for this style Dell. Was my first PC I bought when I moved out of my folks house. Ordered it direct from Dell, played Max Payne 2 on it.

I'm glad that you were able to have some fun with this monstrosity. I remember having to use one for about a month, around the summer of 2011 or 2012, when the HDD to my Lenovo 3000 H210 crapped out and, even then, I was struggling just to browse the internet with Firefox. Dunno if the Dimension had been loaded with bloatware, malware, viruses, or what, but it was a horrible way to experience Windows XP for the first time!
And while we're on the topic of blasts from the past, did I see the Cingular mascot in the left side of the screen of that Need For Speed game? That's one instance of product placement that I handle! It might be the nostalgia talking, but I swear that the service they provided to my Nokia 8260, as a teen, was the best wireless service I ever had...

I have one of those in the garage. I should pull it out. What was that first game you were playing?
First game was Doom3. It's a great atmospheric horror game and still holds up today, but VERY different from every other DOOM game
It have one but don't know how to use it
