    I have two of them. First one was in my family for a long time, and i accidentally broke hinges, so i bought second one. I replaced hinges and screen and some more. Now it has 4GB of ram, 128GB SSD, T7200 CPU, integrated intel GMA, and 1680x1050 screen. I use it as a retro laptop. Unfortunately both 2 batteries are dead.

    Great laptop! I have one myself that I use as my main Retro Computing laptop - I even managed to get an external optical drive that fits in the Dell proprietary weird 'Double USB' port on the rear :) I got a 3rd party battery from Amazon so I can now use it on battery!

    Great video! I have a Dell D820 as well (T7200 cpu, 4GB RAM, 500GB SSD). It does run Win10 for me but I still get a lot of screen flashing with the Nvidia NVS 110m Quadro GPU. I can't seem to find the right driver and Win10 doesn't download it for me. Any ideas where to get an appropriate driver? I tried the legacy NVS 110m drivers directly from Nvidia but still got lots of screen flashing, etc.

    • @retropcdurham
      @retropcdurham  2 года назад

      The D820 seems to be a challenging system for Windows 10. I didn't have a GPU model here so that driver issued didn't come up for me, but the sound drivers were definitely a problem.
      You could try the Windows 7 drivers for the GPU that are on the Dell support site for the D820, and also you could try a tool called Snappy Driver Installer Origin which may be able to locate a functioning driver as well.

    Adding the h264ify plugin will greatly ease the burden on the gpu for streaming.

    hello, I have the same laptop, its high processor frequency is static and does not change with load, what do you think is the problem ?? I definitely think she is in iron

    • @retropcdurham
      @retropcdurham  2 года назад

      Like the CPU is always at 100% utilization? While that can be normal after a fresh reboot since Windows 10 continues to run some background apps after loading up, it isn't really normal for 100% all the time. Do you have lots of additional background apps running all the time as well? Maybe take a look at task manager to see what programs are making use of the CPU. It could be a problem app, or just too much actively running in the background.

    • @retropcdurham

      If windows update doesn't download them you should be able to find an older version on the dell website or Nvidia website.
