The Bible is the authority on what is a sin and what is not and what is right and what is wrong not the Church.....

I am more optimistic about the GMC. The radicals who took over the UMC had implicit help from the self-described "middle of the road" Methodists. These middlers, in my experience, overwhelmingly refused to ever side with the conservatives even when the judicial processes where hi-jacked. They will be surprised at how UU the UMC will become in short order. The GMC will have limited bureaucratic and hierarchy power. AND very few of the middle of the road anti-conservatives.

      Hi Steve
Thank you for your comments. I hope that you are right in your optimism. It will certainly be interesting to see how things play out. Join me in keeping both entities in our prayers.

It will be rather challenging to identify sinful sexual practices moving forward in the UMC. I encourage a podcast to evaluate the UMC based on Jesus' truths in Revelation 2 and 3.

      Hi JCmyers
Thank you for your comments. I am in agreement with you concerning sinful sexual practices. The point of the podcast was to give general impressions about the two entities that emerge from the split. Both the UMC and the GMC have issues that I hope they address. It hasn't been easy watching the church go through these things. I am trying to journey toward a graceful understanding of the complexity and difficulty in that process. Blessings to you.

Not a Methodist but have been watching the frequency of splits in Christianity. Painful to see. Infiltration including the hierarchy. Politization of a faith to modernism, the loss of moral theology n the demeaning of actual biblical teaching. You have chosen a difficult path but I also see the GMC having weaknesses they don't see. Just a temporary life raft. Hope your hierarchy leaves you alone. Pray and fast. Let Our Lord guide you n give you strength. Rest in His arms.

It is way past time for us as Christians to get past conservative and liberal and become followers of Jesus. We must just listen to the Spirit through the Word. You said you weren't going to condemn anyone. You failed.

When you use the word Woke you reveal way too much of your bias. Consider 1 Corinthians 15 and the O.T. teaching on circumcision and apply that process to what the Methodist Church is confronting. Maybe the Jerusalem council goofed. They were just too incompetent.

Hi Gayle, I'm sorry to be so long in replying. I was on vacation and very busy upon my return. I appreciate your comments. I am, of course, biased as are all people. I have a viewpoint. My use of the word "woke" is not a biased choice as I see it. Progressives coined the term to self describe their view of themselves. They were woke while everyone else was asleep.
What I was trying to promise in the video was to take seriously arguments from people with whom I disagree. I think I did that. At least as well as I can.
I don't know that I failed as you state in your next remarks. Certainly it seems I failed your expectations. But I feel that I kept my promises. In all honesty, I'll let God decide the pass and fail thing. He is likely the best equipped to pass that judgement.
