Love this countryesque swingy jazzy whatever-you-wanna-call-this-style kinda music. Brent is a medium. It is like having Hank Garland, Charlie Christian and Django winking at me through Brent's solos. Thanks for posting!
Close, but he said "pole in the way." You'll notice in the video that there is a black pole covering up some of Randy's guitar, and you can imagine how much worse it would be one seat to my left where the man was sitting. We got there late, and I was gonna film, so I took one of the two seats open up front, but it turned out some guy was saving one of them I guess. He didn't show up till right when it was starting, it was a little awkward. I'm glad I didn't move, 50,000+ views now!
@peelopuu I didn't know there is a specific amp and guitar to play bebop and swing XDXD. Brent could play bebop with a Gibson Flying V and a rectifier and it would still sound great ;-)
Does anybody else out there hear more than a hint of Charlie Christian from "Live at Minton's"? Always knew this guy was good, but this is flat out smokin'
I was disappointed because neither of them baked a cake or even talked about cake baking. When I see the words "Guitar Seminar", I expect to get tips on how to improve my baking. This is why I hate RUclips.
No, Scotty is a great great guitarist, but he doesn't play with near the accuracy, and ultimate feeling that Brent does. Scotty is great, but there is a reason why Brent is on every record out of Nashville, and Scotty is in Kentucky or wherever he is now. But yeah Scotty is great too, but just not the player Brent is.
@peelopuu My apologies for freaking out but I actually find it refreshing, kind of sick of that blunt big box tone. It's not 'traditional' by my ears are tired of tradition, the only tradition that's important is folks enjoying themselves and not getting ahead of themselves. Peace.
That was very nice ! Very nice !
Yeah I've heard of Danny Gatton. I played guitar with Lance Quinn, Danny's friend and co-guitarist in 2 bands.
I could listen to this all day.

NOBODY plays guitar better than Brent Mason!!!
Wow, that is simply command of time and groove.. God Brent can play..
Top man in his field
What an incredible talent. Randy's no slouch either! Proud parents, they have.
Real beautiful music! Cheers!
That was SO sweet!
This is awesome!
Brent is so versatile.I guess that's why he's on a lot of records in Nashville and elsewhere.
Need to get the Mason brothers and Quebe sisters together for some western swing magic!
well said! I was just about to comment but you said it already.
Wow! Tasty playin. just goes to show you what can be done with a tele in the hands of a master.
Danny Gatton, after hearing Scotty Anderson ,said Scotty was the best guitar player he ever heard in his life .Oh yeah ,Scotty uses a thumb pick too.
