***** ...ok? If you dislike my use of a word on the internet then maybe you can just ignore it as it's just a few words on a computer screen? You don't have to go out of your way to patronize me.
You don't realize how gigantic bo is until he's around other normal sized humans. And then sit him behind a grand piano and he looks like a little kid again. Crazy
While I know that people are disappointed that “satan you taste so good” was removed for this version, I thoroughly believe that Bo saying “Swag” in a demonic voice makes up for it.
After a horrible accident that left me with one arm and serious burns losing my fingerprints, the colour in my eyes and the ability to smile I find there's no representation for me in this song.
When Bo Burnham quotes T.S Elliot, he’s taking the opening lines from his most famous work: “The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock.” And if you read the poem, it’s impressive how well it works with the message of this song. Good one, Bo.
I was looking for this comment. Same here lmao. But the one that really got me was when he mouthed "fuck you" at 1:21. I've been watching this video off and on for years and this is the very first time I've noticed it.
Because of this music video, I have formed the opinion that Bo would definitely be the person who gets possessed by an ancient demon in a cheesy horror flick.
For a musician aiming for satire, he makes songs that could legitimately make the Top 40. That chorus is an earworm. Also, every time I come back for another listen and watch, I catch something awesome I never saw or heard before. Bo Burnham is one of the few really artistic geniuses we have.
realistically, I feel like it has to do with context, we know Bo Burnham is ironic in what he's doing so we oftentimes set the expectation a little lower, coupled by the fact that he's already talented, funny, and dedicates himself to what he's doing, so it turns out surprisingly good, which it definitely is.
@@doorshotel This is the correct answer. I am only pointing this out because the comment above mine is so freaking insane that this is the only way I can avoid calling them a total pandering idiot.... Which is obviously problematic given that is what the song is about.
When he shows the mother’s point of view, it’s a lot like the part in “white womans Instagram” where we hear her talk about how she misses her mom. It paints a perspective that allows us to understand the women rather than demonize her like we would the music industry, or demonize the participant of social media.
“Yeah, we know it’s right, we know it’s not funny but we’ll stop beating this dead horse when it stops spitting out money but until then, we will repeat stuff” Is one of the greatest lines I’ve ever heard.
Honestly I do gotta agree with the corporations on some of them. Your teen life has not been lived to the fullest unless you gathered for an ominous satanic ritual with the lads.

While I do think the affects of these types of songs have a heavier affect on women, I feel like people don't talk about the affects on men. All these male pop stars get described as the perfect teen, with beautiful eyes and the perfect face. That makes boys feel like in order to get love themselves they have to be perfect, and if they're not, then they're screwed.
I just noticed two details for the first time: 1) The teens at the party are all playing with childish toys (like a girl’s literally staring a pinwheel) 2) Bo and the boys are all drinking juice He’s showing that these teen idols are shown as being pure and wholesome to seem like the perfect boyfriend who would never hurt you.

It's the agents and the industry who pressure this type of material and it's the corporate greed. "We'll stop beating this dead horse when it stops spitting out money".
Can we talk about how the image of some demonic entity disguising itself as a teen pop star so it can pray on teenage girls by grooming their devotion and putting subliminal messages into its songs is an amazing horror concept masterfully portrayed in this video?

+Parakarry 0:03
Who tf is T.S Elliot?
Fly The W is it even a proper quote?
fallout is life, he's a famous writer
7 years couldn't touch this song it's still fresh
Finally found this Bo Burnham song. This is one of my favorites
I took my headphones off for a minute, when i put them back on all i hear is a demon screeching "Finger YOU!" in my ear. If that doesn't define ear rape idk what does
OH MY GOD THE PUN
Nice pun lmaoo
*fuck you* WAIT
The first time I heard this song I was driving and it came on so I let it play, had three 13 year old boys in the car (son & friends)
*FINGER YOU!*
*All the boys die of laughter*
Oops
Lmao
Bo is such a confusing comedian. He provides incredibly serious introspective into society and personal thoughts, while also being hilarious.
+Griffin kirkpatrick Like Pewdiepie ;P
I love comidians who can find a way to do this. It's my sense of humor exactly, serious yet hilarious and will probably get you yelled at.
Julia WolfStar Oh yeah, I can tell you firsthand that that's true :(
You make it sound like he's the first to do this lol. Check out George Carlin.
NALM Didn't say he was the first.
The lack of laughs in the background changes this song so much...Imagine if he had a one hour and a half long special without an audience. That would be crazy
Just discovered this. Amazing. Maybe the best
I find this much more funny because my sister only has one arm.
Dark humor right there
Oh no
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Anyone else think it's ironic that Bo has a pretty big following of teenage girls?
***** I guess?
well that's even better then, he can talk to them directly about this bullshit industry
I-r-o-n-i-c?
SOGGTV It's when everyone is made of metal.
yeah but he doesnt make the songs like he says in the video about them describing them vague
that description is perfect for this video
Omg I just read it 😂
"I'll show you!" proceeds to enter a random suburban house with a ski mask. An amazingly funny depiction of how pop stars invade your childrens lives.
deep demonic voice
*SWAG*
I died 😂😂😂😂
Amelia Hoffman THAT LINE JUST WENT ON WHEN I READ THAT OMG

Am I the only one who read swag in the demonic voice
"We'll stop beating this dead horse when it stops spitting out money." He's freaking brilliant, man.
I really can't get over that line- I think it's brilliant too, it really gives you chills when he says it
Seems kinda obvious to me
thats EA for you
+JTZ Show (JTZComedy) same here, I replay that part a few times everytime I watch this vid lol
+jrjubach People are gonna be cringing at me for not knowing this but what is it suppose to mean? Idk why Idk but uhh.. ya I'm not smart.. or idk..
Crazy how accurate this video is.
Love this. Found this quite late, but thankfully it's a masterpiece which never gets old.
Watch I'm bo yo. It's og
"I love your eyes and their bluish brownish greenish color"
People with Gray eyes: *upset noises*
What about people with no eyes
Oh no sound the Alarms!
@@fireballedbard4620 They can't use Spotify so
FUCK UMMMMMMM WHO NEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS UEUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMM
I mean all of them combined are gray
Just mix all the colors together, smh
The fact that I have found out he ADDED the blowing satin joke to the live performance is so fucking funny considering Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had to sit and listen to that shit man 💀
"NOOOM....mmmm Satan, You Taste So Gooood!"😜😋😍😉
Justin: 😐🥺😤😠😡🤬
Well someone shouldve told them eventually they picked the wrong career path that preys on people and their insecurities in an effort to make more money. Just didn’t think it would have to be Bo burnham lol. He’s truly the hero we deserve.
I just realized they were performing a ritual at one point I'm sobbing 😭
@@secretlydarkreunion7629 OH THATS WHAT THE DEAD BODIES WERE FOR I WAS LIKE "HOW DID THEY *DIE?!"*
Based
It would be an honor to get my heart ripped out of my chest by bo
I love that the music video just becomes a cult video as the song progresses
I love the part at 1:55 where he's in the background looking at the girl with disgust
i thought i was the only one that noticed this considering the fact that i did after five years
@@czarnaowca6834 same though.
It should have been a ginger that would have been funnier
Woosh bait that would’ve been sad
Is...is that girl Melissa Villaseñor? It looks an awful lot like her but it could just be someone who looks like her.
wow I miss him already...
Uh what?
SoLongSidekick he's taking a break from comedy I think
+adamjack7891 Oh wow, that's a bummer.
To be fair, in Make Happy he seemed like he needed it. I think he was very honest when he said "I don't think that I can handle this right now".
He always seems to have a depressed undertone to his comedy. I say let him do whatever it takes to keep himself alive and mentally healthy
the little wtf at 2:50 os hilarious why cant i stop laughing 💀
immediately fell in love with this song, it felt so personal. one of the few songs where it actually feels the artist is talking to *me*
this makes me laugh so much but the fact that it's so accurate is terrifying wow
good job bo!!
Woo! Go Bo!
solardarlings • Especially the Satan stuff
That part of Bo putting on chapstick and bitting a cross gave me some strange non christian feelings
Usagi Garcia me too jffjjd
@@saturnerens it was like a "Oh damn he's sexy" moment
Usagi Garcia yessir
This whole song is giving me a non Christian feeling
Usagi Garcia _Yes._
I haven't heard this song in years and I rembered all the words almost perfectly, so it seems repeating stuff worked.
This song hits a spot in my heart I literally can’t stop listening to it
