First, I want to note that if anyone who reads this comment hasn't seen/read it, I recommend checking out Kris' account of his decision to play the DDT list that took 2nd at an SJC when the consensus was that post-limitations DDT was dead. I find it inspiring; it's the "When Everything Changed (YGO)" video on yugioverdose's channel. Now, personal comments: In 2007, this was such a cool list. From the perspective of a kid in that era on a shoestring budget who mostly went to locals, played YVD/text-back-and-forth AIM+MSN duels (Gen Z readers: it was a different time), and treated metagame.com as his daily newspaper: it was really, REALLY fun to conceptualize the idea of playing DDT and solitaire/sim it, but acquiring those 3 MSEs seemed way out of reach - I remember being happy with the limitation! I also distinctly remember being peeved about its existence as CP02-EN001 anyways - yeah we'd had Chaser/Decree/MJar before, but we'd come off of the last few competition pack ultras being Satellite Cannon, Magical Arm Shield, and a late-to-the-party D.D. Warrior. And of course, in the OCG, it would've been as plentiful as Graceful Charity because of the Marik structure - I had a whole binder page of 1st ed SDP Gracefuls I kept getting as trade/holo-lot jetsam and would sometimes just stare at that page wishing half of them let me recur spells. Thanks for releasing this on the same day as the modern profile! I'll admit I come here for the old school content, and while I'd've watched the Tri-Brigade video no matter what, the fact that it was a "doubleheader" made it a no-brainer to catch both.
It’s so interesting to see how much history this format has along with how many variations of DDT there were. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the decks from this time.
Having played against DDT a lot in retro yugioh matches, I feel very validated hearing a great player mention specific interactions I also thought were important and signs of good play
Probably my favorite deck style of all time! I had just recently put together the original Airblade version with 3 Stratos and 3 D-Fusion, and it is absolutely bonkers. Is that version worth highlighting in its own video, considering it had such a short window where it was legal, and it’s such a small change from this one?
@@YGOHistory I must have somehow glanced over that. Yeah I would just always play Return if I played Allure naturally but you're literally the expert on these things.
@@YGOHistory lol I must have just assumed that one; sorry thanks for putting up with my stupid questions I'm actually understanding the intricacies of the decks quite a bit better now...
Allure wasn’t out yet(2008) When it was released the only decks that were truly competitive were DAD return. Although DDT DAD return was a very powerful deck.
Been waiting for this - I've been slowly working on getting all the cards irl
Ditto

I was a kid when this format was around, and this was the first meta deck where I was envious of people who could afford the cards at the time.
I know exactly what you mean.

I have a lot of 2007 content up to check out already!

i miss when good card decks could compete
As someone who sides Spell Canceller in this format, I like the inclusion of Exiled.
A feather of Phoenix was a good tech to guarantee and good trigger from diamond dude.
Great video! I love this deck so much
LADD PC or post LADD was just a more consistent deck during the time. Nostalgia of my favorite time in yugioh.
that was the next format i beleive
@@imalwaysbluffing very possible. It’s been so long it’s hard to remember.
There needs to be a site where you can duel other people with ok’d formats and their rules
I remember having no idea how to pilot this deck, but thinking it was very cool lol.
Hopefully this video helped!
You should do DAD DDT! i really want to learn more about that deck if you see this please make it happen!
Joe just loves his D-hero decks haha (who doesn't)
very excited to this and the little city deck! will you also be doing big city as well?
I plan on just doing Jeff Jones’ deck from SJC Philly 07.
I think the point of dasher was to have something that swings for 3100

Its kind of anomaly from one event, might be better to cover stuff that saw more play
So no ROTA, no Disk Commander, and no Return?
Do those make the deck worse somehow? It would seem to give you more options.
2 ROTA. Disc has no synergy. Return was not needed though used in the fall version.
@@YGOHistory I must have somehow glanced over that. Yeah I would just always play Return if I played Allure naturally but you're literally the expert on these things.
@@scythermantis This decklist has no Allure
