Early YGO effects were either "hyper specific niche that doesn't even perform well in that extremely rare situation, and doesn't work as described because of rulings" or "this card is banned".
The boss monster of early YGO structure decks: "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set, must be Special Summoned from your hand by having exactly 6 Level 4 or lower Sea Serpents in your GY; gains 100 ATK for each Sea Serpent in your GY." As someone who joined Yugioh in the midst of 2017 when Links were new and the game was already faster than a speeding bullet, I’m utterly fascinated by the older formats. It’s like a little history lesson every video of yours about it I see, and I always feel accomplished when I can finish your sentences because I’ve learned more and more about the game from 16-20 years ago. Not even to mention the amazing background noise your videos make when I’m doing work. Thanks for making videos, I hope you continue to for a long time.
Nah.... I wish more cards got erratas. A lot of archetypes needed cards to help make them work but ended up getting banned entirely and forever because another archetype was able to make use of it's effect to FTK or something silly like that. If more of those cards had clauses like "This only works with Predaplants" or "Synchrons", then we'd be able to play with those decks more instead of them being flushed to the wayside. Plus retrains lead to that awful stigma that "the old version of the card is so awful, it's useless" and then the new retrain comes out and that card is much much better....but now you have ZERO reason to include the old card in your deck.... Just makes the old card feel like pack filler and is an excuse to have to pull the new ones. HOWEVER it's okay if the retrain and updated archetype still made USE of the old card. Like you can still use Yubel despite the new Yubel cards, and you can use Shieryu (the 7 star dragon) OR the Starry Night Dragon as the modern cards make the original card fulfill the conditions. I just don't like seeing cases like "Obnoxious Celtic Guardian" is great and a game changer, but you NEVER have a reason to play the original "Celtic Guardian". (for example). or worse, as alluded to, "Predaplants NEEDED this card to be relevant but Spyrals were able to take advantage of it and now the card is banned and NEVER going to be unbanned, so RIP anyone ever using Predaplants....ever.... Oh but here's a retrain that doesn't at all help Predaplants cause it basically nerfs everything as if it's still used for SPYRALS....."
@@MarioMastar I believe what OP meant were retrains that would work like the OG card but slightly worse to keep the OG untouched. The Fishborg cards for example. Fishborg Blaster was so good it got banned and instead of getting an errata it got a lot of Fishborg retrains which are not as good but can still do something related. I would also have liked that for some OGs imo but it is what it is today.
This made me quit the game when they started changing cards effects of cards. It's basically making a permanent ban list without making a permanent ban list. Also it makes getting old prints of cards for older formats a pain since all the newly printed versions are the new erratum.
@@MarioMastar I think he's talking more about original effects of like Crush Card, Makyura, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Treeborn Frog, Ring of Destruction. All these cards and so so many more are permanently banned through errata and difficult to get ahold of for older formats like Chaos and other formats.
I love how when I was younger, I used to look at some of these cards and just not realize the shear broken potential they each had. I still thought Blue-Eyes was good lol
Jinzo was an amazing side deck card for me when Labyrinth was at its peak. I loved having it in the side because I could bridge into it with Small World in my Vaylantz deck super easily. Funny to see an old school card have some niche viability in certain formats.
Jinzo is one of my favorite monsters to have ever been printed because of his design and his effect. Can't explain the feeling of playing a jinzo deck into labrynth or traptrix and because of that he is to this day an actually decent card and I love him for it.
Im a 12 year old yu gi oh player. Just started 2 months ago cuz my older brother and his and my friends said that I should give yu gi oh a try. And I did, I like it, but we play with old cards not new ones. Our rules are a bit different than the real ones. Now I m watching every video of yours with "broken" cards, because I need a good deck so I wont lose every game. Also im a big fan of your channel.
Hehe just have fun with it, and don't worry too much ab out winning. A lot of the fun part of Yugioh is deck building. When you lose to your opponent, think about how they broke your defenses and try to use cards that reinforce your defenses or get around their strategy. Master that and you'll be a Yugi-pro in no time! Don't just watch videos on "the best cards" or "the best deck". Cause frankly.... a lot of those players are either talking about cards in a vacuum (assuming that they will always draw a perfect hand to pull off these combos), or they're assuming the opponent is not going to counter them with actual strategy and instead just hoping they don't have Ash or Nibiru in hand...which means they just go for game. All while mocking those who play with for fun decks. The game is still alive after all these years for a reason. and if you're enjoying the game, you're doing like we did when we were your age and the game was freshly introduced. XD Keep it alive! and look forward to Rush Duel! I think your generation will enjoy that so much more cause it's classic Yugioh but WAY faster paced. I'm really enjoying it!
@@Number47ftw and card art that was a really unique and interesting style, not just generic anime looking humans like most of the modern cards are today. Heck they're not even in Yugioh art style which is sharp and dynamic looking. Just boring stuff you'd see if you typed "anime girl". Sorry but when a deck like Tearlaments is a Tier 0. I feel like "This isn't the Yugioh I grew up with....."
@@MarioMastar Sorry but as much as I do appreciate goat there Is also much more than as what meets the eye with modern TCG. So lets try to be intellectually honest, because I could make up arguments like "wawa goat has bad art" referring to only a part of the artworks It has. Card/archetypes like flamberge, branded, gimmick puppet, Ty-phon and Zeus etc. Are a testament as to how modern Yu-Gi-Oh can be fascinating on Its own right. And yeah there are some archetypes like Sky striker and live twin being a waifu deck, but these phenomemos Can only happen so often. So to put It briefly, both are goated imo no need to beef Edit: another thing I forgot to mention Is the tier 0 state. For which I say, Yeah It happens often and that sucks, however staying true to the being honest thing, Goat Is also familiar from these tier 0 ftk formats, wether It's from yata lock or Magical scientist, or hell even the new best found deck Panda OTK which abuses cards like last will. Or as for the handtraps argument, do we have to talk about The Trinity, or metamorphosis, or MST and the other few Spell and traps removal cards? Or the backrow Itself with solemn? Perhaps BLS too? Goat Is even more familiar with the concept of "staple", no need to be biased.
To quote another RUclipsr, HERO can just play some of the most hated effects in the game and yet people will be kind of ok with it. (Dark Law is one-sided Macro Cosmos, Plasma is Skill Drain)
I completely forgot that Stratos came out before 5D's. I remember he was one of Jaden's manga cards but I thought they didn't print him for the TCG, or any of the omni heroes (or the main deck heroes that came with them) until sometime after Zexal
It's amazing how many old cards can still be considered good. I love seeing list like this. It's so interesting to see what old cards are or were meta worthy. Also, if I got a sleeve, I'd pick the red spider one.
If people were willing to be creative and not assume every first draw is going to be a perfect hand, a lot of cards have untapped potential. They might not win EVERY game, but you can still always slot in your favorite and make it work for you. Honestly people need to get back to THAT mentality of Yugioh. I feel like most modern players are only interested in winning and the money aspect. but not actually PLAYING the game. it's like the complete opposite of Syrus and Zane, where if you were to flip it as Syrus reminding Zane to just have fun and enjoy the game for what it is, and Zane was all "NO! There's no point in playing unless you have the BEST Deck!" but keeps losing because all he knows how to do is watch tournament videos and just copy those decklists and strategies and ignore any deck that's not a tournament topper completely. and Konami keeps rewarding that mentality.... dropping extremely overpowered monsters and effects in modern day that if you summon, basically lets you win the game turn one but only after a 30 minute long combo that involves cycling through your entire deck just to get one monster to loop 200 damage to you, repeat until 8000 has been done. Not even fun anymore....
Black Luster EotB was such a powerhouse and my friends had a hate for it, especially when Yugi had it in his deck during the GX series. But it's still so cool.
I've recently been watching ALOT of GOAT-format content from different content creators, so seeing them ranked based not only on how good they were back then but also future play was pretty cool.
Hey Duellogs, just wanted to say I like watching your videos while i deckbuild and duel on Edopro. Thanks for the informative and entertaining content.
Duel Logs is one of the best yugioh creators cause he always explains thoroughly what each card does and how to use them. Even if we don't always agree with his opinions, it's clear this channel actually DOES the research and doesn't (always) assume that "If this card can't beat Tears, it's not worth using" like .... certain OTHER channels do..... I won't say any names...but you'll know if you found other channels that say things like "This card sucks! I don't know why anyone even plays it. Moving on!" Without even explaining what the card does or how to use it.
It is important to note that Treeborn Frog *was not* once per turn at its release and could bleed out a LADD by continuously activating its effect or during Standby Phase, tributing frog for Enemy controller and taking control of your opponent's monster then activating it's effect again.
Especially because it's "Forever Rogue" these days. It may not have warped a format like some of these cards. But it still made a massive impact and helped define future cards.
I think it's probably not on here because while it is a great effect it's not outright busted like all of these. While it was a great card and made games faster, the closer for the decks it was in was BLS-Envoy or the utility off Monarchs.
@@EflowNivek Except at the time of Monarchs, it would be a staple alongside Treeborn Frog, especially due to Frog being limited. Cyber Dragon has been a staple in multiple decks outside of its archetype It may not have an effect as powerful as Frog, but it makes up for it by being able to beat over common level 4 beaters like Gemini Elf and Vorse Raider. Even today, it would be good as an easy turn 2 summon that can wipe a board of machines, or even problematic Links with no response. Treeborn Frog can't compete with that.
It was Iconic but is pales to literally everything on this list when we're looking at being "good" otherwise and The Tricky while requiring a discard is just a better version of Cyber purely on being easier to force the condition for despite the lesser atk power. Add on that discard fueling a good number of decks whereas Cyber does...none of that and substitute cybers made the original become trash by themselves.
@@azuredragoon2054 The problem is Cyber Dragon is a part of a sum, rather than individually powerful. The example you gave is Cyber Dragon wiping the field but it isn't Cyber Dragon doing that it is the summoning condition of Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Treeborn Frog was at worst neutral (as you usually dump it for an effect). The other part not in the video is that Treeborn Frog, in its original printing, could be activated multiple times a turn single-handedly taking down a LaDD or unlocking plays with Enemy Controller (for effectively no cost).
Really enjoy these videos. Even if it's something I've already seen, I'll put it on as background noise while I'm working or doing something around the house. Always looking forward to the next video.
Dude how could I possibly chose which sleeve I prefer, they're all so perfect. Also I'd just like to mention how much I love all of your channels. They're really informative and high quality. Not to mention I love to learn more about my favorite games!
Your Tip 10s are always a fun blast from the past. Always a great watch. If I were chosen to win, I'd love to have the sleeves with the red blood moon in the background. Keep up the great work.
In an old gba yugioh game, Mokuba was basically free cards 90% of the time, the only execption being when he got Cyber-stein into Blue-Eyes Ultimate out early.
6:42 Idea for a “Zombie Master” support card that plays around with higher level Monsters and Synchros: _Zombie Master’s Apprentice_ (DARK) Level 1 Zombie/Tuner/Effect _While you control a Face-up “Zombie Master”, you can Send 1 Level 5 or Higher Zombie Monster from your Hand, Deck or Field to the GY; Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY. If you Special Summon a Level 4 or Lower Zombie Monster(s) from the GY by another card’s effect; You can Special Summon 1 Zombie Monster from your GY or Banishment. This monster must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect._ ATK/0 DEF/1800 So it acts as a compliment to “Zombie Master” being able to summon itself off of it while also boosting its Special Summon capabilities. And as long as you keep Master on the field, you can use Apprentice and the other Zombie Monster’s you’re summoning for all your Tribute/Material needs.
@@Deathmare235 How about if I change the first effect to… _If you Summon a Zombie Monster(s) from your GY by the effect of a Face-up Zombie Monster you control, you can Send 1 Level 5 or Higher Zombie Monster from your Hand, Deck or Field to the GY; Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY._ This way it can still be used in Tandem with Zombie Master (whose effect would trigger this card’s own summon), but would also work with other Zombie monsters you could use with similar effects.
Hehe, I feel like I shouldn't talk too much, but the few times Glad beasts are mentioned and they get showered with praise makes me smile as that's my main deck in Duel Links. I really like them not for thier power, but because of how fun the deck is to play, as it's less about memorizing comboes to get a rediculous board and more about reacting to the situations. Glad beasts are one of the most versatile decks that can stay in-archetype, due to the numerous unique effects the other glad beasts has, and as long as you have the right pieces (namely Unexpected Dai and in Duel Links, they just added test Panther which is a game changer...and the skill to get Rejection on the field at the start which pretty much starts every game), you can pretty much do anything you want. However, the downside is with so much flexibility, it's very easy to make a mistake that would cost you the game, as you really have to know when to time your attacks and how to set up your board to best prepare yourself for whatever your opponent will throw at you, so I find myself tweaking my deck a lot when I realize I'm missing an important piece or that I'm not using certain cards as often as I expected. A bad opening hand (There are a few bricks) will definitely stop any deck, but I never feel like it's not MY fault when I lose a duel due to a misplay or over confidence or misreading the opponent's effect and timing a negate from Domatianus badly. Still, the only other issue is since almost EVERY Glad beast card is useful in some way, it's easy to fill your deck to the brim (30 card limit) and feel like there's no room to move things around. It has good recursion and above all else.... your DECK is your HAND (due to the nature of the tag out mechanic) so it's one of the few decks where not only do you WANT cards in the deck, but in some cases, the hand is the worst area for a Glad beast card, since you can't use it's effect while there. but thanks to the nature of some of the spell cards, like the one that lets you special summon a Glad beast of a different type than those on the field already from your hand or graveyard, NOT once per turn. There's always something you can do. I guess being battle focused does mean you really don't want to go first if you can avoid it, but as Glad beasts can swarm the field easily thanks to the comboes, there are options on how to do turn one. Or try to get domantianus and maybe Dark bribe on the field to have a negate with a massive body that the opponents have to answer to..... and smile ear to ear when they enter battle phase and YOU tell them to ram thier monsters into your beast. Really fun deck, easily one of my favorites! Really wish more decks were like that, being more about playing around strategies instead of just "get out big body with multiple negates and recursion and just... win cause the monster is nearly impossible to deal with."
Man, we have lots of fond memories of some of these classic monsters in the TCG format and glad that the Duel Logs gave the spotlight to some of the most iconic that impacted the game for their time (and sometimes beyond).
As someone who picked up yugioh again in 2019, it’s awesome hearing about all these classic cards and seeing how they defined metas. When 5ds was new and synchros became a thing I didn’t even know what meta was. Thanks for all your info duel logs!
The errata on CED means that you can use no other effects for the turn, before and after. It's strong, but not worth because you can't follow up on it now.
While strong, I don't think it would be as busted as you think. If you go second, Veiler, Imperm and Mourner counter CED effect, if you want to have any follow up you need specifically GY effects which can also be countered by called by, shifter, or the basic Ash or Ghost Belle. Any of those would basically fuck with your whole CED strategy. And this isn't even taking into account you probably also having a GY based archetype. While current meta it would be better, imagine the years before. Swordsoul, Bystial and Branded would have 0 problems with CED activation while Tear and Orcust players would personally drive to your home to gift you a triple layered cake. Not even going to mention the whole card being useless as soon as you go second.
These take me back as far as playing the first three Tag Force games, though it was interesting knowing the TCG history before the first Tag Force (2006).
I still remember playing Eternal Duelist Soul on GBA. One game I will never forget was going 2nd and my opening hand was Cyber-Stein, Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster, and Megamorph. It felt illegal to open up like that
4:02 Idea for a Cyberstien retrain that works with other Extra Deck types: _The Monster or Dr. Cyber-stien_ (DARK) Level 2 Machine/Tuner/Effect _During your Main Phase, while you control a Face-up “Cyber” Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster(s), You can Normal Summon this card in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. You can pay 5000 LP (Quick Effect); Special Summon 1 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster from your Extra Deck. For rest of the turn, after you resolve this effect, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except by the effects of Monsters you control._ ATK/500 DEF/700
I played yu-gi-oh years ago, but i just enjoy you talking so deeply about the ygo universe. Brings me back to my childhood ❤ Better sleeping content then asmr for sure!
I’m not sure what you mean by card packs but I’m glad to be early and been a viewer for years. Glad to see you doing so well and be able to give back. Also my boy Cyber Dragon deserved the mentioned
Gladiator Beasts actually won a SJC prior to Gyzarus coming out, thanks to Herk being a hard counter against the spell-reliant DAD decks. If I remember correctly, Paul Levitin and another teammate main-decked 3 Shadow-Imprisoning, so that probably helped as well.
I play a lot of master duel and duel links because it's what I really have time for and I'm a casual tcg player but I love your videos, it's quality content that is really enjoyable. The spider playing with the card is the one I liked the most.
Thank you for doing a giveaway, very kind. Completely unrelated but i think kashtira fenrir genuinely has the best card art in the game. It's just composed so nicely.
I hardly ever comment for any type of giveaways. But you are one of very few creators I have had for years in my sub list, and one of three that I actively recommend to my friends and family. I would absolutly love the Blood Moon TCG set if I were to win. And even if not, I am glad to offer the engagement with your content to give that much more bump.
I've watched your videos for a while now, and I really enjoy them. I don't know what it is about yugioh, but I can blame them for my card collecting habits nowadays. Seeing all the cool stuff on your store is always a reminder that you can never have too many card sleeves 😂 keep up the good and hope all is well.
If i could get the black and grey one,it looks super clean. They all look awesome to be honest.Great video too, really interesting to see these og monsters again.
Fun tactics with Zombies. You special summon Avengdread Savior and use his effect to get a low lvl vendread monster or spell in your hand. Zombie world on field, attack your opponent's monster to send Glow Up Bloom to special Doomking. Don't destroy the monster though. Use Vampire Sucker to get a monster on thier field, if it's empty. Go for a boss monster in grave for effects before the next step. And I chose Doomking because he revives every standby phase if there's a field spell active. Zombie World for negates and banishes.) Then on Main phase 2, use Savior and Doomking to go into Vampire Fascinator. As soon as she hits the field, she can special summon one monster to your field from your opponent's grave. It has to have a lvl for this trick. Then you tribute her to take control of one monster on their field. With 2 of your opponent's monsters with lvls now, go into The Zombie Vampire to get bodies in grave and on field or go for Vampire Knight Sheridan to send any card they control to the grave, and revive it if it was a monster. This combo clears any boss or annoying monsters that can be targeted. Yuki-Onna The Absolute Zero Mayakashi is great for nullifying effects that are bothersome too. Devouring sarcophagus is excellent for this deck too. If it's destroyed by battle, non target control that monster, 0 atk, and it's a zombie. And when in grave, it offers this same benefit to any zombie, aka, any monster with zombie world. See, you use Avengdread Savior and attack an annoying monster you clearly can't beat. Send Sarcophagus to the grave with Saviors ability, then take control of thier monster. With Avengdread Savior and zombie world, you can send Glow Up Bloom on atk, special Changeshi the Spiridao. Use her to send either Doomking, Mezuki, Eldlich, or even Alghoul Mazera to the grave. All of which are for various situations. Zombies are dead and deadly
Hi duel logs! First time commenting on one of your videos (to my knowledge) in the last 3 or so years I have been watching your videos. I have been playing yugioh since I was younger and been playing master duel for around 4 years. The moon card sleeves seem the most detailed and cool imo. Imagine scaring your opponents with a silly spider on the moon when you set 1 and past lol
something I noticed about MoBC and its retrain is that apparently gaining the power of Chaos makes Dark Magician's face grow much longer vertically looks really off model even though its consistent
Suggestion for a future video: I'm currently reading the YuGiOh manga, and when you mentioned Konami designing the counterpart to Jinzo, who had been designed by Takahashi himself, I remembered that he had made Jinzo as a Lvl.7, while making Makos Legendary Fisher as a Lvl.4. Konami made the decision to change both of their levels, like they changed several other cards, some of them coming out much worse, while others came out absolutely broken. Couldn't one or two videos about cards that were better or worse in the TCG than in the manga original be an interesting topic?
I think I’ve spent like triple the hours watching these videos than actually playing the game. Very good for the second monitor while I play something.
My favorite original yu gi oh monster, which came out in season two, was Buster Blatader Attack: Buster Blader gains 500 ATK for each Dragon monster your opponent controls or has in their graveyard. Equipping: If an opponent's monster is destroyed, you can equip it to Buster Blader. Protecting: Buster Blader can protect your face-up Buster on the field. Combos: Buster Blader can be used to combo off during your turn. Locking out opponents: Buster Blader can lock opponents out from using the extra deck.
The card Tsukuyomi is one of my favorite monsters ever! It works well with alot of old school cards like Magician of Faith and Swords of Revealing Light. Just sumnon Tsukuyomi to keep flipping Magician of Faith to add the Swords back after three turns. This basically can simi shut down your opponent's battle phase. If you have Gold Sarcophagus you can choose any card in your deck, remove it from play for two turns and then add that card to your hand. You can keep adding Gold Sarc back from the graveyard after activation since it is a normal spell card. Also Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh card!
I think one of the craziest things is that no matter the age or what the card is, there's someway that it'll just randomly pop-up and somehow see itself get banned lol like grinder golem. Also for the giveaway the card pack I'd like would be the Moon Spooder pack love the black/gray aesthetic.

Makyura being errata'd feels so wrong
Tbh i prefer retrains to erratas
Like CED
Fun fact back in January 2023 the Cyber-Stein + Telekinetic Charging Cell actually got a YCS top 4 in a Vaylantz FTK deck
I love how when I was younger, I used to look at some of these cards and just not realize the shear broken potential they each had. I still thought Blue-Eyes was good lol
“You were beaten by a person who *chose* to put Mushroom Man in their deck!” Little Kuriboh predicting the future 😮
Kick their butts, kiddo! I believe in you!
Thank you
You got this lil bro! Remember: MST DOESNT NEGATE
Will try to remember
As a 30 year old boomer, this is the type of content I love. There is just something magical about early Yu-Gi-OH that appeals to me the most.
Simple yet effective characters, slow but often not that much duels, Iconic monsters, there's actually a ton of cool stuff on goat
So to put It briefly, both are goated imo no need to beef
Edit: another thing I forgot to mention Is the tier 0 state.
"30 yo boomer" 😂
@@anonymous-hz2un Its what youngsters call me.
To quote another RUclipsr, HERO can just play some of the most hated effects in the game and yet people will be kind of ok with it. (Dark Law is one-sided Macro Cosmos, Plasma is Skill Drain)
Rata?
@@deiansalazar140MBT
I guess that says more so about heroes than anything also they’re all one sided
Because their end board usually ends on a big rocky boy
BLS has some good effects, something you don't expect from a card with such a good artwork
I completely forgot that Stratos came out before 5D's. I remember he was one of Jaden's manga cards but I thought they didn't print him for the TCG, or any of the omni heroes (or the main deck heroes that came with them) until sometime after Zexal
I think the ones that didn't come out until Zexal era were the Masked Heroes.
Tbf the only reason I knew Stratos was pre-Synchro was because of Tag Force 2.
A video about the differences between the OCG, TCG and Master Duel ban lists would be interesting
Love your content, man. Got back into Yugioh because of channels like yours.
It is important to note that Treeborn Frog *was not* once per turn at its release and could bleed out a LADD by continuously activating its effect or during Standby Phase, tributing frog for Enemy controller and taking control of your opponent's monster then activating it's effect again.
Glad to see Jinzo make the list. It’s an old school favorite of mine.
Good list but cyber dragon should be on the list
I remember getting Envoy of the beginning in one of my invasion of chaos pack and to this day, I still try to fit him into all my decks.
As a new player your channel has been absolutely great for learning cards and learning strategies. Keep it up!
Your Tip 10s are always a fun blast from the past. Always a great watch. If I were chosen to win, I'd love to have the sleeves with the red blood moon in the background. Keep up the great work.
3:54 Def the Redish one. Our 5th favorite Yu-Gi-Oh channel has grown so much, keep it up.
In an old gba yugioh game, Mokuba was basically free cards 90% of the time, the only execption being when he got Cyber-stein into Blue-Eyes Ultimate out early.
Stairway to the Destined Duel was great
6:42 Idea for a “Zombie Master” support card that plays around with higher level Monsters and Synchros:
_Zombie Master’s Apprentice_ (DARK)
Level 1
Zombie/Tuner/Effect
_While you control a Face-up “Zombie Master”, you can Send 1 Level 5 or Higher Zombie Monster from your Hand, Deck or Field to the GY; Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY. If you Special Summon a Level 4 or Lower Zombie Monster(s) from the GY by another card’s effect; You can Special Summon 1 Zombie Monster from your GY or Banishment. This monster must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect._
ATK/0 DEF/1800
So it acts as a compliment to “Zombie Master” being able to summon itself off of it while also boosting its Special Summon capabilities. And as long as you keep Master on the field, you can use Apprentice and the other Zombie Monster’s you’re summoning for all your Tribute/Material needs.
Pretty good card though I feel like it should be used for more than just zombie master
@@Deathmare235
How about if I change the first effect to…
_If you Summon a Zombie Monster(s) from your GY by the effect of a Face-up Zombie Monster you control, you can Send 1 Level 5 or Higher Zombie Monster from your Hand, Deck or Field to the GY; Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY._
This way it can still be used in Tandem with Zombie Master (whose effect would trigger this card’s own summon), but would also work with other Zombie monsters you could use with similar effects.
I like the zombie horde deck wnd those would be good additions @Deathmare235

Bro I remember the days when tribute summoning jinzo was just🤌🤌the biggest fuck you to the only kid who pulled mirror force
Waiting for Top 10 Duel Logs Videos That End With CED or BLS.
Original CED should be #1, even now its effect would be busted, something that BLS cannot archive.
The errata on CED means that you can use no other effects for the turn, before and after. It's strong, but not worth because you can't follow up on it now.
@@azuredragoon2054 You need to re-read the comment. He was specifically referring to pre-errata.
@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 Well, either way, CED was put in as an honorable mention due to already being talked about a lot.
@@ObviouslyDevenCED pre errata is still a fairly easy to summon board wipe that doubles as a good beater.
It felt illegal to open up like that
4:02 Idea for a Cyberstien retrain that works with other Extra Deck types:
_The Monster or Dr. Cyber-stien_ (DARK)
Level 2
Machine/Tuner/Effect
_During your Main Phase, while you control a Face-up “Cyber” Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster(s), You can Normal Summon this card in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. You can Tribute 1 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link monster you control (Quick Effect): Special Summon this card from your Hand or GY, and if you do, you gain LP equal to that Tribute’s Total Original ATK/DEF. You can pay 5000 LP (Quick Effect); Special Summon 1 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster from your Extra Deck. For rest of the turn, after you resolve this effect, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except by the effects of Monsters you control._
ATK/500 DEF/700

Man listening to these “OG cards” videos is such a blast, especially as a more newer Yu-Gi-Oh player

Zombie World for negates and banishes.)
Then on Main phase 2, use Savior and Doomking to go into Vampire Fascinator.

Imagine scaring your opponents with a silly spider on the moon when you set 1 and past lol
love your videos and watching them lately have gotten me back to the game and wanting to start Master Duel haha keep up the goated work!
nice solid list and that blood moon sleeve design looks nice
It's cool to see how different Yugioh was back in the day. Also, I love your videos Duel logs
Love that the first two on the list are some of my favorite old cards!
Thank you, I have been enjoying your videos for years.
something I noticed about MoBC and its retrain is that apparently gaining the power of Chaos makes Dark Magician's face grow much longer vertically
looks really off model even though its consistent
I honestly think Jinzo may just be the single most well designed card in all of Yu-Gi-Oh. So powerful yet so elegant.
Not to mention looks so cool to this day as well.
The biggest surprise that in my opinion Should be on this list is: D.D. Crow, The First Hand trap, and to this day fairly decent
Suggestion for a future video:
I'm currently reading the YuGiOh manga, and when you mentioned Konami designing the counterpart to Jinzo, who had been designed by Takahashi himself, I remembered that he had made Jinzo as a Lvl.7, while making Makos Legendary Fisher as a Lvl.4. Konami made the decision to change both of their levels, like they changed several other cards, some of them coming out much worse, while others came out absolutely broken. Couldn't one or two videos about cards that were better or worse in the TCG than in the manga original be an interesting topic?
Super cool to see you're now doing giveaways!
I would prefer the grey sleeves with yourself on the moon

Are really special coming from you
Whoa didnt even know you had merch. The mystery box does look fire
My favorite original yu gi oh monster, which came out in season two, was Buster Blatader
Attack: Buster Blader gains 500 ATK for each Dragon monster your opponent controls or has in their graveyard.
Jinzo was the bane of the schoolyard for me, I was the only one in my friend group without one for the longest time.
I love the sleeves with the mechanical spider on it!!
I would LOVE to have the blue sleeves. Also these are nostalgia indeed. Miss those cards now in the ban list.
I love your videos,I always wantch them when I don't know what to whatch while eating
I think one of the craziest things is that no matter the age or what the card is, there's someway that it'll just randomly pop-up and somehow see itself get banned lol like grinder golem. Also for the giveaway the card pack I'd like would be the Moon Spooder pack love the black/gray aesthetic.
Honestly, those chibi-looking sleeves are pretty cute, wouldn't mind a set of those
3:56 the one on that left with the red moon is cool.
Its crazy to hear all these things about random cards I see all the time in duel links and I realize how much I dont know about the game
0:06 So a lot of these oldest Monsters are Non-Effect Monsters (Normals, Fusions and Rituals)…
I have an idea for a Trio of Support cards to help bolster each:
_Haven of Normality_
Field Spell
_Unaffected by Card Effects while you control a Face-up Non-Effect monster. Non-Effect Monsters you summon while this card is Face-up on the field cannot be Tributed or used as Material for the Summon of a Monster the turn they are summoned, except for the Summon/Set of a Non-Effect Monster. You can Normal Summon/Set Normal Monsters without Limit, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. You can Normal Summon/Set Normal Monsters without Tributing. You can only use each of the following effects of “Haven of Normality” Once Per Turn. You can Fusion Summon any Number of Non-Effect Fusion Monsters from your Extra Deck, using Monsters from your Hand, Deck, Extra Deck and/or Field as Materials. You can Ritual Summon any number of Non-Effect Ritual Monsters from your Hand, Deck and/or Field. You must also Tribute Effect Monsters from your Hand, Deck, Extra Deck and/or Field whose Levels equal or Exceed the Levels of the Ritual Monsters you Summon._
_Multi-Polymerization_
Quick-Play Spell
_Fusion Summon any number of Fusion Monsters from your Extra Deck, using Non-Effect monsters from your hand, deck, extra Deck and/or field as material. Non-Effect Fusion Monsters you Summon with this card gain the following effects while on the field and in the GY._
_⚪️Gains ATK equal to its Original DEF. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict Piercing Battle Damage._
_⚪️Gains DEF equal to its original ATK. The first time each turn this card would be Destroyed; it is not. If your Opponent declares an attack or activates a Card or Effect; You can Change this card’s Battle Position._
_⚪️While this card is in your GY, you can Tribute Monsters from your hand and/or field whose Total ATK/DEF is equal to or more than this card’s total Original ATK/DEF; Special Summon this card._
_Multi-Ritual_
Ritual Spell
_Ritual Summon any number of Ritual Monsters from your Hand and/or Deck. You must also Tribute Non-Effect monsters from your hand, deck, extra deck and/or field who’s Levels equal or exceed the Levels of the Ritual Monsters you Summon. Non-Effect Ritual Monsters you Summon with this card gain the following effects while on the field and in the GY._

I'm going to be honest, I don't think any meta where any of these cards are viable would be healthy, it would suck to play with or against these
Like, too much protection, too consistent and some arbitrary extra effects thrown in
The first card has tower level protection and basically gives you infinite special summons (cosplaying as a normal summon, sure)

Here’s the thing though, they require you to run A LOT of Non-Effect monsters (Normals, Fusions and/or Rituals) to make the most out of, so the chance of bricking until you get these cards ready is always present. So I was leaning towards making them all on the strong side, because nobody really runs Non-Effect monsters as the main point of their deck anymore otherwise. Although I can tone them down a smidge, if I can get a sec…

THERE, I reduced the limitless Normal Summons/Sets in the first card to “Just” 2, and I took off the “attack all monsters” and once per turn destruction immunity effects of the other 2.
Any kind of comment down below,.but for real, as a new player to Yugioh, I really need this content. Trying to play classic stuff with friends.
Maaaaan, Classic Cards just hit different!!! Also, have you done a Top 10 Best/Worst Shonen Jump Promo Cards? I like the Moon Spider grabbing cards Card Packs.
You could also search Jinzo with Witch of the black forest being able to search it with that made it just that much better
I love that card sleeve with the spider squinting to read the card text. That happens far too often while playing Yugioh. 😂
Love your videos and what you do, also Love the way the red sleeves look!
Ah nostalgic era. Clearly remember back in the day to summon jinzo an SSLv7 to shutdown all back rows 😅
