The singer (Katie Jane Garside) is been in a number of very alternative bands (now is in Ruby Throat, a duo of her and one acustic guitarist). She is a fully artist, in many senses: she writes poems, novels, paints, and lives in a house boat (she is a little... unique in her relationship with the world).

I mostly remember her from the early nineties, as the ‘Daisy Chainsaw’ middle finger at the music industry. Go check out ‘I love your money’-vid, if you haven’t already. You will be surprised..
    Love from Copenhagen, Denmark

I recently discovered Katie Jane Garside (the singer for this band) and all of her music is a fucking trip. I recommend Dark Angel and For You I Hold My Breath by her. They’re much more mellow, but still kind of eerie sounding and her voice is beautiful and sooooo soothing. If she can go from this to singing what could easily be childrens’ lullabies, that fucking means something and the music industry did her dirty by keeping her hidden.

COMMENT 2 - Have you heard the second version of Hotel After Show (i.e from the Drink Me album) - it's her definitibve scream-song, and I can well believe she threw up at the very end. (The "original" version, i.e the one on the Cock Horse album, is much tamer).
That apart, I recommend the entire Djinn album (esp. if your copy has the superior remake of Happy Now). And if you're still new to the QA oeuvre, Soda Dreamer has to be near the top of the playlist (just to "explain" the band name). Oh. and the "British pub jukebox classic" that is I Adore You.

Gotta give credit to Crispin Gray. He and Katie Jane were an incendiary combination.

I have the second Daisy Chainsaw album, after Katie Jane left, and it was boring and flat, simply because she wasn't there. And her solo stuff is also missing a lot. But the two working together were so unique and in-your-face that they completely eclipse even Hole, they were like putting together Einar and Bjork or Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

COMMENT 1 - I saw Queen Adreena twice and KJG was ALWAYS attacking Crispin.
I never saw one of those shows which were illegally loud - but they were always loud. And I never saw one of those shows where KJG knocked herself out by asphyxiating herself - but she was certainly volatile. Finally, I wasn't at the show filmed for the DVD, where she was getting decidedly tipsy - but she was knocking back draughts of the old chateau-piddle.

Corruption of innocence - Abuse - Addiction - Self Destruction.
These are the themes most commonly explored in almost all of KJG's work and when you step back and look at it as a whole it all makes a lot of sense.
She's a remarkable woman, not least because she's still with us after everything we could all probably imagine she's been through in her life.

The sonorities are interesting in my opinion . All videos like this i appreciate without a doubt . From 0'54" to 1'17" Golden part Avantguard's Theater by Suzi but many times the imput was given by Travis . 1'40"-1'45" Maybe a tipical Suzi's phrase with her smile !
