These next episodes are going to blow your mind, so much is going to be revealed, and pieces will be put into place. Go back and watch the intro video, there's a transition that happens between two people that holds a secret that Ichigo will find out in the next few episodes.
The manga was even more obscure and no ecplainations of any sort. We got more explainations here. Such as Unohana admiting the healing. My understanding is that they were going at it so strong during the bankai phase, that their flesh was destroyed by the slashes and spiritual pressures of one and another. But Unohana bankai were continiously regenerating them! And at some point even her bankai had problem to keep up. Why they both looked like skeletons.
Yachiru is NOT his zanpakuto. Everytime he blacked out, Unohana insta-healed him before he died to trigger his memories and keep him going in the fight.
Sorry for the long comment but I think you should read it for some clarifications. At last, we finally get to see the most insanely & visually contradicting BAN-KAI 🩸MINAZUKI🩸 [All Things End/An End to all people's lives] The Shikai of this Zanpakuto share the same name pronunciation but the Kanji for it (水無月) is different from the Bankai state (肉雫唼) The Shikai state of it basically means "Flesh Drops Gorge" as the Healing Manta Ray (肉=flesh, 雫=drop/drip (like rain), 唼=to eat/gorge) It’s like eating in a violent manner, while the Bankai state means “All Things End”. This is used to indicate that this Banaki works in conjunction with her Shikai as a contradiction: creating a place of cyclical acid blood as the substance of her Zanpakuto’s animal form being a Manta Ray that we saw back in Soul Society, where both the user and their opponent dies over and over at an accelerated rate- that’s why they’re both shown to turn into skeletons mid battle but then returning back to normal like nothing happened. As for their relationship, Due to Unohana’s sin being that of causing Zaraki to subconsciously suppress himself making him weaker for the sake of enjoying prolonged battles, although not ever explicitly stated and not by blood, they’re Lost siblings. This is the 2nd major fight, or rather BATTLE of the Thousand-Year🩸Blood🩸War, next week we dive into PEAK FICTION OF THE HIGHEST MOTHERFUCKING DEGREE KNOWN AS “EVERYTHING BUT THE💧RAIN💧” as the natural root peak source of Bleach’s story/plot! Let it be known that the new current Zaraki wouldn’t exist without Unohana’s guidance and blessing. He has more spiritual pressure/raw strength and potential but she could have outright ended him at any point in this battle since she has far greater skill, hax and experience, what makes that clear is bidding him farewell just allowing him to pierce and finish her off, sacrificing herself. As for their 1st fight she was caught off guard not expecting a child to be able to even harm her as it was explicitly shown. Zaraki himself would agree and slaughter anyone that dares to disrespect her only to bring him up. R.I.P 1st Kenpachi Yachiru Unohana as the last remaining member of the OG 13 Court Guards Squads and best woman in all of BLEACH. You got to pass on your legacy and on your own terms.
Fun fact: Unohana's Shikai and Bankai both share the same name, "Minazuki". However, the kanji used to write them are different. The kanji used to write her shikai (the healing manta ray) translate to "Flesh Drops Gorge". However, the characters used for her bankai trainslate to "All things End".
Wow. It’s amazing to see someone absorb everything the show presents and consider the possibilities so deeply on their first watch while also producing an entertaining reaction. You’ve got such a talent for this and your passion for the series is evident. Phenomenal work.
Kubo and Studio Pierrot, really put all their love and passion for this anime adaptation, the extra content to fix certain story elements, the animation, voice acting and music, bruh bleach came back after a decade, better than ever
It did!!!! It did!!!! Never has a wait been this satisfying! Fuck my bike on Christmas when I was 10, fuck losing my virginity as a teen and fuck ALL 3 of my kids!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just hope I live to finish this wonderful journey with you all!!!
@@Ssjutsu 10:57 YES, The pink child yachiru on the shoulder of zaraki is his zanpaktou's spirit(bankai). Remember when ichigo meet the zaraki first time, when he saw that yachiru ichigo couldn't make out what was yachiru as he couldn't feel her spiritual pressure as even though she is a lieutanant that was a foreshadowing that yachiru is not a soul reaper.
The parallels of Unohana being the nurturing mother of Zaraki is so incredible. If you notice She says "because when the strongest find the next strongest, they can no longer swing their sword for their own sake. The tip of my sword..." and it cuts off, showing the blood dripping off of the tip of her sword paralleling a mothers breast nurturing Zaraki. As well as her meeting him when he was a kid, and Accepting she did the worst possible thing she could do for her "child" (which is making him weak and vulnerable for the world) and feeling as if she committed sin. So by the end of it she has to Redeem herself. Giving her her only true purpose which is reinforced by her final Haiku "You without Sin are like the sun" showing she lived only for her "child" and is satisfied fulfilling her only true purpose. Kubo absolutely snapped with the writing, its beautiful man, easily my favorite dynamic in all of anime even while having so little screen time, the depth and impact is PERFECT.
After re-reading and now watching this episode, I think Unohana knew what she needed to do but was originally reluctant to fulfill her purpose. Not because she was afraid to die or pass on the torch but she didn’t want to confront her “sin”. How often do we avoid or shy away from the people we have hurt when we know we are in the wrong? I think with Unohana knowing that she forced Zaraki to weaken himself, she didn’t want to face the mistakes she caused and thus basically retired from Battle. She even said it herself: She was bored because no one was able to fight on her level and then because of her own weakness, she handicapped the only person who could take on her legacy. But now: Knowing that the soul society needed Zaraki’s True Strength, She accepted that it was time to finally face her past and awaken Zaraki from his self imposed slumber.
@@bryanmontemayor6640 I just present the simplest and most logical reason. If Central 46 is the only reason, she could just defy them and train him anyway like Yamamoto did.
I said it once and I'll keep on saying it. You are literally the best reactor on RUclips. I'm 100% sure no other reaction channel is gonna get that Yachiru Zanpaktou connection from a single shot
"the best reactor" ? To react is something everyone does when new information is presented, if I gave you a piece of toilet paper you'd react to it in one way or another. Reacting is not something one "does", it's a natural response.
I’d like to think that when she said “she has given everything away and now possesses nothing” she just gives all her remaining power and healing to Zaraki as a final farewell as she has completed her job or reawakening Zaraki
5:23 when unohana said bankai for anime and manga she gave me bigger chills than old man yama saying bankai....i screamed, teared up a little and for some reason I heard the way how she would say bankai when reading it and it was exactly the same way......unohana is still one of my favourite captains
Going back to the shot with Yachiru I actually think you might be right. I find it way to interesting that right after that scene with Kenpachi about to learn his swords name that it goes back to Ichigo, Renji and Kon at the next temple where it is disclosed that all the "women" there are actually Zanpakto's despite them looking like full on people.
@@mastixencounter I’m aware and I’m a non manga reader but I’ve never seen anyone’s physical zanpakto forms co existing with other soul reapers out in the open except for the zanpakto filler arc
@@NikoGoKrazy besides the the zanpakuto rebellion arc, yes their mostly not out in the open, more in your head like with zangetsu. Remember when renji was talking to his zanpakuto in the soul soceity arc and we got to see what it looked like.
Come on now! Who got the best bankai release yet? Unohana, Byakuya or Yamamoto? Look at that blood blade dripping blood! The decay and instant heal! This bankai is pure art!
I loved AOT s4 part 2, made in abyss s2, demon slayer s2 and I'm enjoying the new anime everyone hyped up aka chainsaw man, but bleach is taking the throne this year 🙌
I loved this episode and it’s adaptation. But what finally made sense to me that I never put together was how Zangetsu would always tell Ichigo how much he hated the rain and when felt so much despair it would rain in his inner conscious. Then when it showed the last scene in front of the family clinic and it was raining predating back to that day it all made sense.
Can we talk about how much of a beast Kid Zaraki was? Not only was this boy able to push a Captain of the strongest generation of the Gotei 13(AKA the most notorious criminal in history) but almost defeat her in battle as well. And the only reason he didn’t was because he handicapped himself and subconsciously thought “Hey if I cut her down now, I won’t be able to have fun anymore.”
What was the reason was he a noble offspring or son of soul king there was no explanation on where his power came from you can’t just be born in rukon district and be powerful like that, i hope kubo explain this because tbh i just see kenpachi as character that gets power-buff for no logical reason and overrated
The stuff with Kenpachi is so interesting to me because it makes me think of the fight between him and Ichigo. Especially the moment where Zangetsu tells Ichigo the importance of understanding his zanpakuto and comments on how Kenpachi and his zanpakuto are in conflict with each other. In Bleach the zanpakuto in general seem to represent the inner parts of the characters so maybe its about understanding yourself. Kenpachi never defeated Unohana so he never really was Kenpachi or he didnt really have an identity which could be why he couldnt hear his zanpakuto’s voice.
Kenpachis sword is actually as stolen sword also. They give the base of the swords when you enter the academy he was found with a sword outside of the academy while still just a punk kid.
If you notice, mid battle zaraki started to move similar to unohana. He learned her technique as they fight, that's why unohana said she passed on everything she can, because zaraki already learned what he need from that battle. Also, it's not that Yamamoto didn't want to train him, Yamamoto was stopped from training him by central 46, it's explained in the previous episode. The central people said "why did you think we stopped Yamamoto from teaching zaraki after only a day"
Remember the flashback to when Zaraki first met the little girl he made his lieutenant? He asked her where she came from, and she reached for the blade of his sword. Speaking of old moments in the series, remember how Ichigo first described the attack Getsuga Tensho to Byakuya? Zangetsu absorbs Ichigo's power and releases it in a condensed form as a projectile. Absorbing reiatsu to fuel attacks is part of the fundamentals of quincy combat. Not only that, but Ulquiorra had something to say about Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho as well, but specifically the one he uses in his 'Bankai' state. He said it bore resemblance to Cero Oscuras, a more powerful Cero usable only by Espadas, and only in their released state. I wonder if that makes Ichigo's 'Bankai' closer to an Arrancar's Resurreccion? The Getsuga Tensho Ichigo uses in his 'Bankai' is strictly his hollow's attack, since his hollow has used it with his version of the 'Shikai'.
Every episode is just, so damn good. The fight was so beautifully executed. The ten year wait was beyond worth it, with the product they are giving us.
Now we finally understand what the skeleton thing was, for years we thought Unohana literally melted their skin off, but we can see now it’s a metaphor for shedding their skin and revealing their true selves, true death gods. Like the Kenpachi out of any other soul reaper has got to be the scariest, so it’s probably safe to say they are considered THE grim reaper, so them becoming bones is just a visual way of showing that their barriers are lifted and this is who they truly are
I always interpreted the scene of them turning into skeletons as them enjoying the battle to such a degree that they felt as if their flesh was melting away.
it wasnt metaphorical, her bankai literally kills things sumply by being in her vicinity(and also the red acid). its her whole character motif if you think about it, "all things must end", healing only extends the inevitable...
23:38 Well....what is the big power that Quincyes normally do? A transformation with change in appearence. And the big move that Ichigo does (his bankai)? A transformation with change in appearence 🤣

the little girl, Zaraki's liutenant is called Yachiru She suddenly appeared besides Zaraki laughing and touching his blood stained sword, then he named her Yachiru in honor to Unohana
It's not directly explained but unohana kills her opponent with a touch of this red ooze and then she brings them back to life seemingly instantly. Kenpachi was talking about how he was unconscious that was when he was dead for that small moment and then unohana brought him back to life. thats her shikais ability. now she goes bankai to train kenpachi faster by killing him anf instantly reviving him. the Bankai of her Zanpakutō, she can release the Shikai form of Minazuki without the need for a command so shikai ability is like a passive skill now. Back before the gotei 13 existed unohana was trying to find an opponent either as strong or stronger than her kind of like how kenpachi does now. she enjoys fighting so much that she doesnt want to kill her opponent. she said "i became the best healer to fight for eternity". the crazy thing is she said that not to heal herself to fight endlessly but to actually heal her opponents so she develops this bankai to exactly do that. this is only my theory tho because her bankai was never explained in the manga.sorry for my bad english love from the philippines!! edit: your theory in 24:00 is really interesting because remember when ichigo trains to get his bankai for 3days. urahara gave him a shortcut way to actually acquire a bankai because he needs to get stronger fast is that suppose to be like his temporary power? so does that mean that what his using now is not his true zanpakuto? plus when is the last time we saw zangetsu we never saw him in the last arcs and with blade god saying he got this far without an asauchi just made so much sense because an asauchi is issued to a "soul reaper" and bond, train, eat with them to eventually create their personalized zanpakuto. ichigo never got his asauchi because hes a normal human he instantly got his zanpakuto basically hes like missing his whole childhood he didnt have no relationship with the zanpakuto at all. the whole relationship with his zanpakuto hes supposed to have basically the bond is missing thats proly why his zanpakuto break easily too
Alot of people seem to forget that Ichigo isn’t a born Soul Reaper. He was a human (Quincy) who had his dormant soul reaper ABILITIES unlocked/given to him by Rukia. Oetsu even says he never had a Asauchi meaning he never actually had a legitimate Zanpakuto. He was a literal “fake” soul reaper this entire time. He has to find out about himself since how can you imprint on an Asauchi to have a Zanpakuto when you dont even know who you are? Your Zanpakuto IS you.
Ichigo was born all the races actually but since humans and Soul reapers can’t have kids ( kubo stated this on klub outside) and Kisuke is the only one who knows the work around to this
@@kingwill1623 Ichigo wasn’t born all races. He was born a Human (Quincy). Its literally explained in the Everything but the Rain flashback and later on. He is one race. The Soul Reaper/Hollow/Fullbring abilities are just that…abilities. This makes him a weird hybrid but not in terms of race but in terms of his abilities. He has the powers of a Soul Reaper/Hollow and can use Fullbring but his race is just a Human/Quincy Isshin even starts off the flashback stating “you are not a soul reaper”.
@@STGAoe Ichigo isn’t just a Soul reap he’s also human Quincy and hollow. Ichigo father is what a Shinigami so he inherited that from his father his mother was a Quincy which is an advanced human after white attacked she was then mixed blood with that of a hollow and since Quincy and hollows aren’t compatible it would of lead to soul suicide killing her and white who infected her and Kisuke binded isshins powers to her soul to save her life. Ichigo was born with already having these powers and that being apart of his being so yes he was born all races. He didn’t have access to his powers because of old man Zangestu or the manifestation of Quincy powers was suppressing the vast majority of his power to keep him from ever being involved in any of the fighting. Ichigo is born all these races a natrual born hybrid he doesn’t have access to these powers he’s born with a human body not a Soul one so it is weird he’s the only one like except for Kazui his son but his blood is slightly more diluted because of Orihime being a human/full bringer
@@kingwill1623 Ichigo wasnt born all races. He’s a born Human/Quincy. The Soul Reaper/Hollow POWERS stem from Isshins residual reiatsu holding back the hollow, White. Ichigo by definition his JUST a Human/Quincy. He only has the ABILITIES of a Soul Reaper/Hollow due to what Isshin had to do. Isshin literally tells Ichigo flat out that he isn’t a Soul Reaper. This is why. He isnt half a soul reaper. He’s part human part quincy. He is only considered a hybrid of everything due to the fact that he has access to all these abilities but he isn’t a hybrid of everything in terms of RACE
You were so spot on with some things I damn near feel like you read the manga 😂 in the future definitely look back to this video for an "i told ya so" moment.
@16:00 he got sent back to the real world .. essentially he achieved everything up to this point without using a true zanpaktou base known as an asauchi... it was created via another source
The skeleton face etc when she went bankai. That's was LEGIT what was happening. Her healing was faster than what she provided to zaraki. He really was like that frfr FAM. She healed him plus gave her essence to zaraki
That's not what was happening. The anime cleared it up that it was only symbolism. her bankai is actually blood manipulation like gyutaro's blood demon art. and the blood she's using is what Tenjiro uses in blood pond hell. remember how he explained how that replenishes you when he threw byakuya in there. That's why she can constantly heal while in bankai
Kenpachi felt for the first time fear fighting Unohana (OG name Yachiru). Fighting Unohana who was the strongest oponent for him, he didnt want to win against her and made himself unconscious weaker, or degrades his power to unohanas lvl. Unohana was devestated and felt guilty that kenpachi made himself unconscious weaker. Thats why she is doing all of this, helping kenpachi back to his old self. Kenpachi admired Unohana so much and gave little pink haired girl the name Yachiro (Unohanas OG name)
I would say the biggest point in her not trying to get him stronger again Is because of how she lost so miserably to him as a kid and cause of that, Zaraki suppressed himself So 1) She fell into depression, she made a person who finally felt the joy and made him taste joy only have him thrown down further into the depression of boredom Cuz she herself had it for so long, since her murder spree along with the Quincy war, then she had to face stagnation and boredom of no one strong to face You could say she could go on and face Yamamoto, but there is a huge difference of fighting someone you know you gonna lose than fighting someone who is only slightly stronger or equal to you so you can savour the fun of battle 2) She don't know how make him unsuppress himself again, she never lost her touch but she lost to him and Zaraki fell into darkness with no one strong to fight him, and only until she realised Zaraki slightly unsuppress himself after a close dance with death fighting Ichigo during the Soul Society Invasion Arc. And she wasn't sure, but after the Hueco Mundo Arc, where he once again had a close face to face with death vs Nnoitra, she was sure... Then came to this arc... She know for sure how to make him unsuppress himself, is to make himself who unconsciously suppressed himself to the absolute limit, unconsciously slowly unsuppress himself every time he almost dies, and when he dies, Unohana heals him at the very edge so when he regain consciousness, he starts feeling the ecstasy remembering that "false" fight and unconsciously unsuppress further And she sooner or later will die due to having to 1) Release Bankai, this strains your energy 2) Heal her injuries 3) Heal Zaraki Injuries 4) Focus at the absolute limit to edge her heal at the very last second and heal enough for him to be enough to be moving properly By the time Zaraki fully unsuppress, she would be so low on energy and tired that she would easily be overpowered and get fatal injuries And based on how they presented the fight side by side to Before and after Ichigo and Renji Asauchi test, they would've basically done that battle for a whole 3 days 3 nights
I cannot believe he figured that out right away, that had most of us Bleach fans wondering for a while until it was finally revealed in his final fight of the arc….
To help explain with no spoilers. The voice saying I've been with you the longest was his zanpakuto. Like Oetsu said a zanpakuto is truly created when one melds their spirit with an asauchi ti create a full zanpakuto, but the reason he couldn't hear it was that he was weakening himself and subconsciously refused to.
@@mastixencounter just like Ichigo before, Zaraki was using his zanpakuto as tool, not a partner or anything. This is the “same” case when Ichigo couldnt hear Zangetsu at first. Being one with your Zanpakuto isnt always being strong or going all out. All this time, Zaraki has only been fighting wiht “his” strength only. I dont really wanna go further because it’s gonna be spoilers for Geek’d.
And remember he straight up took the zanpaktou from a dead corpse (read the manga for these chapters it provides a little more insight), namiya also says they need time to imprint their souls onto their zanpaktou and most likely before he had the chance that’s when he met unohona and started mentally suppressing himself
@@magilas8485 I didn't delete anything. And that's exactly what my comment said. Here is when he finally merged and imprinted with his zanpakuto. I literally already explained what you said.
basically her bankai is about replenish the blood like her teacher of healing does (the zero squad guy with the sauna). By replenishing it she heals all the time.
When yoruichi tried to teach ichigo banki .. the fight between ichigo vs old man zangetsu back in ss arc is part of what nimaya is saying .. also nimaya said about he’s girls how can you not make different between “soul reaper and zanpakto” :)
So giving you a hint, remember all the way back when Ichigo was first unlocking Bankai and he had to meet his sword? Do you remember what his swords true form looked like?
so far this is unohana's abilities in bankai: 1)blood in sword-boosted her physical attributes like speed and attack potency. 2)blood in ground(AOE)-she can regenerate like an instant to any harm being done to her unless the attack/attackers is stronger and overwhelm her. 3)blood in groud(AOE)-she can use this blood as an extension of her sword to attack and defend like renji or byakuya in a precise and deadlier manner. 4)blood(AOE)-as an acid. This one is hard to tell and confirm considering in manga and anime didn't really explain it but it's either the blood can use as an acid or it's a metaphor for them as a blood lusted killers. NOTICE: unohana is also a kidou master(she can use healing to fight longer and perform spells on higher degree) unohana is also hakuda master(she's kenpachi and love to fight in melee combat) unohana is also hohou master(she's OG captain and elite captain) unohana is also zanjutsu master(she is literally the first kenpachi. she invented the art of killing, she called herself yachiru/8k styles of fighting) unohana killed kenpachi multiple times, that version of zaraki who killed 3 stern ritters without having shikai or bankai while other captains like shunsui having tough time fighting robert in shikai state.
Great attention to details once again, and that is why I enjoy your reactions week after week. 😏 With regards to Unohana and her Bankai-- Minazuki (肉雫唼) roughly means eating drops of flesh. This is why Zaraki said that he was melting and we saw his flesh melting away. Unohana's did also, but she keeps using her advanced Kaido (healing technique) to continuously heal herself whenever she gets into Bankai form. And the red liquid there, it's not really blood, it's acid. Strong acid that melts the flesh away. I think it looks like blood just for the aesthetics cus this Bankai understands the assignment .😂 So, in a sense, Unohana honing her healing abilities to the extremes has a two-toned purpose: To continuously enjoy a worthy battle to its fullest, and also to work more effectively in her Bankai form. But that's just the way Kubo writes, he's very poetic in his writing.
They figured how to get the battle last long in different way and that was awesome, Unohana's bankai produced a lot of acid that's why Zaraki said he was melted away, a savage bankai for a savage person. And Unohana's VA did a good job when she said "Bankai, Minazuki" wohooo I got goosebump, I've wonder how it sound for longg timee ✨👏👏👍
That's completely false, stop spreading false information, it was not producing acid, heck, it has nothing to do with damage anyways, apart from her being able to send flying blood slashes at you, Kenpachi melting away is just metaphorical way of showing that his restrictions were melting, and he literally clapped her right after which proves it
[Tidbits & Clarifications] - Many people argue "Why not keep both Alive" which makes logical sense, but therein lies the problem, Kenpachi's don't live by logic. The 11th division has constantly shown the viewers that they prioritize their own satisfaction over logic, Kenpachi quickly joined Ichigo's side cause he wanted to have a good fight, Ikkaku let the pillar be destroyed because he wants to stay under Zaraki, Yumichika was going to die and let the pillar be destroyed cause he wanted to be under Zaraki...this division ALWAYS put their desires 1st. They don't care about what others want, Unohana made this division and she's the same, her purpose is passing the baton and enjoying the thrill of battle. - During Unohana's bankai when you see them stripped down to flesh and bone, it's not just creative imagery, (while never fully explained) it seems, given her words and the visuals that her Bankai has acidic and healing properties...so those flesh and bone scenes are real. (If im wrong someone lmn) - Oetsu says that Ichigo never had an "Asauchi" which as we just learned is the basis of a real Zanpaktou, this means Ichigo throughout the entire series has never had an actual Zanpaktou. - An amazing concept that's all over the entire Bleach series is that the Zanpaktou is an extension of the soul, this can be used to track how developed a Shinigami is. You cannot obtain Shikai or Bankai without understanding your soul. People tend to forget that Ichigo while prodigal, is still a kid, who still carries trauma. That's why it's easy to see why he'd fail at training in this compacity.
1) Ichigo's sword wasn't based on an asauchi, and so it was never a zanpakuto. Remember how Yhwach summons a sword to fight with, which also has the ability to project energy blasts... 2) Yachiru Unahona's entire thing is swordfighting. Her bankai is creating blades made of blood to supplement her actual blade, while it also heals her passively. 3) I can't confirm or deny anything about Yachiru, but, if she were his sword spirit, imagine how powerful Zaraki would have to be for his Zanpakuto spirit to be constantly manifested, with a zanpakuto of her own, and acting as a powerful soul reaper in her own right.
The liquid unleashed by Minazuki functions as an extremely strong acid that causes the opponent’s skin and flesh to rapidly disappear, and is capable of even reducing a physically durable combatant like Kenpachi to a skeleton upon contact with the said substance; it is even lethal to the owner of the Bankai herself.Thats why she has to know how to heal herself
thats wrong. Her bankai is actually blood manipulation like gyutaro's blood demon art. and the blood she's using is what Tenjiro uses in blood pond hell. remember how he explained how that replenishes you when he threw byakuya in there. That's why she can constantly heal while in bankai
@@mastixencounter its literally acid dude get over it lol. this has been documented and speculated upon for nearly 10 years and this episode confirmed it.
@@mastixencounter i dont know that blood manipulation detail abt her bankai, but im pretty sure her bankai includes a strong acid and that killed Zaraki multiple times during the fight, and thats why she said “you people should understand why i learned healing art” it was for Zaraki 🙏🏻
This episode made me tear up... It was beautiful. First half is one of the best & most emotional battles in Bleach and 2nd half is some of the most fun & cool lore I've had in Bleach. Also, one beautiful subtle thing. Unohana didn't lose to Zaraki. She purposely let herself be defeated by Kenpachi, she deactivated her Bankai so he can kill her. So poetic and beautiful.
Well Kenpachi is stronger than her as her own words she admitted she was weaker than him. and he pierced her and then her bankai deactivated not the other way around she didn’t let him stab her he was blitzing her faster than she can react at the end rewatch the fight.
@@mastixencounter Kenpachi 1 shots her, Bankai or not, im not going to spoil, but this base Kenpachi is already above her, later down the story he's a different breed
@@mastixencounter he bankai was still active and she would of died regardless as true power kenpachi >Unohana you see the bankai is deactivated after the pierce go rewatch the scene
Part of what I feel like is expressed in the manga is her wearyness for continue to raise a sword to kill. In many instances she (Unohana) sees Zaraki as a child to raise. So my guess would be that most of her time was spent watching over Zaraki and resigned as Kenpachi because in all truth she lost to Zaraki when she was young. She was just waiting for the day he would finish the job cause she knew he had it in him. There is also the detail that the eleventh division in the Gotei 13 (13 court) is a battle squad thar is bound to produce many casualties...Casualties that would be treateted by members of the fourth division (medical), which has now lost it's Captain...But it seems to me like as head of the fourth division allowed her to watchover Zaraki's growth safely, gain a new skill, but never shed blood again till her death, which as poetic as it is ...was bloody.
And the part skeleton showing and seeing that in her From this point of view he'd see her as that but he never seen himself as that creature but in that moment he realized that there were very little differences between him and her From her point of view it was a lot more simple Because she had time to understand what it meant so it wasn't graphic but from his point of view it was something he just begun to grasp and in that moment he understood what she was doing
I won't say one thing as an artist add a story creator The one thing you didn't notice is the symmetry between both of the scene settings The things that they had in common becoming stronger Rebuilding what they forgot making that stronger or reforging The symmetry between A beautiful piece of art like a dying tree blooming new Roots
At the end you asked what happened with Unohana after she fought with Kenpachi, and although it's vague there are hints/answers mixed into the story. We know Unohana was still Captain of Squad 11 and a Kenpachi back 1000 years ago, and we know that the hot spring guy in the Royal Palace taught her healing magic. She was the first Kenpachi and Zaraki is the 11th, so she vacated the seat a while back. I've always figured that after she recognized that Zaraki was "the one" she took a step back and entered that nurturing role instead of that killing role for both Zaraki and the Soul Society in general and transitioned to using those healing powers she learned to be a support - after all, battle against almost everyone else was boring to her anyways - but she still had that craving for battle inside. As far as why Yama didn't let him train, we know they taught him for a day (which led to him using 2 hands on his sword for the first time back against Nnoitora), now we know it's because Central 46 was shitting themselves over what he could become. Shunsui basically took over and was like "we're at war, we're pulling out all the stops even if they have major consequences (losing Unohana), fuck these old-ass men and their morals and traditions we gotta win, for Yama's sake"
So the reason Unohana kind of gave up on training Zaraki all those years ago was because she didn't know how to undo the shackles he had placed upon himself. She mentioned in this episode how it was only after he had fought Ichigo and Nnoitra that she noticed he was starting to undo them after coming close to dying. Basically, she knew he was supposed to be the Kenpachi, but didn't know how to return his full strength. So because she knew that she was supposed to be defeated and give up the title of Kenpachi, she became the captain of the 4th and let other people use the name Kenpachi even though they never defeater her. There were 9 Kenpachi between her and Zaraki, we saw a glimpse of the 10th who was the previous captain of the 11th division right before Zaraki killed him and took his spot. Oh, and her bankai was never fully explained, but this episode showed us a lot more of what it can do compared to the manga. The skeleton thing was a metaphor. If you're curious I recommend watching some analysis videos. I personally like Tekking's breakdown of this fight.
The way I read it is that Unohana lost the title after she fought with Zaraki when he was a child, combined with the fact that she had become bored I suspect she just moved to the 4th division not long after this fight and she re-invented herself. At that time she also noticed he started suppressing himself Zaraki eventually makes his way to Seireitei, becoming the captain of the 11th division and they meet again but she notices that he is much weaker. Once Ichigo shows up and they fight and then from his subsequent fights she starts to notice that he's getting stronger every time he gets close to death at which point she knows what she has to do. However, being that she is a dutiful person so only did it once she was ordered to by Shunsui. Also, Yamamoto didn't not want to train him, Central 46 made him stop after one day.
Guys for Unohana's Bankai I think I know what it does. It's basically like blood manipulation/blood bending. Where she can control the blood she release as a extension of her sword+ unlimited healing and It can also take away your blood which is why we saw there bones and she can bring it back. That's my opinion tho what I all think?
She has blood manipulation like gyutaro's blood demon art. and the blood she using is what Tenjiro uses in blood pond hell. remember how he explained how that replenishes you when he threw byakuya in there. That's why she can constantly heal while in bankai
I ❤how everyone just have forgotten that betch IS THE GREATEST HEALER IN ALL OF SOUL SOCIETY HISTORY. How doe Zaraki keep coming “back to life”… maybe she be healing him… bruhhh
Hey bro idk if anyone told you that but there was filler arc in bleach that kubo was involved in it it was called the zanpakuto arc in that arc you get to see everyone zanpakuto spirits, i hope you react to it or watch it on your own because this episode reminded me of the potential of that arc.
The imagery with the red sword being given away represents Unohana teaching Zaraki everything she knew during the battle and finally giving him the title of Kenpachi, Zaraki got constant firmware updates until he got back to his natural state, then his tecnique changed and surpassed Unohana's even with her broken overheal On Since he finally went back to his natural state he finally was able to hear the voice of his Zanpakuto, the sword he has been wielding even before he fought Unohana, he picked up from a dead shinigami he killed and as the Blade God explained it takes time for it to get the imprint of your soul. If you remember the Zaraki vs Ichigo fight, Ichigo said that he could hear the screams of his zanpakuto but Zaraki didn't, now we know that it's because he was quite literally plugging his ears, unconsciously
There’s so much to say about this episode that I hope I get it all: 1) I have about only 2 negatives (because I’m honest and don’t blindly excuse nor hate something), so I might tackle those first, then go into what I liked and then some clarifications and/or questions. One con for me, one that’s really unimportant although it did seem like a weird thing to write, is how in the Hell did she not notice that mountain of bodies? Even if she’s used to killing a bunch of people, then why did she get surprised that there was a pile there when it was brought to her attention? 2) I’m disappointed that we still didn’t get an explanation on her Bankai. I heard that Kubo apparently was going to clear it up in this episode, but I guess that was faulty information. I learned nothing new than what I knew before. I always thought it was blood even though the community thought it was acid. I always interpreted the skeleton scene as a metaphor even though everyone thought it was literal. This episode at least proved that much I think. The only thing I think is new is her wound healing. Now was that from her Bankai? I think so, but then why wasn’t she healing more? And how did she just die like that if she could heal herself? She was healing Kenpachi from fatal blows, so did she just give up and think “Ah, now you’re awakened,”? 3) I loved the music of this fight so much from the flashback into the fight. I need the OST now! I loved the visuals of her Bankai. And she has the best “Bankai…” of the whole series and I don’t care what anyone says. 4) Her passing on that blood sword as she died was metaphorical. Basically just passing the Kenpachi torch. 5) I don’t think Zaraki was stronger than her in the past despite what she said. I think she just saw his potential. Logically, even in this fantasy universe, it doesn’t make sense. I think she meant her resolve was weaker than his, but not her skills, abilities, and strength. Think about it: she’s hundreds of years old at least with plenty of battle experience and massacred Quinces in a war. Zaraki was but a child that had no Zanjutsu or abilities. She also said she was bored. Someone that strong for that long will get bored and lose their edge in battle a little bit because there’s no one to test them. That’s why Zaraki was even able to land a blow because I’m sure she underestimated him and grouped him with everyone else as a non-challenger until he got the strike in. 6) When talking about his zanpakuto, you did see the flashback of when he was a kid when it was talking; it started with it and kinda implied that ever since then it was watching him. 7) Don’t know whether or not you remember, but Zaraki’s Lieutenant is named Yachiru after Unohana. 8) SPOILER as a reply I hope I got to everything.
*SPOILER* The way this is coupled with what’s going on with Renji and Ichigo with the Asauchi is awesome. It gives great foreshadowing due to the correlation between the two plot points. Which makes Adonis’s guess kinda crazy. 😂
A running theory which wasn’t really shown in the anime or clarified is that the fight between Unohana and Kenpachi took 3 days to complete the amount of time it took for Ichigo and Renji to finish with their training with the asauchi
Kenpachi became at least ten times, possibly even forty times, stronger during this fight just in his base form. We won't get his shikai reveal until maybe in the second cour.
@@conorcrawford8311 She did, but the fact that he was able to best her in that moment was the signal that he had surpassed her once more. At that point, he would eventually have dealt a finishing blow anyways.
@@muchoyurdem5260 she never used bankai on him back then. but back then yes his base was still stronger than her base. although if she would have used bankai on him back then the fight would have been a different story
Adonis, I think what the imagery with the skulls and bones and flesh peeling off in Kenpachi and Unohana's fight it is a visual representation of how Kenpachi has been living life "on the edge" of death. He treads the line between overpowering his enemies instantly and holding back so they can get a hit on him constantly, is what Unohana is saying. So I think it's more metaphorical but it could also be literally the blood causing damage to Kenpachi. I take it much more as a metaphor but that is how it impacts me personally and just my opinion. It was even less clear what was happening here in the manga just for perspective's sake. Seeing it animated answered a lot of the questions I had been holding for 10 years.
Also, what I take it to mean Nimaiya is saying is that Ichigo is a "fake soul reaper" because he never had raised a soul from an asauchi as all other Shinigami do. His powers were always transfered to him from Rukia. He skipped steps. So now Nimaiya is saying you need to learn and understand boy. This is the reason I long believe Ichigo loses as often as he wins, his powers are strong but given not earned. So he lacks experience and understanding of what it means to be a soul reaper of Soul Society and not just a power transfer substitute. To me, it seems it is not a coincidence this is the lesson to take away considering Kenpachi is also getting a lesson simultaneously about what it means to communicate with their Zanpakuto's soul.
*What an episode !! make sure you WATCH THIS VIDEO ASAP!!* - ruclips.net/video/43OV4QlzWqA/видео.html
One of a kind Episode! no words can described how i felt watching the Kenpachis going at it. bankai

[All Things End/An End to all people's lives]
The Shikai of this Zanpakuto share the same name pronunciation but the Kanji for it (水無月) is different from the Bankai state (肉雫唼)
The Shikai state of it basically means "Flesh Drops Gorge" as the Healing Manta Ray (肉=flesh, 雫=drop/drip (like rain), 唼=to eat/gorge) It’s like eating in a violent manner, while the Bankai state means “All Things End”.

Yeah, glad he decided to rewatch bleach recently, that definitely helps.
But then also goes on a lil tangent about yachiru being his swords soul😭
Fun fact: Unohana's Shikai and Bankai both share the same name, "Minazuki". However, the kanji used to write them are different. The kanji used to write her shikai (the healing manta ray) translate to "Flesh Drops Gorge". However, the characters used for her bankai trainslate to "All things End".

Great comment but it was ichigo’s mom who said the poem
Woooow.. Bravo bitch!!👏😍

I’d like to think that when she said “she has given everything away and now possesses nothing” she just gives all her remaining power and healing to Zaraki as a final farewell as she has completed her job or reawakening Zaraki

Going back to the shot with Yachiru I actually think you might be right.

What was the reason was he a noble offspring or son of soul king there was no explanation on where his power came from you can’t just be born in rukon district and be powerful like that, i hope kubo explain this because tbh i just see kenpachi as character that gets power-buff for no logical reason and overrated
he also did not have a bankai nor did he know any sword fighting techniques while she did this whole time
Unohana never used her bankai on kenpachi back then. She only fought him in base
@@Ishallreignsupreme Nothing. Just a strong boring character for no reason.
Bro, seeing Everything But The Rain is next week put me in a state of euphoria.
"What’s the name of that little girl on his shoulder ?" That’s the question you have to ask at 10:55
10:40 Well, there would a precedent for that. There was the "Loneliness" guy from Espada who had a sword like that.
When I read Zaraki yell DONT DIE and now hearing it HIT SO DIFFERENT!!!

Like the Kenpachi out of any other soul reaper has got to be the scariest, so it’s probably safe to say they are considered THE grim reaper, so them becoming bones is just a visual way of showing that their barriers are lifted and this is who they truly are
Aww okay thanks for explaining cuz it was kinda confusing to me tbh

@@veiregor i also still tend more to that.
I always interpreted the scene of them turning into skeletons as them enjoying the battle to such a degree that they felt as if their flesh was melting away.
That’s exactly what it is it metaphorical as if you read kenpachi lines them turning into skeletons isn’t actually happening
It wasn't a metaphor, it's her bankai's abilities, that red acid was literally melting them both and then she was healing them both.
it wasnt metaphorical, her bankai literally kills things sumply by being in her vicinity(and also the red acid). its her whole character motif if you think about it, "all things must end", healing only extends the inevitable...

She suddenly appeared besides Zaraki laughing and touching his blood stained sword, then he named her Yachiru in honor to Unohana
Your Zanpakuto IS you.
even if he did know himself he still couldn't imprint with his zanpakuto since he never had an asauchi to begin with
Ichigo was born all the races actually but since humans and Soul reapers can’t have kids ( kubo stated this on klub outside) and Kisuke is the only one who knows the work around to this
@@kingwill1623 Ichigo wasn’t born all races.
He has the powers of a Soul Reaper/Hollow and can use Fullbring but his race is just a Human/Quincy
Isshin even starts off the flashback stating “you are not a soul reaper”.
Fr the yachiru being his zanpaktou was so spot on😭😂
Your inference skills are ridiculous, you pretty much nailed most of the things in this episode
@@mastixencounter u said what I said. Nothing different tbh
The question of Yachiru (his lieutenant) has been one the Fandom has been speculating on for years. Hopefully we get a answer in the anime
it is already answered
@@mastixencounter it is and he said it hahahahahaha in a way
it was never speculation.
goated reaction the facet u caught the little yachiru foreshadow 😭😭 ur different
Also, most people miss that he named his lieutenant after unohana. Yachiru
Nimaya and Speedwagon from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure have the same VA btw.
Zaraki is a beast and now he deserves the title of "Kenpachi", R.I.P to Unohana.
I would say the biggest point in her not trying to get him stronger again
Is because of how she lost so miserably to him as a kid and cause of that, Zaraki suppressed himself
So
1) She fell into depression, she made a person who finally felt the joy and made him taste joy only have him thrown down further into the depression of boredom
Cuz she herself had it for so long, since her murder spree along with the Quincy war, then she had to face stagnation and boredom of no one strong to face
You could say she could go on and face Yamamoto, but there is a huge difference of fighting someone you know you gonna lose than fighting someone who is only slightly stronger or equal to you so you can savour the fun of battle
2) She don't know how make him unsuppress himself again, she never lost her touch but she lost to him and Zaraki fell into darkness with no one strong to fight him, and only until she realised Zaraki slightly unsuppress himself after a close dance with death fighting Ichigo during the Soul Society Invasion Arc. And she wasn't sure, but after the Hueco Mundo Arc, where he once again had a close face to face with death vs Nnoitra, she was sure... Then came to this arc... She know for sure how to make him unsuppress himself, is to make himself who unconsciously suppressed himself to the absolute limit, unconsciously slowly unsuppress himself every time he almost dies, and when he dies, Unohana heals him at the very edge so when he regain consciousness, he starts feeling the ecstasy remembering that "false" fight and unconsciously unsuppress further
And she sooner or later will die due to having to
1) Release Bankai, this strains your energy
2) Heal her injuries
3) Heal Zaraki Injuries
4) Focus at the absolute limit to edge her heal at the very last second and heal enough for him to be enough to be moving properly
By the time Zaraki fully unsuppress, she would be so low on energy and tired that she would easily be overpowered and get fatal injuries
And based on how they presented the fight side by side to Before and after Ichigo and Renji Asauchi test, they would've basically done that battle for a whole 3 days 3 nights
That’s was a very good analysis on yachiru and Zaraki bro you not trippin
I cannot believe he figured that out right away, that had most of us Bleach fans wondering for a while until it was finally revealed in his final fight of the arc….
@@jasonmarcus6940 ong I’m still like wtf we got Kira and Light L detective over here
@10:43 you are right my guy hahahaha. that's hiw zanpakto all along.
I literately just woke up from a nap where I was a shinigami fighting the stern ritters.
@@magilas8485 I know. Thats exactly what I said

Unohana was like, "Lemme throw in a lil' Domain Expansion with my Bankai".
basically her bankai is about replenish the blood like her teacher of healing does (the zero squad guy with the sauna).
WOW WHAT A GUESS ON YACHIRU BEING KENNYS SWORD
😂😂😂😂 the moment you connected the dots😂😂😂😂😂
The guy you saw in the flashback the big guy that kenpachi held his sword towards was the former 10th kenpachi kijango
So happy that they didn't cut Nimaya's harem from the anime.
Haha it’s so funny
Btw you're right about the lieutenant being his zanpakuto spirit, or at least half of it's spirit. Creator of bleach confirms it.
So giving you a hint, remember all the way back when Ichigo was first unlocking Bankai and he had to meet his sword? Do you remember what his swords true form looked like?
I love how he had the power to just YEET Ichigo back to the human world
so far this is unohana's abilities in bankai: 1)blood in sword-boosted her physical attributes like speed and attack potency.
NOTICE: unohana is also a kidou master(she can use healing to fight longer and perform spells on higher degree)
unohana is also hakuda master(she's kenpachi and love to fight in melee combat)
unohana is also hohou master(she's OG captain and elite captain)
unohana is also zanjutsu master(she is literally the first kenpachi. she invented the art of killing, she called herself yachiru/8k styles of fighting)
unohana killed kenpachi multiple times, that version of zaraki who killed 3 stern ritters without having shikai or bankai while other captains like shunsui having tough time fighting robert in shikai state.
her passing the red sword to him was completely metaphorical
Great attention to details once again, and that is why I enjoy your reactions week after week. 😏
With regards to Unohana and her Bankai-- Minazuki (肉雫唼) roughly means eating drops of flesh.
That's completely false, stop spreading false information, it was not producing acid, heck, it has nothing to do with damage anyways, apart from her being able to send flying blood slashes at you, Kenpachi melting away is just metaphorical way of showing that his restrictions were melting, and he literally clapped her right after which proves it
[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Many people argue "Why not keep both Alive" which makes logical sense, but therein lies the problem, Kenpachi's don't live by logic.
(If im wrong someone lmn)
- Oetsu says that Ichigo never had an "Asauchi" which as we just learned is the basis of a real Zanpaktou, this means Ichigo throughout the entire series has never had an actual Zanpaktou.
Damn Nimaiya called Ichigo a "fake soul reaper." 😂😂😂💔

@@kingwill1623 your wrong brotha she gave herself up. She deactivated her bankai and said farewell before she was even stabbed

She turned there fight into a horror movie scene
She is the spirit of his sword, because remember, every time he fights, he sends her away
This episode was peak omg seeing next episodes title made me cry 😭😭😭
we gotta get these likes up my boy deserves it
At the end you asked what happened with Unohana after she fought with Kenpachi, and although it's vague there are hints/answers mixed into the story.
Sick video btw, I really appreciate all the insight you put out
So the reason Unohana kind of gave up on training Zaraki all those years ago was because she didn't know how to undo the shackles he had placed upon himself.
Unohana = Malenia + Mohg wielding Rivers of Blood
It's crazy!
"Are you telling me the lieutenant is the zanpkatou?". 🥺🥺 Bruh... God help you.
Damn my bad I was just guessing might have been a huge reach lol
@@Ssjutsu Won't say much. Just........hold that thought 🤫
The way I read it is that Unohana lost the title after she fought with Zaraki when he was a child, combined with the fact that she had become bored I suspect she just moved to the 4th division not long after this fight and she re-invented herself. At that time she also noticed he started suppressing himself
Zaraki eventually makes his way to Seireitei, becoming the captain of the 11th division and they meet again but she notices that he is much weaker.
Been waiting 10 years 😭🙌🏼🔥🔥🔥
Guys for Unohana's Bankai I think I know what it does. It's basically like blood manipulation/blood bending. Where she can control the blood she release as a extension of her sword+ unlimited healing and It can also take away your blood which is why we saw there bones and she can bring it back. That's my opinion tho what I all think?
Your right except the last few words about bones
She has blood manipulation like gyutaro's blood demon art. and the blood she using is what Tenjiro uses in blood pond hell. remember how he explained how that replenishes you when he threw byakuya in there. That's why she can constantly heal while in bankai
I ❤how everyone just have forgotten that betch IS THE GREATEST HEALER IN ALL OF SOUL SOCIETY HISTORY. How doe Zaraki keep coming “back to life”… maybe she be healing him… bruhhh
Notice his sword wasn’t cracked down the blade @10:30
Hey bro idk if anyone told you that but there was filler arc in bleach that kubo was involved in it it was called the zanpakuto arc in that arc you get to see everyone zanpakuto spirits, i hope you react to it or watch it on your own because this episode reminded me of the potential of that arc.
The pieces will ve put together next episode with the back story. 1 or 2 twists are coming.
The imagery with the red sword being given away represents Unohana teaching Zaraki everything she knew during the battle and finally giving him the title of Kenpachi, Zaraki got constant firmware updates until he got back to his natural state, then his tecnique changed and surpassed Unohana's even with her broken overheal On
Since he finally went back to his natural state he finally was able to hear the voice of his Zanpakuto, the sword he has been wielding even before he fought Unohana, he picked up from a dead shinigami he killed and as the Blade God explained it takes time for it to get the imprint of your soul.
If you remember the Zaraki vs Ichigo fight, Ichigo said that he could hear the screams of his zanpakuto but Zaraki didn't, now we know that it's because he was quite literally plugging his ears, unconsciously
There’s so much to say about this episode that I hope I get it all:
1) I have about only 2 negatives (because I’m honest and don’t blindly excuse nor hate something), so I might tackle those first, then go into what I liked and then some clarifications and/or questions.
8) SPOILER as a reply
I hope I got to everything.

The way this is coupled with what’s going on with Renji and Ichigo with the Asauchi is awesome. It gives great foreshadowing due to the correlation between the two plot points. Which makes Adonis’s guess kinda crazy. 😂
This dudes observation skills are masterful
That Bankai just hit different.
