1:54 I think that’s kinda disingenuous to say. For 1, Lost World, Colors, and Forces all didn’t follow that pattern as none of them necessarily centered around the collection of the chaos emeralds 2. Generations and Frontiers handle their uses of the emeralds differently. Generations kinda just has you connect them throughout the game as it doesn’t really have much of a narrative. It’s mostly just collecting them for the plot. In Frontiers, Sonic directly says how the emeralds were drawn to the starfall islands which sets in motion the story for the game. And even then their use in the game is for Sonic to stand a chance against the titans but it isn’t the center of the story (that being the ancients and discovering what happened to them)

I realized that I made many mistakes in this video but that's why I say some games, perhaps the ones I listed weren't good ones, but I just meant the formula was the same, not necessarily the story-telling, many people corrected me on that. The argument you're presenting is akin to saying "Sonic is used too much". Storytelling of something is far greater than x thing is used to often. Superstars is way different from gens, frontiers i kind of get cuz it's sorta similar to gens but it still has alot to make it stand out. Gens is mostly just a celebration title and all that really happens is sonic saves his friends through time and stops eggman, then for sonco frontiers it starts out simialr but through out the game sonic skoely gets worse as he helps out his friend's and tries to learna lil more about the starfall islands and grows a relationship with sage who at the start hates sonic but learns more of who sonic is and at the end sonic and eggman help each other out and stop the true villain, then sonic super stars is sorta a mix of each other with how gens was very simple but it had trip who learns to find her true place in life with sonic and ultimately defeatung the final boss. Now i think you do kinda have a point in there being similarities and i get its for the weird algorithm for the thumbnaik and title but idt its exactly black and white, i think sonic should mostly try to do something like the movies with how they make it fast paced (which i think 06 and sorta forces did with its story and i kinda miss it, it reminds me of spider man 2)

It's just now sonic games don't feel as dark as they used to, like the world was at stake, now its kinda happy and all "yea we did it".
