- The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace by Sir Karl Jenkins
Mercedes Benz Arena Berlin 02. Nov. 2018, 2000 choir members from 27 nations, with the World Choir for Peace
Please excuse the suboptimal quality. Unfortunately, the original material wasn't any better.
For us that took part in this concert in Berlin it was a wunderful / great / exceptional experience to be there. We only had 3 rehearsals to get the 2000 members, from 27 nations, of the choir and the orchestra on one line. The statement, november 2018, 100 years after the end of WW1 was and is still necessary in a world where still war keeps claim victims.
Jenkins' magnificent score, performed superbly in front of the ghastly images of war's madness....leaders of nations should be compelled to watch and listen before insanely sending their minions off to fight. I refus to accept war as inevitable. Thank you, Karl Jenkins.
Agree totally
My heart is opening - thump thump opening thump thump further. This is an amazing piece.
Profoundly moving and thought provoking. We all share this beautiful earth, it belongs to us all. Karl Jenkins I give you thanks for this gift to us all.

Respect Karl. 💯
Jenkin's❤❤❤❤
How big is this choir?! O.O No wonder there are oopsies in the mix, it's already a miracle it holds together until the end! This is insane. And amazing. And beautiful.
I got surprised to hear Angry Flames, Now the guns have stopped and Better is peace in other languages than English, though it's absolutely logical. I would like to have subtitles now.
I can't figure if the images behind are a good thing or not. But then, I already have a so clear idea of the piece in my mind that it clouds my judgment. Maybe not through all of it... I regret the images are too explicit some times, not about showing horrible things, but too recognizable things like WWII Germany and 11 September. The Armed Man is supposed to talk about war in general, through time and places, not specific wars. That's why too specific images triggered me.
Conducted by the composer himself.
This evening I will sing it in Padova sala dei Giganti
Het is niet de oproep tot gebed wat terroristisch is, het zijn de daden van individuele personen die achter de terroristen schuilgaan, welk geloof ze ook aanhangen.
C'est toujours ce qui se fait avant un act terroriste.
This was…kind of a mess! I mean scads of tuning problems, and tempo issues with the chorus and orchestra seemingly not on the same page at times. I understand it can be pretty tricky keeping 2,000 people together, but there’s no excuse for some of it.
I think you missed the point.
I heard that too, but you know what, in my opinion, that's the real beauty of live music performed by live human-beings. Anything (wrong!)might happen anytime! I don't know how professional these musicians are, but my amateur orchestra is gonna perform this mass this autumn, and yeah, I guess there'll be some issues there too! :P to me, that's the beauty of art, because, come on, this isn't THAT bad!
But the sentiment is surely so much more important than the niceties !!
@@danayang7712 agree to you. How big is the stage and how many individual to perform a live music? Even though Harvagan’s Goethe Symphony cant make 100% perfect unless in a studio.
You try doing this magnificent music. You are just a complainer if you find fault.
So ironic that he uses terrorist music in the very second part...
Just because it's muslim, it's not terrorism
it is sad to see that some people are brainwashed into thinking that a call to prayer is "terrorist"...
The muzzein call for prayer spoiled a feast that would have ended in ecstasy ; what a pity! ... a complete fiasco!
Karl Jenkins included the call for peace by a muezzin in the original score, you ignorant person!
most people who believe in Islam are peacefull,, but there irrelevant.
