Great video, have always wondered how to calculate sales when the rank is very low around 100 for example as the increase are very small so impossible to count, do you have a method for this?
+Carl Sears There is no method that is very accurate for items that are super low in sales rank. Some websites like to try and guess, but you can at least know the closer to number one, the more sales you can expect. I wish there was an accurate way to know.

PLEASE HELP. I've done exactly what you said. But, there is no "Sales Rank" tab on the charts. All I see is the "Price History" chart. There's no Sales Rank chart, which is what I need. Price History is no good to me.
CamelCamelCamel recently removed the Sales Rank chart... so they only show price history. BUT there is a newer tool called KEEPA that shows price AND sales rank history (and so much more). More details here: www.fulltimefba.com/keepa

Steve - Can you explain the range of numerical values indicated on the Left Vertical Axis? I understand it to be rank. Is that correct? Example: The product is the 30,000th best selling product in the identified space on a particular day. After watching your video, I'm amazed that 2 sales would move a product up the scale almost 20,000 places?
That's right. Rank is updated once an hour on almost all items on Amazon, so if the sales are not fast enough, it won't keep the better rank for long and will go up. That's why I teach people to use these graphs to consider average sales rank over time instead of just today's sales rank. Lots more valuable info here: www.howtokeepacamel.com

amazon doesn't have a history of sales per year/month/day of items?
If Amazon keeps this data, they sure don't share it with anyone. I can only find it on Keepa or CamelCamelCamel.

How quickly would the average product start selling once you send it in to FBA?
It depends on so many thing... If your price is competitive, how many other sellers are selling the same item, the sales rank (www.fulltimefba.com/salesrankcourse) and the customer demand. It could be 1 hour or 1 year depending on these things.

I'm trying to understand the blue (new) vs the sales rank (green). So in this video the lower the rank with the green line, the lower the price on the left. Do I need to ignore that? The blue line every time it drops indicates one less item, so either one sold or seller removed the listing or seller lowered price, is how I am understanding it?

Good question. It's because when the sales rank changes from a high number to a lower number, then it improves... and sales rank only improves when a sale occurs.
Hi, thank you for your video and explanations. Question: Is there a way to know which amount or number in ranking sales is equivalent to one sell?
Unfortunately, no.. there is no way to know which price (new, used, collectible, fba, mf, etc) caused the sales rank to improve. But experience has told me that the majority are new FBA items.

1st I want to thank you for your help and time, it means a lot... I have a question, I had notice when you check the sales rank there's "title" "best" and "worst" below , does it count the sales per month instead of us doing (counting) it ? you got 30+ sales and it says 30.081 it's so close... did I get it right or does it mean something else ?

thank you for the great video! Would the BSR graph in camel camel camel function to calculate the approximate number of sales for a product that sells approximately 300 per month? or is that too large of a quantity to infer how many units were sold?
That's probably too large. But the rank of that would probably be consistently in the top 1% of the category, I wold think.
What does the 3P "price" of an item refer to on the CCC graph? There might be dozens or hundreds of 3P sellers. Is the price the highest, the lowest, an average?
It's the lowest price from a 3P seller. Most of the time, the lowest price is what the buyer buys.
what does it mean when it say not enough data come back
Either they just started tracking that item so there is no data left to track or Amazon does not provide info on sales rank on those items.
In your opinion, does it make sense to use CCC and Keepa for PL or is it just for arbitrage? What would be the advantages & disadvantages?
I would think it could help with researching the success of similar items before you launch your own... and after you launch, tracking your own success to see if things are still working well.

When you said sales at the end of the video did you mean that it only sold 37 times in that month all together ?
That's my best guess based on the data. At least 37 times... maybe more.

Question. What if it says there's not enough data to chart?
Then you just wait some time for there to be more data.... but if you need to make a decision at that moment, then go with your best guess. Is it a good brand? Seem like a popular type of product? Good reviews? Make your best guess, but don't buy too many.
I have a lot of old rare music books, that's why I ask. But I looked on camel and there's either no data for them or it's not a popular product. Some I have are worth hundreds but I don't want to sell them just to wait forever for them to sell ya know.
if youre in the sales rank area, and the green line (the only line showing in the graph,) flat lines (6,449 to be exact) from May last year until now, what does that mean?
That means that sometime in May, either Amazon stopped providing the sales rank for that item or because the sales rank was removed, and that was the last known rank. Hope this helps!

Very nice Video appreciate it. I have a question regarding the authenticity of data that is projected in this graph how can we be sure that this information is accurate how is CCC getting this information that we can assume its reliable?
CamelCamelCamel has an API connection with Amazon has gathers the data once a day on all of the ASINs they are tracking. They are getting the information right from Amazon.
Are you referring to Product Advertisement API specifically?
So is the green line Amazon FBA or are the FBA sellers in the blue?
Green = Amazon
Blue = 3rd party; could be FBA or merchant fulfilled
CamelCamelCamel spends more time begging for money...than upgrading their software. If they ever give me solid results in a timely manner...I will donate (maybe)....I will "not" donate to CamelCamelCamel just because they use a "NAG" routine. Want more money Camelcamelcamel ?...become more.
