    This has nothing to do with the video, but I just appreciate so much your not using profanity and foul language in your videos. I've had to stop watching the videos of other people because they don't seem to be able to make a point without using crude and debased language.

    In calculating fees we need also to keep in mind the long term storage fees + return fees if there is customers returning your product + for people selling medias like CDs I heard there are additional fees for that also

    Interesting that the Amazon Fees changed when you changed the price. The amount of work they had to do remained the same. They may as well just take 50 percent and be done with it.

    Full-Time FBA. At 5:39 on that calculator something doesn’t seem right to me. You said that Amazon would be sending me $24.47 but that would mean that Amazon charged me for both the last two boxes that I filled out (inbound shipping & the plastic seal). Won’t I have paid the inbound fee and the plastic seal myself before Amazon received it? So by Amazon taking it out of my profit and me paying it I lost $0.75 cents??? You also said that in the “prep service” box maybe I would have paid a employee say $1. So if I put that in Amazon would deduct something already came out of my pocket. OR is the $24.47 the profit I made on the item and Amazon would be sending me a check for $25.22 (the 24.47 + 0.75)???

    I'm just beginning to learn about selling on amazon FBA. Have no experience of selling before online whatsoever. But I'm very interested in it. To start with I'm thinking about small quantity of inventory but as I'm a full time mother of two children, I thought fba would be more suitable for me as it would save me time and stress from shipping and customer service. What would you advise for me. Should I opt for merchandise selling or fba? Please advice! Thank you so much for your time and your videos are very helpful and informative🙂

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад

      I think selling via FBA is the best. You send all your inventory to Amazon and they take care of storage, shipping, returns, customer service, etc... and with 2 kids, Amazon doing those things for you frees you up to spend more time with your kids. :-)

    great video steve but i got a question for u. i presume the calculation u did is based on a single unit item. if i am rite, then i presume if i have 1000 pieces of an item to be shipped together, then i can as well multiply my unit price by 1000 in doing the calculation so that the final profit i get could also be divided by 1000 to give me my unit profit. kindly get back to me on this. Thanks.

    If my product is 0.0059 cubic feet, times $0.64 would be $0.003776. Does this mean I would be paying less than a penny for storage fees or does Amazon have some minimum storage fee amount?

    How effective is FBA compared to eBay in regards to getting things sold? Ebay seller fees are around 12%.

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      I sell WAY more items via FBA than I did on eBay... and I don't have to worry about storing or shipping the items before they sell. Amazon takes care of all that. I have a big inventory and wouldn't want to go find the item, pack it up, and ship it every time something sold. I'd rather spend my time doing things that are more profitable uses of my time. Friend, how does the fee is charged ? Do I have to pay it already when i sent to amazon (storage fee) or only when it is sold ?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  5 лет назад

      The fees come from the profits you make from the sales... if you're not making sales, the fee is charged to the credit card you have on file with Amazon.

    How to find out the storage fees they don't have it on there?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  5 лет назад

      It's there. Once you put your price in, click on the little upside down triangle at the end of the "fulfillment by Amazon fees" line and it will give you the monthly storage fees. During Q4 (Oct, Nov, and Dec) it will give you the Q4 monthly storage fees (which are higher than the rest of the year) and during the rest of the year, it will give you the standard monthly storage fee.
      Hope this helps!

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад

      You need to be a Pro-Seller... and then in Seller Central, you click on Inventory, and then Add a Product. You'll want to be sure to have a great title and keywords, and this resource can help you with that: www.fulltimefba.com/amazonadvantage

    • @LaloRumayor1

      Full-Time FBA so there is no way to add a product being an individual seller instead of a pro? I don't think I will be able to sell more than 40 units in my first month! I'm new to this business... Would you recommend me to buy a product that already sells on Amazon then?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад

      Lalo Rumayor I recommend those who are starting focus first on items they know will sell because the sales rank history shows it will sell often. Then start adding your own products once you have the base knowledge of selling other items.

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  8 лет назад +17

      Seller Fulfilled (also called Merchant Fulfilled) is great for those with really small levels of inventory. Once you start selling more and more, most sellers realize they don't have the space to store everything, nor the time to ship all the orders out. FBA saves both time and money by providing the service of storing and shipping for me. I have 1500+ items in my inventory and there is no way could ever keep up with that.... so I basically pay Amazon, via the fees, to take care of all that work for me. That frees me up to work on more profitable tasks, such as finding more inventory!

    Oh you telling me if find a dud, remove or destroy it and move on to a better inventory? Wow that's pretty much like dude take your money and throw it in the garbage or burn it. The problem is me myself and tons of people out there don't have money to dump or burn, if you want to help people then you should explain what are all the expenses include amazon fees and what's final chumps change that is yours to put in your pocket and don't have pay anything else, no matter how you price your product amazon still make way more than us, we are just a little fishes sucking off the big shark ( amazon) but be careful don't list your price to high to make profit because no one gonna and don't list it to low that's mean more money going to fall out of you pocket, just a suggestion and thought 😊

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      In any business worth doing, you're not going to find a winner every time. Even Walmart loses money on some of their products... but when they find winners, they focus on those items and clearance out the losers. It takes spending money to make money... and Amazon isn't going to offer up free services, hence the fees. And usually, if sourced and priced correctly, Amazon only takes about 1/3 of the sales price in fees, so that leaves you with 2/3 of the sales price... and if your price to source the product in the first place was 1/3 of the sales price, you end up doubling your money. I like those numbers. So look for items that have a consistent sales rank in the top 1-3% of it's category, and can sell on Amazon for 3 times the buying price, and most of the time, things will work out when it comes to profit.

    I intend to sell on Amazon ONLY with FBA. How can we use the calculator if our product is NOT already on Amazon? Is it that I register my product first on Amazon and then - without actually being "live" - I can then have my product information to plug into the calculator? (cartoon head explodes) Thanks!

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад +1

      You would have to create the product page for the FBA calculator to work on your specific item. Another thing you can do is to find an item on Amazon that is roughly the same size/weight and use that item on the FBA calculator to get a close estimate. Hope this helps!

  • @wvbb14
    @wvbb14 7 лет назад

    I found a product I can buy for $2.70 and sell for $10. But after entering it into the calculator it says I will have a net profit of -$1.60. Do you think it is possible to lose money on an item I can sell at almost 400%? FYI this product is small and weighs about 2.8 pounds

    • @sh9052
      @sh9052 7 лет назад

      wvbb14
      if you do fba, then you need to count the shipping cost , then Amazon fee.
      if you buy 2.70+ tax , then you list 10.00 then it is hard to make money.
      A lot of people do not make money by listing the lower price, but a lot of people do by buying from wholesale.

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  5 лет назад

      The individual (non-professions) plan charges you $0.99 per sale on Amazon. It's not per item, but per sale. The professional seller plan is around $40 a month and there is no "per sale" fee, so once you start to get 40 sales a month, you really should go pro. Hope this helps.

    Am a bit confused with my FBA fee display while am trying to list my item, here is what am getting £6.62 Includes £5.05 FBA Fee (my selling price £5.49)
    When i use the fulfilment calculator am getting net profit of £1.94 which i dont mind. But the display is showing £6.62 which above and that more than my selling price.
    Can i get advise please?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад

      The fee calculator is only an estimation... so some numbers might be off a little. Overall, my advise would be to not sell items via FBA that are priced under $10.... most of your profits will be eaten up by fees.

    I'm confused. I tried using the Amazon Fulfillment Calculator on: B0000BYDKO as an example. If I set both "ship to Amazon" and "cost of product" to zero, it still comes out as a loss of almost $3.50 per unit. This product is a "#1 Best Seller" on Amazon. Does that mean the seller of this item is doing their own fulfillment instead of Amazon?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      There are a number of reasons that someone would price an item and actually lose money on the item... the top 2 being: 1. The seller is clueless... and 2. The seller has other items in their inventory that are not fast sellers, or get more returns, or get more negative feedback... and it's worth it to this seller to sell a dependable item at a loss to even out the overall sales velocity, return rate, or feedback score. There are other reasons it's possible, but these are the two most common. Hope this helps!

    • @static75
      @static75 6 лет назад

      I doubt they are selling for a loss. Check out the item number to see what I'm referring to. With an item price of $9.98, they must not be using FBA.

    • @fulltimefba

      So how does one go about getting that arrangement setup with Amazon? In this case, Bayco is the manufacturer. How did they get Amazon to be the seller? If I am the manufacturer, how would I arrange Amazon to be the seller of my product?

      @@static75 It's called Vendor Central. It's an invite-only Amazon program that has Amazon purchasing from you and they sell your product under the Amazon label. It's expensive but can be extremely worth it for some companies. Works mostly for large-scale corporations or a large company capable of producing the volume that Amazon demands.

    The 50 & 25 Cents that you entered in.. The final number is what they are going to pay you. What does Amazon Calculator do with this 75 Cents? It seems like if I put $50 & $25 in these spots it would not effect the final output. These are just YOUR costs. Am I right or wrong? Because the final number should be what Amazon is going to pay me. Right. Also do you have that monthly sheet your offering for the USA? Or can you direct me where on Amazon to get this sheet for USA FBA's like me?

      Play around with the FBA calculator and see for yourself what it does: www.fulltimefba.com/calculator. Also, I'm not sure what sheet you're talking about. This one? www.fulltimefba.com/salesrank

    Well if you can find items that will sell easy and fast then everyone can be rich and success but life doesn't work that way isn't it?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      No, it doesn't work that easily... it takes hard work to learn what sells the best, as well as a growth mindset to handle all of the changes and charges that Amazon sets up for use sellers. Those who adapt to the changes and fees the fastest will come out on top. It's hard work, but it pays off if done correctly.

    They didn't include the cost of item that you paid for and account fee which $40/months and your PayPal or credit cards, taxes etc... in the end amazon always wins, and if your items don't sell they still make money of you. Just a thought...😁

      Yep - If you send in items nobody wants and it doesn't sell, then Amazon will still charge you for the shipping, storage, and upkeep of your items. It's up to you to find products that will sell fast and for a profit. If you find a dud, remove or destroy it and move on to better inventory.

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      Not really. You get what you pay for and all of the fees make sense to me for what I get in return.

    amazon charge shipping commission is ridiculous . I have to pay more shipping fees out of my pocket + I have to pay amazon commission ripoff fees

      If that small fee no longer makes it worth it to sell an item on Amazon, then find inventory with higher ROI. In my opinion, the Amazon fees are worth it for the service we get in return.
