    The best seller list on Amazon shows the top 100, which I would expect would be difficult to compete in. I'd rather know what the top 500 or top 1000 is. Is there a simple way to determine the top 500 or top 1000 instead of just top 100 by category? My thought had been to just try to get lucky, to browse random items in categories until I stumble across one that is a top 1000, that seems terribly time consuming though since it may not even be an item I can get or sell.

    Your 4th point was to check out amazon best sellers! How do we set up wholesale accounts with the distributors of those products if we are not supposed to be selling products that are already selling on amazon? Hope you can answer since i'm slightly confused at this part. Please & thank you!

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  5 лет назад

      Why are you thinking you're "not supposed to be selling products that are already selling on amazon." That's not a problem unless you're creating a new sales page for those items. If you sell on the main sales page for that item you're fine.

I am planing to go to texas and get some items from ca hineese distributor wholesale , but those items don't have upc barcode to check if they are not restricted by amazon..some do have upc barcode, but when I scan them on the amazon app nothing shows ..so how would I be able to know if they are not restricted? I dont want to buy without knowing if I will be able to sell it on amazon and without knowing how much profit I can get out of them..I hope to hear from you thank you.

    Question: How do you get discounts from distributors? Many of the distributors I’ve ran into have their prices half off suggested retail price, which will not work on Amazon were prices seem to already be half off suggested price. This is my biggest problem right now. I don’t understand why’d I’d go distributors over manufacturers, it will be harder and higher min, but I could meet needed margins.

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      The more you buy, the higher discount you should get from a wholesaler.

    Hi ... thanks for your content! This may sound like a silly question but I've narrowed down a couple products and looking at overseas wholesalers and wondered if you can send products directly to Amazon for fba or do you have it sent to yourself and then send it to Amazon? TIA 😊

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад +4

      I would recommend sending the first order to your house so you can inspect the quality of your order. Then, I'd send the order's to a prep company who will prep the inventory the right way. A prep company like www.fulltimefba.com/my-inventory-team.

    We have been selling on Amazon for several years.(mostly retail arbitrage and old office supplies) We are registered as a business and do have a resale license. However, we have not had much luck with wholesale. We have spent a lot of time contacting them directly only to find out that a majority of them want nothing to do with an FBA seller. Obviously, you can't lie to them, and many times they want your storefront info. I think it's getting worse because there is such a flood of FBA sellers. Additionally, the very few that we do actually get through their product list..it ends up not being profitable on Amazon even with the wholesale discount that they provide. I've seen videos that make it sound very simple...just setup a wholesale account and start making profits. I don't see how it is that simple? Can you offer any tips? Thank you.

      I sometimes tell them and sometimes don't, but if they ask, I always tell them the truth. I'm not trying to hide the fact I'm an Amazon seller. By the way, if you're looking for a resource that gives you wholesale companies that are open to selling to Amazon resellers, check out this resource: www.fulltimefba.com/worldwidebrands. You have to look at each item's product page and usually the manufacturer's name is either right above or right below the product title. Are these the methods you used to find your manufacturers/distributors? I've looked at packaging and actually taken pictures so that I have the manufacturer's name, address etc. I haven't tried the "Tradeshow no-show" though. Would you recommend ASD as one of the biggest lists?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад

      I've used all methods to find wholesale accounts. Some work more for them than others.... but other people find great success with the ones I don't as much. I would think ASD has the biggest lists... and registration for ASD is free... so you can register and get the wholesale contacts, but never actually go to the event - although I recommend going someday!

      You can use your home address and that will work just fine. IF your order is huge you might need to let them know that you need a lift gate for the delivery (since a truck can't back in to deliver your stuff to a loading dock.

    Hey Stephen, I have been trying to get an answer to this and I can't figure it out and it may sound stupid...if I am having the manufacturer ship directly to Amazon fulfillment centers with my shipping label I paid for and printed then I shouldn't be paying the manufacturer for shipping right?

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  6 лет назад

      If your manufacturer agrees to ship directly to Amazon and use your shipping labels via the shipping company you pick, then you don't need to pay them any shipping fees, but handling fees are possible (to cover the cost of the boxes, packing time, etc).

    • @fulltimefba
      @fulltimefba  7 лет назад +3

      Oh yes! Some wholesalers have minimum orders of $500, but others have minimum orders of $100... and will sell to anyone with a proper sales tax certificate. To get your sales tax certificate, you can go to www.fulltimefba.com/states and pick your state and find the link on the next page to get it.

      Thank you Stephen, already have my sales tax certificate. I heard back from a couple wholesellers, but their prices leave very little room for profit. I'm passing on anything that isn't at least 80% roi. What are you thoughts for how risky new sellers like myself should be? Is it realistic to expect to find 100% roi products from wholesellers? I've only been doing amazon FBA for 4 months :)

    • @fulltimefba

      Full-Time FBA Its a French word, adapted from Latin, its best to say it the French way. its like somebody telling you how to say your name, then when corrected they tell you that you're both right. my law lecturer actually did that a few weeks ago and I spent 20 mins arguing with him about how to say my own name. a French name: Dondre, pronounced Dondré, he said Dondra. Its very frustrating to listen to.
