“Lean on a gate and talk to a mate” In the current time of uncertainty and weather stress it is important to talk it out with someone. It’s on us all to look out for each other.
It’s a sad memory but one that you hold close, he will be laughing at you all waiting so long to get it back in the ground but also proud of you all. I have a set of chef knives from my grandfather, never used just there if I want than so understand the sentiment. It’s good you have all the parts and can get back on the fields once more and maybe it’s right time to do so! I’m sure he is watching over you.
you're right I think there are a lot of people, gardeners/farmers getting really fed up with all this rain. Easy to say but just need to hang in there, better weather will come.
Great video Phil, I going through a rough patch at home with family we all have our crosses to bear, Phil get that cough check out , we all have to look after our selfs
you are lucky to have an extra bit of land this year .......... every blade of grass could well be wanted ......never seen land as wet as this year .....i remember 1983 ......that was a late spring ....! rained solid till june 12 then it was dry till november ...!
Thanks for the plough video, I'm sure uncles pleased it's back in the field being used again. That brings back a lot of memories for me to. My dad bought a new fully loaded 4 furrow reversible Kvernland in spring 1989 I remember coming home from school just as the mechanic was setting it up on our 4wd 1046 IH tractor. Dad usually did the ploughing at home, but I got to do a fair few hours contract work pulling that plough on a hired Lamborghini 105 while he was busy sowing with our IH . We also had a flexicoil double furrow press on it mainly at home so that old 1046 was really pulling 5 furrows. Our local contractor had the same plough on a CIH 1255 opened to 1455 spec and he figured that wouldn't pull the plough and press together, well we did it with the smaller tractor and minimum 50 hp less L.O.L. She was a real good plough with that reset on the rock in Wales, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen all the trips go inline down the plough and not have to stop,Dad said it was scary the first time he saw it riding with the mechanic that set it up. If I remember right the longer of the 2 plough spanners that ride on the headstock has 2 notches in it and it's the distance between the pins on the spring when the tensions right. Our plough was the first one to be at a ploughing demo in Pembrokeshire/ Wales on a brand new first gen JCB fastrac, the dealers we got the plough from borrowed it for that demo, so that was a pretty cool part of machinery history to watch as well. Take care
Hi Phil, it looks like the plough is working nicely. I hope the 6480 gets back to normal but like you say that's equipment but I am sure you and Father Phil will get it going.
I would check the ecu on the 6480, we had a 64 series do the same type of thing we changed the injection pump, wiring harnesses, sensors and the ecu was the problem.
I worked with a contractor who used to weld old knives from the double chop silage harvester on the land slides and a length of re bar on the shares to save money and it worked well ! we used to plough hundreds of acres with two four furrow ploughs
Great stuff Phil i have a silly question why do yee not have the burning gear (oxygen propane) you can get bottles now rent free pay as you go. Keep up the good work
Great video. MF6480 is usually a great tractor… There must be a better way to make that plough turnover and also keep the depth wheel oriented backwards to hit the ground correctly? Keep up the good work.
A very touching video Phil! Fantastic to be using your Passed uncle's ploughing! I'm sure he looking down on ye getting the job done 👏🏻👏🏻😍 also thought ye pulled another bigger ploughing outa the ditch too but we ain't seen it since?
Your ground seems very workable , I’ve no fertilizer or slurry out on silage or grazing as the land is just bogging no other word for it and I had been aiming to lift silage last week of may but can’t see it happening now! Hopefully the weather takes up soon so I can make a start on trying grow a bit of silage!
Question for father Phil My 3furrow kv plough land wheel wont trip when turned over so manually jumping out the tractor and resetting it what do you think
"It's not going to rain now till the end of time!" I think this is copyright. I believe people said this to Noah, of the legendary great flood survivor fame.
Good on you phil, farmers have had a terrible time. But down here in Cornwall we have seen tractors back in the fields and the odd few cattle out.but its literally rained every day this year at some point.nice bit of content. Thanks.
Roscommon man again from San Francisco . Oh I know it sucks . The 6480 heart broken . I have an Audi a3 tdi . What a pain in the hole . Trowing codes left right and center in limp mode . I will get it right . . . And keep the faith . 6480 will come right .👍 it’s a Massey . Watch the pain in the ass will come through

Be respectful, if u don’t like it , don’t watch it, with the weather Farmers are almost a month behind in their work, they will put a plaster/bandaid on anything to get it working so they can get done what should have ben. Done weeks ago. I grew up in farming, I know what pressure they are under and its not pretty
Much respect on your speech about mental health. Thanks Phil

Uncle Ian's plough and the 1200 Recon he would have liked a round or two on that set up Phill 👍

Keep her lit Phil and keep ploughing along what else can we do and keep talking .
I worked with a contractor who used to weld old knives from the double chop silage harvester on the land slides and a length of re bar on the shares to save money and it worked well ! we used to plough hundreds of acres with two four furrow ploughs
You said you buy your bits from Mike Roche, he sells a kit for the wheel to stop it coming forward, same thing happened to our es80
Great stuff Phil i have a silly question why do yee not have the burning gear (oxygen propane) you can get bottles now rent free pay as you go. Keep up the good work
It's deffo good to talk, mental health supper important guys. Great respect Phil for highlighting this.
What you described with the tractor cutting out it sounds like G28 crank angle sensor thats breaking down when it gets hot.
Great video. MF6480 is usually a great tractor… There must be a better way to make that plough turnover and also keep the depth wheel oriented backwards to hit the ground correctly? Keep up the good work.
Phil your right. Nobody's an island. Mobile phones are a godsend, because you always ring someone even if its its only to talk sh1te
Great video Phil. Learnt a lot of tips about ploughing from watching this.
Great Video Phil, good to see the Plough that was in the fence a few videos ago, back doing the job. thanks for sharing
There’s a couple of 6480s near me like the one you have and they both gave expensive injector pump trouble , they’re not a great tractor
A very touching video Phil! Fantastic to be using your Passed uncle's ploughing! I'm sure he looking down on ye getting the job done 👏🏻👏🏻😍 also thought ye pulled another bigger ploughing outa the ditch too but we ain't seen it since?
The big plough will cost a small fortune to repair so we’ve left it for this year
@FARMERPHIL3690 that's what I was assuming as you said that at the time too !
Your ground seems very workable , I’ve no fertilizer or slurry out on silage or grazing as the land is just bogging no other word for it and I had been aiming to lift silage last week of may but can’t see it happening now! Did i spot a brand new Massey in the yard?
6480 def needs a fitter that has worked on them a lot to get it right no good as it is once right shoulnt really give much problem
Respect Phil for your video
Nice to see plough in action
Great video, love see ground being turned up
Good stuff
That's great work farmer Phil keep up the good work with it
Make five. Forrow. Out it mick Roche have a forrow
It’s the pump Phil. If she’s starts cold but not warm the pump is done. Weren’t the best pump
Few secrets in that machinery yard Phil 👀
Think you put a film up of you and uncle ploughing
Its sad but good you have the good memories of Ian with the plough nice slurry outfit there phil is the black massey yours😂
Question for father Phil My 3furrow kv plough land wheel wont trip when turned over so manually jumping out the tractor and resetting it what do you think
It needs to be disassembled, cleaned, and freed up as the grease is gone dry, and it is acting like a brake where it pivots. Father Phil
does the rev counter work or start going strange before stopping if yes could be crank sensor
Great video Phil. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Uncle Ian would be happier the plough was used rather than in the hedge, nice bit of ground.👍
"It's not going to rain now till the end of time!" I think this is copyright. I believe people said this to Noah, of the legendary great flood survivor fame.
Noah wasn't real, keep that shit off the channel please
Get the torch
Good on you phil, farmers have had a terrible time.
But down here in Cornwall we have seen tractors back in the fields and the odd few cattle out.but its literally rained every day this year at some point.nice bit of content. Thanks.
Great stuff
I was just thinking, where is the 7618?
I haven't noticed it for a while in any videos.
Phil, what are your opinions on power harrowing vs discing ploughed soil?
Powerharrowing does a nice job in 1 run but doesn’t like stones and can leave a pan in the ground if the ground isn’t dry enough
Sound advice.
have you tried crank sensor
Nice video.
What are those small mold boards supposed to do infront of the main bottom? We dont have that here in Canada
They’re skimmers they’re for burring the trash on the edge of the furrow underneath the furrow
Do you still have the digger that was rescued from the bog?
Ye it’s in the dung pit broken I remember him saying it was a big job to fix something to do with hydraulics
Well come ji
Good video ❤❤❤
Try a new ECU on that 64 Phil👆👆
Phil is your jcb teleporter a good machine and how would rate it I would like to now thanks
Sounds like a temp sensor alright.
What happened to the 6499 exhaust?
Are ye going to put the semi mounted plough going
Hopefully
Father Phil you will never train him brillant video lads you need a holiday Phil your lacking Abit 😂😂😂😂😂

Apart from the big cockle-doo!
I take it that disk has seized 😆
👍👍👍.
That's most certainly a piece of equipment you have to keep on the farm and keep it working.
You are very lucky to be able to plough you wouldn't be able to plough down the south
Hi it will be nice to see the plough on the 1200 4 ur uncle
20 inch out full I would say

Why do you dump your tools in hedges? You should get longer life out of well maintained, cleaned and parked machinery.
The sheds are full of the classic equipment.
Its called being busy.

Without tools Sean, you would soon be idle.
There parked next to the hedge, then the head grows around them
I would guess since they own them they can do what they want with them.
