Kim Burrell alone may be responsible for the new crop of singers who can run faster. Most do it to show off but there doesn't seem to be any intention behind it other than to display how fast they can do them. Stevie and Aretha were runners long before these youngin's popped up. You should check out their older catalogue as you'll find some really nice ones. I haven't heard anybody attempt that one run Aretha does in "I Knew You Were Waiting". It's pretty fast!
