My car started smoking...didn't overheat, just steam from coolant spraying all over the engine..as I pulled into my driveway after church tonight. Car did NOT overheat. Have you tried the superglue and baking soda plastic repair? I plan to go ahead and replace the radiator...don't need to take chances.
Lydia Hubbell hello. Thanks for watching and commenting. No, I have not tried the superglue and baking soda method. I did try JBWeld though. It worked for only a short while. I suspect the repeated expansion and contraction from hot and cold cycles will make any local repair very temporary. Good luck with your project!
I have a crack in the same spot. My advice for anyone with this car or a corolla is go on eBay. Just paid 36 dollars for a brand new radiator. 16 for both hoses.
It's holding up fine. No leaks. No problem maintaining engine temperature even in Arizona summer with air conditioning on full blast. Thanks for watching!
@CactusNaga Did you purchase it from RADIATORSRUS on eBay? Is this it? pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251690619373&globalID=EBAY-US (BTW, My radiator blew! in the same spot as yours developed the crack.)
Thank you for posting this excellent and helpful video! I have to replace the radiator on my 1999 model, it looks nearly identical.
Hey thanks for this. I was able to do a quick replacement on my 97 geo prizm after watching your vid.
Sean Anderson, thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. Glad it worked out smooth.
How quick?

I can't wait.
How do you plug the automatic coolant hole
arturo corral : I didn't plug it. Just left the plastic caps on to prevent bugs and dirt from getting in. Thanks for watching.
I am looking for a radiator for my Prizm on eBay right now. How is that one holding up for you?

I don't remember exactly, but I don't believe it was from that seller. But the item looks identical. Good luck with your changeout!
