That last coconut stand you bought from is the stand I used to buy coconuts from after school😁 so nice to see the lady is still there.
"Scotland much better than England"😂😂😂 you are a funny man Dale!
Goodbye dell
timestamps aint working
Assalam alaikum is Arabic. Were supposed to only say this to fellow Muslims. To you we would say Salam. Which is just a greeting.
It seems entire world agrees. Politician screws everything up.
Nice of you to take care of the mango vendor and pay him more than he asked for. The poor locals work so hard for so little, in the hot weather.
The best thing about watching Dale is that he does NOT have a guide! This means just wandering around, having the balls to go and chat with ordinary people and thus stumble into interesting people and places. Thanks and appreciate your travels through Sri Lanka.
You leave, I just arrived. Thanks for all the usefull videos. It helped me a lot planning my trip. Have a good flight back!
How much you love faluda
Dale,.. lamprais is a Dutch name pronounced "lump rice!".... kids start school at about 7am and finish at about 1pm due to the sun and heat! .. difficult for them to focus in a hot class that won't have A.C. or fans or to play outside in mid day sun!... they go home and have lunch and everyone has a siesta (afternoon nap!).. they get up at tea time (3pm) then play, do their homework, have dinner, shower and bed! (at least that was how it was in my day but since technology evolved and everything arrived late as 1983 when first television was first introduced!... we used to have fun as kids!).... also parents are strict and lots of young couples have secret affairs and can only get intimate in the cinemas, parks and Galle Face Green!...lots also meet up in the shopping malls!... as children my cousin and I went to Galle Face Green one night with our parents and took a torch as there were no lights outside those days... my naughty cousin went round surprising all the couples who were snogging in the dark under the umbrellas by shining the torch light in their faces!!!! 😂🤣😅)...... another time my cousins hired a tuk tuk from Colombo to come all the way back home to our grandparents place in the suburbs... just yards before it reached the house the two boys jumped out the back from either side and did a runner without paying so the driver couldn't catch them as they both went in opposite directions!..😂🤣😅 ... yes kids are naughty but sadly these days many are rude and lots of kids in schools taking drugs due to the pressure of studying, finding work, etc... it's not a paradise for them if money is tight as wages are so low and competition is high.... this is the side of Sri Lanka that visitors are not aware of!... the Lotus Tower is now opened to the public... in the initial designs, the petals were supposed to open out!... Sri Lankan rupees are the dirtiest bank notes and handled by all sorts so try not to eat from outdoor vendors who are not washing their hands, wearing gloves or using utensils to handle food to avoid food poisoning or eat meat/seafood that is displayed in unrefrigerated conditions if you know the food has not just been cooked fresh then and there!... then again your gut must be strong by now for eating all sorts of street food from all over the world... travellers with sensitive stomachs would certainly suffer "Delhi Belly"!!! ... nice to see the Colombo Museum as not been there since I was a child... the last King of Sri Lanka was Sri Vikramarajasinghe who was sent into exile by the British in the 1800's...not many people know this but next time you are in Colombo near the Hilton, go into the car park and you will see where the king was kept prisoner during his last days before exile...there is some sort of cabin/box like thing!... glad that security is tight everywhere for everyone's safety as no one is taking chances anymore since last Easter's bombings!... terrorists will take all sorts of risks as they are suicide bombers but Sri Lanka is safer than the UK regarding terrorism!... one off incident in SL that the whole world is talking about and scared to travel but worse things have happened in the USA and the UK which are on going and yet no one questions the lack of security here or visiting these two countries!!!... nice video of Colombo...want to see more!... thumbs up as always!.. love your naughty and dry humour 😀 (Sri Lankan sculpture and paintings will always display women having very round breasts...in the old days certain castes were topless ...you can still find photos of these untouchable women that only the British had courage to photograph as late as the early 1900's!)... look it up!
What a great country it is. You can go anywhere you like and you're treated like a King. Now only if a Sri Lankan could be treated similarly when they get to the UK.
Glad you like our beautiful country... we live in Scotland too. Thank you so much for showing our country really enjoyed.
OMG thank you so much!!! I'm an Aussie RUclipsr and I'm heading to Sri Lanka with my 2yr old daughter in October this year!!! I am sooo EXCITED and this video has just made me even MORE excited!!! Thank you!!
Very smart Dale! Good way of handling scammers without getting into a scene.
Absolutely loving your videos mate! I was supposed to be a sophomore at college at the moment but covid messed it all up. Watching these videos amid the strict covid restrictions and seeing your perspective to travel and life in such times is so refreshing! Cheers
