    This one brings back memories I met Hauncho in LP back in 73, Salty was in the unit the as well. I was pretty much the only Inglewood Family in the unit, they touched a brother up because Priest recognized me from one of the Centinela Park incidents. Long story short I became cool with those Crips and ended up running into some of them on the streets. If you don't know them brothers like Hauncho and Bitter Dog put the C in Crip real ones and I'm from the other side. Lil Caesar

      Good evening my brother it's good to see when real ones have love for real ones no matter what side of the street their from. Respect is the key. Love is the answer to bringing all of us black people back together as one unit. Good shit!!! God Bless. Big B Ratt

    This series is the first one to really uncover the history. Most of the gang docs you see is just whoever is out there that day. Kev Mac videos get down to the originals who were there from the 70's. I'm hooked.

    These OG'z remind you of any old skool cat, in any other city or state. That's the beauty of black people, we're all relatable no matter what hood or part of the country you live.

      +Z Eazy (Cashville Z) Chill. Lil LaLa was naturally gifted cuz. Where Big Space Ghost was like semi gifted but still had to build himself to the particular level he reached. Watch how Big Mizz speaks on Ghost than watch how Original Frog,Kenny,Bitter Dog & any others I failed to mention speak on LaLa. You can tell cuz was just natural, knew when to step,duck,counter, execute and probably smiled while throwing dem thngs. No disrespect to Big Ghost but I literally feel a energy every time his name or Puddin,Tam and Crazy Crip are mentioned.

See, when you get an "Original," 99.9% of the time, you're gonna get the truth. And, lets keep in mind, if you're not at least 63, 64, or 65 years old, you're not an "Original." Just keepin it real😎

    Amazing how the migration from the south and the Midwest, led black families to these neighborhoods. How redlining and racism created the foundation for what we see. This was duplicated over and over. The benefits the system has reaped for its own kind is immense. The toll the black community has suffered; irreparable. The number of warriors lost and turned out, compared to theirs who become military/police/political/banker, there is no gotdamn comparison. Even when handed ‘the bag’, blacks have found a way to give it back. How does a group, void of culture, regain its greatness and turn the gun back on its stated enemy? Food for thought family. Like, subscribe, share! Peace & Ase! #kevmac

    Nice Interview, thanks to the original OOG Bitter Dog Bruno, OOG Mellie Mel and OOG Head Honcho for your contributions. In listening to the interview, OG Head Honcho said that when he became a crip there were only two crips in that area, he and Melvin Thomas because Mack was locked up? Now it was my understanding that Tyrone Tate and Hickory St. was the first crip set in watts? Respectfully, Can someone please provide some insight into this?

      Claim Pro 3, I didn't know that Hickory Watts were crips, especially since they always tagged in red spray paint back in the day😎

      In Watts far as I know I moved there in 1969. before that you had Jordan Downs. they were called the Romans 103. they were not Crips you had the pygmy. Alfred Trotter. Ronald Trotter. and Donald Trotter .the two twins all three brothers, they never turned Crip they lived on 107th and Grape Street. they never lived in the projects in Jordan Downs but they hung out over there on 103rd. They also lived over on Compton Avenue and 53rd before they moved to Watts they also lived in Compton they've been around since the 50s their family and all. their cousins is Tyrone Tate. he started Hickory Street Crips. he lived on Hickory Street. in Watts let's move over to Imperial courts. they were called the shack boys. before Crips came out let's move over to the Nickerson Gardens. they were called the Huns. Then they became the Green Jackets. Jordan Downs. became the Green Jackets those two projects was Unified before crippin before the Bloods. before the Nickerson Gardens became bounty hunters so like big head honcho said there was no Crips on the other side of Central Avenue they were all on the east side Mac Thomas. Moved over in the Watts area his family they lived on 103rd right by Will Rogers Park. before that they live over I think on Hickory Street .after they came from the East Side and then when they moved from 103rd. Mac Thomas family moved to Compton. So on and so forth. head huncho. and Mac Thomas older brother started up the Grandees Crips. so yes Tyrone Tate. did start the first crip set Hickory Street Watts Crips. which influence the Jordan down Green Jackets became. J.D.C. Crips. startup by PeeWee. Who lived in the Jordan Downs. and then after that they became Grape Street Watts Crips. after W.V.G. Watts varrio grape clicked off Mexicans turn South Side Grape Street. they clicked up with the Mexican Mafia. and then the Imperial courts projects. they became P.J.s Watts Crips after they was the shack boys then 456 boys. everything else came after this was the early 70s on Word today.

    • @robj2027
      @robj2027 6 лет назад +8

      Rodney Lytle Black people in general were migrating in large numbers from the south to LA in the 60's and 70's. That has been brought up plenty throughout the interviews.

      Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. In no order but the main states which blacks came from that landed here in Los Angeles, Compton and Watts.
      It really hasn't been touched on in-depth.
      The person to talk to would be Bird from Slausons.

    Two things that always make me smile with this one is A. When he said "They was gonna call me the dancer. I say nah ill stick with bitter dog." And B. That he annunciated the c in MaCnificent 7 :) Even though Cutes OG was West Side... How respected would one had to have been to also start and be claiming a whole other thing. "As long as I've known Cutes.. he was a Seven. That's where Cutes was from." - Big Mumpy OG

    Love learning the history. My grandparents stayed on Kemp Ave. off Laurel out there. Hearing this is so frustrating though. Head Honcho boasting at 13:30 that they wanted to beat Detroit as "the murder capital" is chilling. That we would take pride in being the most lethal exterminator of our own people as if Black Lives DON'T Matter is sad. And it isn't hard to see that this attitude is still reflected in our popular culture and prevalent in our neighborhoods. We're better than this, and I hope those that those who make positive contributions to our community get more of the spotlight they deserve and increase their influence over those who would like to see us continually kill each other...if that happens, it would provide greater leverage to fight and defeat the systemic racism we struggle with as well. I have hope though...
