The Willie bit about dwarves is very lore friendly. The only reason the belligerent bearded psychos are not at war with you right now is because they are currently at war with someone else - who they might hate less than you, but he's closer.
I once got a military alliance with Karaz a karak before Karl could while playing as Drycha and got Thorgrim to go to war with him and they were enemies for the rest of the campaign or enemies for life

@@AmadeyAzalin As wood elves my capital was burned by ninja beastmen. (who then died immediately) Before I could recolonize dwarves took it. I declared war on them to take my capital, which is red for them since it's an enchanted forest. I stopped playing that campaign after 250 turns just being at war with the ordertide as Orion. I won the short campaign but I was at an impasse to actually clear the map as the AI was recolonizing faster than I could kill them. There was a time when I ran at 30-40k deficit but still made money from all the armies and cities I've destroyed. In fact I destroyed these places so much that the initial minor factions came back. Whom I paid off and allied myself with so they can take the zones instead. It was horrible. Then as I was playing Thorek campaign, I was going to enjoy fighting orcs and gobbos and skaven. By midgame only dwarves remain in the mountains. I just took the artifact pieces and won the campaign and fucked off.
