- Matt meets up with the guys at Prosoco's test lab in Portland Oregon for some tests, and history of the company.
Huge thanks to our sponsors Polywall, Huber, Cosella Dorken, Prosoco, Marvin Windows, Roxul, & DAP for helping to make these videos possible!

Great demo - thanks for answering my question :)
Audio gets better at 6:24 but still low.
Looks so much easier than applying a roll asphalt membrane. Fluid applied seems almost too good to be true. I've been watching your series and waiting for the cons to this system.
hope you're not holding your breath! Real world performance of over 10 years and still going strong! Remember it was designed by a contractor, FOR a contractor, so it was built to be as simple as possible and nearly impossible to do wrong. Try it out for yourself!
Cons would be the price (both material and labor).
What's the pros and cons Prosoco vs Poly-wall?
Did Helen Keller handle the audio for this video? Good lord
Superb video
What's the information on using this for Styrofoam ICFs?
It's done all the time! Joint and Seam filler between panels and Cat5 membrane on the face. Make sure to brush off any oxidation of the Styrofoam before applying.
I see the Pella Flashing tape in the background of the test window at 8:47. What's that being used for?
What kind of sliding glass door is that, on the back of the test rig?
to bad i missed you in pdx got in late
Can you do combinations between these products and a classic building wrap? I was wondering about what would happen if you seal the house with Prosoco products then covered that with a building wrap system like Delta?
you certainly could, but it would be overkill. No need to cover this material with anything other than your cladding.
Very cool.
Impressive
How long does the Prosoco and AirDam product hold up in the Arizona desert at 120 degrees and monsoon rains? Thanks!
This seems legit
Is good in '40c
how did this hold up in the fluid applied weather barrier test you had a video about?
Thinking about using this a shower pan install, good or bad idea?
not it's intended use..... but I've seen it done with great success!
Schluter kerdi, kerdifix. Good stuff, best shower install out there
Can this product be used to cover the whole leaking vinyl membrane decking instead of replacing with the new vinyl membrane?
They have a roll on product but it’s not impervious to UV, which will degrade it over time if I’m not mistaken. It’s meant to go under a protective layer such as brick.
I know they are both sponsors, but with what you have seen would you recommend Polywall Blue Barrier or Prosoco products? Or have you at least seen any advantages or disadvantages?
Both excellent products. I like the Prosoco system where each step is color coded. Just toured the factory and was super impressed too
Looks like automotive rtv silicone 🤔
is there canadian distribution?
Head to their website - prosoco.com - pick where to buy and then on that page international dealers ( not sure if specific dealers would stock all products ).
What part of Canada? Brock White distributes in most provinces. Also Cascade Aquatech in BC and AB.
Wow.
WHY, why are you screaming into the mic and muting everyone else? Uber-distracting!!!
#Hooold on. Wait a minute.
Did that guy say it's the same water as it was 5 years ago?? Inaide that box.
🧐🧐 🤦♂️
family owned doers not mean any better future for employee benefits/ profit sharing etc. 15 yr employees often cant even rent a decent place anymore. Like support farmers, well do they support the workers, even let them have/ even park trailers on the many extra acres. No.
@2:45 Family businesses are cool, but blaming all the problems of capitalism on wall street and corporations is missing the bigger picture.
Sound levels are horrible.
Corporations ruin stuff, soulless. Example RUclips..
Which Corporation are you referring to here?
Really informative, but why does he have to talk like that?
I'm wondering if there's any info on VOC rating for the product? Since jams and headers are also treated would they gas off toward the interior of the house?
Matt, Can you please do an episode about waterproofing around exterior electrical boxes and light fixtures? I'm worried that my builder totally messed that up 12 years ago and I want to get on it before problems arise but not sure what to look for. Thank you for your show!
Hi John, Quick and easy to detail around any through wall penetrations with this system. Use Joint and Seam Filler to tie the penetration back to the substrate and tool out from there. MUCH easier than all the relief cuts and origami required to detail with a stick and peel! Check out the details here www.prosoco.com/media/2522/r-guard-installation-pipe-and-mechanical-penetrations-s3-1.pdf
