  • Diamond Art Club are well known for their heart shaped pink wax, which is still included in their diamond painting kits, but now they have released their own diamond painting putty!
    Why would they do this?
Because you don't have to refill your pen or multiplacer as often if you use putty.
The new putty is called Sparkle Sticky and it comes in either unscented or scented options
I chose the scented (Rose) option to find out just how scented it is.
Some scented putties have an over powering scent that can be too much.
Thankfully Diamond Art Club's rose scent is pretty subtle.
The pack comes with 10 rectangular pieces of putty.
The putty is softer than pink wax but a lot more tacky.
When I loaded the pen for the first time I found the putty to be a bit stringy and had to push it into the tip of the pen with my finger.
No big deal, just different from what I'm used to with the pink wax.
It took a bit of time before the putty stopped oozing out around the sides of the pen tip but once it was settled it worked very well.
You can hear a satisfying 'click' every time you pull the pen away from the drill you've placed.
My initial impression is that this putty will last a lot longer than pink wax before needing refilled but there's only one way to really find out.
I'm going to work on one half of a kit (Leo) until the pen doesn't pick up anymore and see how far I get with one dot of putty.
Then on the other half I'll see how far I get using one dot of the standard heart shaped wax from Diamond Art Club.
I am using the newly designed diamond painting pen pen from Diamond Art Club that comes with a stainless steel tip.
If you haven't already seen it, you can watch the unboxing video here.

Thank you for the video! Thank’s for commenting on the scent. I like scented putty, but not if it is strong. I’ve been curious about the new putty. I use putty in my multiplacers. I’ve had trouble with it being too soft in the past because I live in a hot humid climate. I think I want to give DAC’s a try. It’s affordable for the amount in the package. I even noticed today that it’s now in DAC’s Amazon shop so I don’t have to wait to add it to my next DAC order.

I’ve been working on a direct comparison between this and regular Diamond Art Club pink wax.
Taking one dot of each and seeing how many drills I can place before they stop picking up.
I haven’t quite finished it yet but it might be a good idea to wait until I post the video this weekend.
      Thanks for watching! 😊

I was using museum putty but now that I use all metal placers it does not work. I wonder if this is worth the price and will work? I multi place when I can. TFS

I’ve no idea how well it works with multiplacers, I don’t use them. 🙂
      Thanks for watching! 😊
